CW's "Black Lightening" premiered last night. It was pretty good.  Something different than the standard CW Superhero fare.

Agreed, a lot more adult too. I was pleasantly surprised.

So "Black Lightening" has a lot of adult content huh?  You sure it's on CW and not Pornhub?

I'll have to give Black Lightning a try. I don't mind Flash or Arrow but both seem kinda declining to me at the moment.

I'm enjoying Daredevil on Netflix though. Currently about halfway through Season 2. I wish I hadn't seen Punisher first since I kinda already know what happens now, but its still good television. I'm totally in love with the actress who plays Karen.

I finally watched the second season of Travelers and I'm still not sure why I like this show but I do.  It is nothing like Fringe but it somehow reminds of it anyway.

Great show. I think Season 2 outdid the first one too, including my favorite episode of the series, 17 minutes.

Can't wait for S3 of it.

Ha. Give it a shot. The pilot ep was definitely more adult than most shows on CW.

Netflix- DARK. It's german so the dubbed english voices are a little distracting for the first episode or two but the plot sucks you in so far you'll get over that very quickly. High-concept, mysterious, amazeballs. I'm obsessed. Small town with a nuclear power plant that sits on top of a system of caves.

The lives of 4 families intersect over a period of 99 years (1953-2019.) THE best show I've watched since LOST... before LOST jumped the shark, that is.

Anyway, DARK is incredible. INCREDIBLE.

It appears it's going to mix in real life struggles we see in today's current landscape (e.g. racial profiling, etc.) with a super hero.  You are right, most CW shows are geared to the PG kids/tween group (with exception of Supernatural).  Not that those shows aren't good, I watch all the super hero shows along with Riverdale.

I guess if nobody has seen it, before, try Supernatural, everything except the current season should be on Netflix (I think it's still on there).

You convinced me to finally give DARK a go- been sitting on my Netflixs' "my list" for the past month. I've become a bit a lethargic on the "kids unite to solve mystery" trope after watching Stranger Things and IT so close together. But I think its time to dive back in.

It's so much more than that. High-concept and very adult.  Let me know what you think.

Finally finished "TURN: Washington's Spies". Man, that was one hell of a show, and I was sad to see it end. So well done, across the board. Has almost sort of an assassins creed feel to it (except it's information in place of hidden blades, for the most part), which is kind of funny, but the way they tie real life characters in with the narrative is really well done.

I really liked the way in which they portrayed George Washington, as the man he likely was, behind all the fatherly worship he gets adorned with to this day. Always kept me on the edge of my seat.

After Hell on Wheels ended, this was definitely my most favorite AMC show. I'd highly highly recommend it to anyone who is a lover of history, and stealthy secretive high stakes narratives.

Can't  wait until Into lnto The Badlands starts back up and fills that void soon.

Just finished Mindhunter.. Loved it!

Yeah, once we got through episodes 1-3 we were hooked.  Takes a while but really does well once it hits its stride.

Perpetually behind, I am starting the Walking Dead.

Good show but better if you give it up after about season 3.  I’m here, 8-9 seasons in, just treading water because I’ve been watching since day 1.  These days, I complain after every episode.

Quality stuff for the first 3(ish) seasons.

Drug Lords on Netflix.  4 episodes an hour each.

Pablo Escobar

Cali Cartel

Frank Lucas

The Pettingill Clan

Nothing earth shattering but if you like stuff like this (and I do) they're well done.  Good interviews with the bad guys (Pablo's chief assassin is a scary dude) and the people that were trying to catch them (the fired up old guy who was after Frank Lucas was really enjoyable).

Didn't know anything about the Pettingill Clan, essentially a family from Australia that was in the heroin business.  The mother, somehow, escaped jail time.

Just started watching The Man in the High Castle, (just got Amazon Prime at the beginning of the year for $49 for the first year.) Really enjoying the alternative universe. It's only two seasons so far, so I am trying not to power through it.
