Only thing wrong with that theory is that fans were just as cold on Murphy after his first year as they are on Anderson lol...and even moreso on Galette considering he spent his first year rehabbing.

Agree.  But also to that point why does it have to be one versus the other?  The Giants collected D linemen.  If Galette is gone, I hope they got more in mind than just Anderson. I like Anderson but he's just one dude.  Guys get hurt.  Teams rotate, etc.

My gut is they withdrew the offer because something else is cooking.  Clearly they are pushing things behind the scenes right now considering all the meetings they've done of late.

yep, I'd have zero problem with them keeping Murphy, Galette, Anderson, getting Hankins, and adding to the whole shibang early in the draft.

The withdrawing the offer thing is...interesting. You suddenly don't want a guy on the team you just made an offer to? That's done for a specific reason imo.

The other possible thing might be the FO has just given him a deadline to make a decision by and that deadline has passed and they have come to the decision they are not waiting around forever for someone to make their decision. I hope however it is indicative of a different signing - We need pass rush and we need more horses to bring the heat .

Yep, that's true, too. I can easily see Allen taking a stance of "Look, you either want to be with the Redskins or not." As well as, the leaks that the Skins' offer was "low and laughable" can probably be linked directly to Galette, especially when that one guy on twitter posted a screenshot of texts where Galette is relaying info to him. Allen abhors leaks on the team unless he's controlling them lol...

Adding Pryor to the Jets WR corp is not the laughing stock everyone on here thinks.

Kearse is one of the most underrated playmakers in the league IMO.  Robby Anderson is gonna explode as well if he keeps his head on straight.

Seriously dangerous combo as long as their QB play is halfway decent

Though, I'm sure Galette didn't appreciate it the coaching staff probably did him a major favor by limiting his minutes and keeping his snap count low. He was coming off two major rehabilitations and easing him back in was the right way to go. They played it safe with and for him.

They also used him in specific situations that he excelled at... He complained about how effective he was in limited action, but those situations are what made him look good and kept him fresh... Not sure anyone will throw a ton of money at him, but if he had played 20 - 30% more snaps in other scenarios, not sure he would have looked as effective.

If ever there was a guy who should thank the organization he just left it should be Galette. Gave him a chance after legal trouble, then gave him another 2 years of rehab and even after that gave him a year and still made him an offer.

We should have an All-ES team.

QB - Colt Brennan

RB - Jesse Lumsden

WR - Anthony "Tall" Mix

LB - Robert McCune

lmfao, there was another tall WR that caught a few passes/TDs in preseason (forget his name) that people were going nuts over. Also, Mason the running back (possibly best preseason RB to ever wear a uniform).

Yeah, when he was in trouble and hurt, he would have played for pennies "for the love of football".  Now that he's healthy, he wants to go back to those old paychecks.  It's kind of a catch 22 for me, as I would love to see if those hurries become sacks this season.  I think the hesitancy on him in general is primarily related to the injuries not what he is capable of doing on the field.  But at the end of the day, he's still only a specialist, not an every down player and annoying as F every time his fingers get to tweeting.  If it was possible to bring him back for in the 3M range, I'd be willing to take another look though.

This is a good call.  A short while ago, I was thinking about the idea that adding Hankins would shore up our run D, which in turn (theoretically) should lead to more 3rd and longs... which would allow Galette more opportunities.

Anyhow, Skins could definitely use more of a speed rusher.  I really like what McPhee brings to the table, but he certainly doesn’t address the speed angle.  This is another instance where signing Hankins might open up the draft and - the FO would likely feel more comfortable about drafting a speedier pass rusher (Harold Landry) in the 1st.

Signing Hankins and McPhee (to multi year deals) and drafting a speed guy also gives the FO more options in terms of dealing with Smith next year (or even the possibility of trading Kerrigan).

Edit:  @UK SKINS FAN '74Great minds... lol.

None of that helps him hold onto critical passes or run good routes or block. I was really pumped when they signed him last year. But there is clearly something off there. Jay's offense is designed to get WRs open. He struggled with separation based on not running crisp routes and not understanding where he was supposed to be. Then when he did get open he dropped some critical passes. As  result, he and Kirk never gained a rapport.

I wish him well - but he will need to change his approach - not necessarily his work either as I believe he has worked hard based on all reports about him. But is he working smart? Based on his performance I would say no.

Unfortunate...I really liked Galette.  I still think he's an elite pass rusher who teams have to prepare for.  He has a skill set that is going to be hard to replace.

Two years on the Bench and many more starts on twitter than the field......how much you paying for that?

He hasn't fit this description in years.   With that said I am a bit disappointed, especially if it also does not result in a Hankins signing. The Murphy/Anderson post was interesting. Next to Allen Anderson was my favorite pick.  But let's not eliminate the possibility that Murphy had artificial help.

WTF is this Gallette is elite talk about??!?! Is everyone taking crazy pills. He was questionable elite when he had his best season ever 4 years ago. He is 2 achilles deep and 5 years older.

Man, give me a 5th or 6th round project, we have 3 OLBs on the roster and there is little doubt Anderson is only going to get better.Anderson is not a project, he's a developmental piece.

Anyway, that 4th OLB spot is the least of my concerns and we do have talent at that position. So again. bye Felicia

I like that we pulled the offer away. At some point you have to move on. You make an offer. You might negotiate some but you can't let it drag on. Now we can try to sign different guys. Because every time you now wanted to pursue an other player, you might think but what if Junior wants to come?

He could commit playing in D.C. by agreeing to the offer or go into negotiations if they where close in want he wanted. But with us withdrawing I think it says that what Junior wants is way higher them what we want to offer.
