  1. Lakers roster isn't any good either. Rui is not a starting caliber player on a contender and Russell has generally been dreadful in the playoffs.
  2. Who does the reviews on the penalties? League headquarters?
  3. I wish Oshie would retire. Dude is a walking concussion at this point.
  4. I've definitely seen some really questionable officiating in the playoffs so far and I get the complaints from the 76ers. But I don't want to hear from the Lakers or Lebron, when you take and miss a wide open three pointer with 16 seconds left in the game (and 10 seconds on the shot clock) after blowing a 20 pt lead cause you only scored 40 points in the 2nd half.
  5. I agree that the AAA pitching seems to be really bad. Some of the numbers being put up are laughable. But, if he is having any mechanics issues, he can straighten them out in AAA and it's good to see some hard hit baseballs regardless of the level when you are really struggling to make contact, let alone solid contact. It's really difficult to create lower leverage situations for hitters because it's difficult to PH later in a game and he's going to press until he starts hitting.
  6. Gunnar actually come up and hit right away. Adley batted .180 in his first ten games, .241 in his next 22 games and .274 that June. It depends a little on if he is making loud outs or not but the biggest concern has to be 16K in 32 PA. I'd send him down to get regular ABs. It would have to be for a pitcher with 4 years of control and why would any team give that up? Having said that, they are going to have some tough decisions to make regarding some of these prospects that are knocking on the door but are blocked.
  7. That is true but the difference between regular season and playoffs seems particularly excessive to start the post season.
  8. It's malpractice that OKC didn't get a serviceable back up big man at the trade deadline. They have a million first round picks. They got lucky Zion is out. And I get not calling as many fouls in the playoffs, but it's swung way too far to not calling blatant pushing off to create space. Zero consistency in NBA officiating.
  9. Pinch hitting for Holiday in the 7th. Not that I blame them. How long can you keep running him out there before you send him back down for a bit?
  10. The only thing they really talked about is that there has to be a strong focus on player development. Whomever they hire will understand that there is another year or two of losing with younger players before the expectation to win starts to build.
  11. If you haven't watch, take the time for the entire hour it is. These guys are going to succeed and you can't help but feel optimistic about the future for the first time in over a decade. True professionals and honest assessments.
  12. The Cyber Truck will go down as one of the all time worst decisions in automotive history. Never understood it from any actual business perspective. I don't get why institutional investors aren't pressuring the board to remove that dip****.
  13. Hope y'all know that this team will be tanking next year as well. It's not like they planned to tank just for this draft and be done. It's all about collecting young assets and there will be good players in this draft. The lack of a Wemby doesn't mean all top-10 players will be busts.
  14. It's got to be gut wrenching for Matt Holliday and the family. Dude is struggling big time and there is nothing more difficult as a parent than watching your kid struggle. Do you have season tickets?
  15. The Capitals have scored two goals or less in 40 games. That does not include a couple more games when they scored the 3rd goal in OT. Oh, they also healthy scratched Miro again. I still can't believe they burn a year of his contract for, at this point, 21 games in the NHL. Piss poor decision by GMBM.
  16. Only thing that matters is that Ovechkin is scoring goals. To get to 30 after where he was a couple months ago is amazing. I wish it would've happened with the Caps being one of the worst teams in the league so the rebuild would move along but oh well.
  17. 100% agree with everyone talking about player development. Need high ceiling guys and they will need minutes to go through the growing pains. It's going to take time but next season will be far more enjoyable because there will be the beginning of a new core with Deni, Bilal, Vukcevic plus two first round picks this season. Plus I expect the Wiz to trade at least Kuzma for a couple of 1sts or a first and a young player which will help build assets. There is going to be a lot of losing next season but there is an actual plan finally.
  18. Let's also get into the myth that other teams are just great at drafting no matter where they are in the draft. If you don't think the Beal no-trade clause didn't set the Wiz back a few years, you don't know recent NBA history. Timberwolves draft KAT and Ant #1 overall in different years. They are first in the West. OKC was able to trade PG for a haul that included SGA and they drafted Chet #2. They've done a lot in trades. Boston drafted Tatum #3 and Brown at #3. They got a huge haul in trades. Pelicans got AD #1 then Zion #1. Kings got Fox #5 Dallas got Luka #3 Memphis got Ja #2 and Jackson Jr. #4. Unless you are a place that stars want to go, like LA, Phoenix or Miami, you are far more likely to build a winner with high draft picks. Yes, you could get fluky like Denver or the Bucks, but that's the exception to the rule.
  19. First, Porzingis was going to opt out. He wasn't staying so there was no keeping him. Now on to the rest. Orlando is currently the 3 seed and will finish in the 2-6 range. OKC spent two seasons being intentionally terrible after the PG trade and they are locked into a top-3 seed in the loaded West. The Spurs now have a generational talent. Charlotte and Detroit have core pieces that are always injured. They might be better if they were healthy but they've also had bad drafts. Tanking doesn't work if you don't have a good front office. The 76ers not drafting Tatum is an all time blunder in their process. Teams only win in the NBA with elite talent. The Wiz lack that and when they tried to be mid, they sucked at it and missed the playoffs in an awful conference. They are finally on the right path. It's going to be painful for a couple of season, but they will load up with high end talent and be better than they've been in the recent past. Or Ace Bailey. A top-2 pick next season is hugely important.
  20. Kuzma needs to be traded this off-season and Corey either this off-season or at the deadline. Aside from Deni, Bilal and Vuc, there is no one likely to be here long term nor should be. The tanking part of this rebuild is likely to continue for 2 more seasons.
  21. Unless Trout really just wants to be there for his entire career, they should trade him. They might be the worst team in baseball, aside from the A's.
  22. I do agree this is gonna take a while but I do hope that they are able to move Kuzma for 2 firsts this off-season to help move things along. He had a strong game against the Kings, and they've wanted him for a while. There will be other teams interested in adding him, especially on his contract.
  23. Until the 4th quarter which was awful basketball to watch.
