Mexico will pay for the wall with the new trade deal setup that finally favors the U.S. first. If if that’s how trump wanted to frame the trade deal he should have specifically framed the deal so the real dollars ended up in a border wall fund. He didn’t do that... what is actually in the trade deal? Do you know? His reciprocal tariff act sounds like a good idea, but it isn’t law yet. The new nafta deal isn’t ground breaking. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2018/10/3/17930092/usmca-nafta-trump-trade-deal-explained 37 minutes ago, Force1958 said: Primarily Obamacare, the single worst decision he could have made. It's cost my family so much money it isn't even funny. Then there was the ignoring of our military to the point where some had to pay for bullet proof vests out of their own pocket. He certainly drew a line in the sand as far as our enemies were concerned, then quickly did nothing. How much money did Obama care cost your family? like, In dollars? I agree Obama was indecisive and maybe even weak on international relations...

Fergasun
@Force1958 Can you point to specific public policy that cost you under Obamacare? And explain how that was not a result of a choice by your employer? Also, during Trump's campaign (rallied) did any of his promises, statements or rhetoric strike you as racist or sexist or even against American demcracy itself? NoCalMike
SOTU Summary: I can't win on the issues so I will demonize immigrants some more and warn everyone about the socialism boogeyman. Oh and also, please don't arrest me or my family. Trump is just using the modern GOP playbook. Losing on the actual issues doesn't matter to them, because they will just create fake issues and make those the forefront of American politics. It is up to the American people not to fall for it. He tried to tout being the #1 energy producer of natural gas and oil, well yeah, except we have been since before he took office. Not to mention the "70% approval" of his SOTU speech is only half the story. For full context you need the other half that the same polling organization found that this was the most partisan watched SOTU in history so they basically polled a majority of Trump supporters whether they viewed his speech positively or not. redskinss
The sound minds in this thread (you know who you are) keep me from losing all faith in humanity. Everytime I get into some fruitless political argument on Facebook I just want to tear my hair out and afterwards I'm just frustrated and feeling hopeless. I love seeing the intelligent replies to the nonsense. Thank you to all of you for my sanity.

Riggo-toni
There is evidence of looming socialism - we have passed a trillion new dollars in subsidies to farmers, we are retreating from global markets, and we have a structural deficit of a trillion dollars. This has to stop!

NoCalMike
This is why it frustrates me that there is such a disconnect between Trump Supporters and reality when it comes to the economy. These folks refuse to acknowledge that Obama did anything to help the economy and that it magically revived when Trump came into office, so in their minds any time they see "Trump reversing Obama era......" they see it as a good thing, blindly. They don't even attempt to connect the dots and think, "hmm, maybe some of those Obama era regulations helped some of us, even if we think Trump took a good thing and made it better" <---- not true btw, but for the sake of trying to get through to a Trump supporter. Well, now, I'll also point out some economic indicators that at least sound good for Trump. Latest seasonally-adjusted unemployment is 4%. (And it's hit 3.7% twice). Been a long time since it was that low. And no, the economy hasn't added as many jobs in the two years of Trump as it did in the two years before him. But then, it's a lot easier to add jobs to a crappy economy than it is to a good one. I don't want want to try to make the current economy sound bad, or anything. At least by some measures, it actually is Great. Now, I certainly think it's valid to ask how much Trump has done, as opposed to how much is due to inheriting a steadily growing economy. But then, it's an American tradition to give POTUS way too much credit/blame for things that simply happen during his term. Giving Trump credit might not be justified, but it is traditional. And granted, that's before we get into the fact that we're due for a recession (which we will give Trump too much blame for), and that when it hits, we will have already exploded the deficit before the recession. And that absolutely is Trump and the GOP's fault.
Sacks 'n' Stuff
Oh goodie, this Force cat is still around. I got pretty occupied with Executive Time (what I'm now calling my lesbian pornography binge watching sessions) and was worried you guys had already crucified him and that I'd miss out on all the fun. Gonna take a nap but really looking forward to partaking in the festivities later this evening.
