Its just mind boggling to me how there is still as much as support for Trump as there is.

Never underestimate the dumb of his supporters. Hopefully it will all come crumbling down, but also..

Trumpism will never die. This is just the beginning.

Joe Biden, just like Obama did, will turn America into a socialist nation.  He may not even make it 4 years, and then we will have KaMAHla Hussein Harris.  Trump has given us FREEDOM, and he is PRO-LIFE.  The Trump economy was great, much better than the Obama one, because I read it on a website.  The socialist governor in my state has needlesly shutdown the state and taken away my Freedom... which wouldn't happen under President Trump.   Trump is protecting us from all those rioters and looters, they get upset about a Trump rally, but don't stop blacks, mexicans, and others from marching.  Its UNAMERICAN!!

There cannot be a single citizen in this country that is not aware of how the democrat party is being driven by radical socialists nuts! Biden’s running mate sealed that deal. But this video just puts it all out there. If you vote for Biden it’s because you advocate those policies. It’s their choice but don’t for a second vote Biden and pretend you had no idea. The “I just hate Trump” ain’t gonna cut it when this awesome country is not recognizable should these radical tools get cabinet positions. They are chopping at the bit now for State, Defense, Treasury, and Justice and Homeland Security. God help us! That said I feel and share the passion of Americans across this country for 4 more years of this president. As in 2016 - I’m confident of a landslide victory this election. The following days and possibly the next few weeks will tell.

Re: comparing polls

I would think the models concerning trump are more accurate now than they were in 2016

I would also think there is an over correction of some sort going on. But I bet it’s super minor. That’s not really how these people work - some, sure, but industry wide, no.

the media actually shares the brunt of the polling disaster of 2016 and if you haven’t read Silvers 10 or 11 article series on it all then you should. The media is absolutely susceptible to over correcting in the most absurd and stupid ways. Their effect is also compounding in the sense that there are people who are polled who get their info from these media networks, so the media networks have a self-fulfilling prophecy effect on it all.

I firmly believe in a fair election where legitimately cast votes are counted, trump gets trounced. I do not know how you relate that to what we have, because even if there’s no nefarious activity after tomorrow night we still have months of nefarious stuff in multiple states. It’s hard to measure how many votes didn’t happen because of that. At least in a short time period.

that’s all I got just wanted to rant on it for a sec.

Something everyone should see before voting or recommend to someone who hasn't voted yet.  I posted this in the covid-19 thread, but I think it's worth posting here as well. It's free to watch through tomorrow. After that, you need Hulu, so watch it today.

I really think the Dems and Biden didn't beat up Trump enough, this election.  I think they should have spent a year, comparing America now, versus four years ago.  Literally just beat Trump, and the entire GOP, over the head with what they've actually done, since gaining power.

Four years ago, Iran had eliminated 90% of their Uranium refining capability, and international inspectors were verifying them.

Four years ago, North Korea was begging us for a photo op.

Four years ago, Russia invading a Balkan country and conquering part of it was something the US was opposed to.

Four years ago, the US and our Kurdish allies were building military bases inside Syria, and using those bases to attack ISIS.  Two years ago, we were bombing those bases, because we were fleeing them too quickly to pack.

Four years ago, the US economy had been adding 229 thousand jobs, per month, for three years.  In the three years before covid, it was adding 189 thousand.

Four years ago, people marching behind Nazi flags were bad people.

Four years ago, diverting taxpayer funds to use as leverage to extort a foreign government into helping out your political campaign was an impeachable offense.

Four years ago, firing the head of the FBI because he wouldn't promise to obstruct justice would have been wrong.

Four years ago, a free trade agreement that included 40% of the world's GDP, and excluded China, was a good thing.

Four years ago, NATO was one of the Good Guys.

Four years ago, the federal deficit had shrunk for 7 of the last 8 years.

Four years ago, the world's foremost expert on how to fight an epidemic was the CDC.  Not El Presidente's son in law.

Reset America to four years ago.  Think of it as being conservative.

I'd make them read this article:

https://theweek.com/articles/936534/trump-bigger-socialist-than-biden

Trump points to his tax cuts and deregulation to make the case that he's an anti-socialist who has shrunk the size of government. The trouble is that his tax cuts have been accompanied by massive increases in government spending, ballooning deficits and debt and setting the stage for tax hikes on future generations (or bankruptcy, which he has openly said he's fine courting). So Trump's anti-socialism consists of expanding government spending now and kicking the payment for it down the road.

To be sure, Biden is no slouch when it comes to doling out government largesse. And his Build Back Better plan to rejuvenate America visualizes spending $5.35 trillion over 10 years just on education, infrastructure and health care (any emergency would be extra). If Biden gets his way, that would boost the debt to 24 percent of the GDP. That's three percentage points more than right now — and equal to the chunk of the economy Uncle Sam was consuming during World War II. Biden plans to pay for all this by repealing Trump's tax cuts for corporations and high earners. The right calls this socialism, but it is far from clear why taxing and spending in real time qualifies as socialism and spending now and taxing later doesn't.

My ballot in Montgomery County finally changed to "Accepted" today.  I dropped it in a dropbox on October 16th and it finally went to accepted which means it's been counted.

Ha, my Montgomery County mail in ballot was received 10/8 and they didn't accept it until 10/31.

I'm guessing they just kind of collected em but didn't plan on starting to go through them until closer to election.

My wife's was also accepted so +2 for Biden/Harris.

Predictions:

PA - Biden +3
MI - Biden +5
WI - Biden +5
FL - Biden +1
NC - Biden +2
AZ - Biden +3
GA - Trump +1
IA - Trump +1
OH - Trump +2

TX - Trump +2

AZ and NC will be the difference between a panic-stricken evening and a more relaxed one. FL will be the difference between a relatively close race and a laugher. If the election truly comes down to PA...

but i have to take myself to task for being hypocritical with such fantasizing, given my stance against voter suppression

so looks like the judge might be leaning towards keeping the 120k votes, but ending drive-thru voting for today and tomorrow... not sure what he's not getting about those votes not being illegal, but its definitely not the worst outcome

I think it's better understood as there's no reason to rush to invalidate the 120K votes.  Question on the validity of those votes may not matter if the outcome is more than 120K apart.  If it does swing the election, it'll end up going to SCOTUS anyway.

Another more sinister and paranoid view would be that if those votes are invalidated now, then those willing could potentially cure it by voting in person tomorrow.  If they are invalidated days after by the Fifth Circuit or SCOTUS, then you're out of luck.
