Good lord! If you guys want to say what she did was "brave", so be it, but it doesn't actually make her brave

The funny thing about your post is that I don’t think a single person disagrees with you here.

I think we’re focusing on a different aspect, is all. And I think we’ve decided that aspect is more important at this point in time.

We've seen this play before, they suddenly grow a spine when its all over, want to come out and tell everyone how horrible they felt about doing what they were doing.

'They' as in who?  What I see is 99% of the GOP standing with Trumpism right now today.

just like any other Republican. We've seen this play before, they suddenly grow a spine when its all over, want to come out and tell everyone how horrible they felt about doing what they were doing.

Again, who?  I don't see very many republicans in any seats, anywhere - going against Trump.

This is all a strategic move, history will not be kind to the GOPers that followed Trump down this path and continue to do so. I don't know if her future plans are a book deal or higher office, but she knows that going far right with Trump is walking the plank.

That would be great for our country if that was the case.  However, I see no signs that Trumpism is dying off anytime in the near future.  Trump is the GOP.  So I'd say if this is merely strategy on her behalf, it's poorly calculated - because she will be forgotten, by the time - if and when - the party cuts ties with Trump.

Any of the ones that are on their way out. Flake, Boehner, Ryan, Bolton, etc. In the end, they tell the same sob story about how they were just going with the flow and they never liked what they were doing. Oh yeah, here is my new book...

Don't forget, Cheney didn't lose her job, just a position. I'm sure she isn't happy, but it isn't like if you or I lose our jobs. Its not like she's going to be eating cold salami in the basement while flicking her bean to soap operas. Liz will be just fine, they all end up just fine. If they weren't going to be fine, then they would've continued to tow the line, which she did for several years. Even now, she isn't being replaced because she decided to stand up to or try to change horrible, racist, ineffective policies, she simply refused to lie about an obvious fact. A fact that McCarthy literally just flipped on again today (election results).

Since the media and a lot of folks seem so smitten with Liz Cheney's integrity, maybe the next question she is asked should be about voter suppression bills being passed all over the country in order to allow Trump to get back into the White House, because guess what those bills are designed to in theory help out all of the GOP not just the Trumpists.   You see, if you are truly concerned about the integrity of elections, it goes further than Trump.  Trump is a dummy, but he displays it proudly for all to see.  Showing disdain for the man is not going out on a limb much.  I'll buy into her courage when she extends her disdain for the big lie, to the efforts that have come afterwards to disenfranchise voters in future elections.

She needs to vote for all legislation that encourages voter participation. Actions speak louder than words.

Just caught a bit of Adam Kinzinger on CNN and to my point he is making statements like "There's an election every 2 years, democracy will survive"  Now up until 4 years ago I'd probably agree for the most part but what I am seeing by a lot of these never-Trumper GOP reps is them trying to reduce the entire issue into a Trump problem, when really it is a Trumpism problem.  I don't hear Cheney or any of the other never-Trumpers speaking up much at all about the actual voter suppression efforts going on.  Now, maybe it is because the media is bringing them on to have a Trump hatefest, but in reality none of them are really being asked about the voter restrictions being a direct result of Trump losing the election because of the massive support and turnout for Biden.  To me it is letting them off the hook easy to try and appear as being more rational than the GQP when in reality if they don't see voter restrictions as just a big of an issue then they are pretty much willing to stay quiet and go forward with a system that will be designed to make less voices heard.   Right now, some real courage would not only be railing against Trump himself but saying explicitly that everyone having the right to vote, despite who it means would win elections, is an essential cornerstone of Democracy and they refuse to support any efforts or legislation that doesn't agree.

Trump will be back in office in 24. The GOP is laying the seeds to steal the election in 24. If a state doesn't vote Trump; the gop will toss out Dam votes as invalid. If that doesn't work; they'll make sure the election goes to house. The GOP house will then give Trump the win. Yes, GOP is winning back the house next year.

Another prophet of disaster, that says the ship is lost.

Another profit of disaster, leaving you to count the cost.

Torturing us with visions, tormenting us with fear.

Predicting war of millions, in the hope that one appears.

At this point, this poem is what sounds like the deluded fantasy.

War HAS appeared. And those pushing it are still pushing it. They are painting the violence as patriotism, and even worse as no big deal.
But there is no action taken against any of them. In any way. They are traitors who spout treasonous rhetoric all day long and nothing is done.

Folks need to stop pretending it is anything less than what it is. This sort of thing doesn't just go away, and while 'reasonable people' try to go about the regular everyday, these people are non-stop plotting against all of us.

Marjorie Taylor Greene confronts Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outside House chamber, Washington Post reports

Quote

Ocasio-Cortez left the House chamber late Wednesday afternoon ahead of Greene, who shouted "Hey Alexandria" twice to get her attention.

Two Washington Post reporters witnessed the exchange and reported Ocasio-Cortez did not stop. Greene caught up with Ocasio-Cortez and began shouting at her and asking why she supports antifa, a far-left activist group, and Black Lives Matter, falsely labeling them "terrorist" groups.

"You don't care about the American people," Greene shouted, the Post reported. "Why do you support terrorists and antifa?"

Greene shouted at Ocasio-Cortez that she was failing to defend her "radical socialist" beliefs by declining to publicly debate her. Ocasio-Cortez did not stop to respond to Greene and only turned around once and threw her hands in the air.

****ing Nazi you mean.
This is exactly how they behaved in the Reichstag as they began to be elected. They shouted down all opposition, and acted like bullies. She didn't just decide to go out there and spout this garbage directly at AOC (ie: someone at the top of their enemies list.) This is a planned confrontation.

Now they can use mass media to paint it in any way they see fit. AOC was right to not respond, and that is also part of the plan. If she had, her facts and reason would not break through the bellowing. But her not responding is exactly what they wanted as well.
This is her job. To disrupt, to bellow, to yell the lies and to put it on tape.

This woman isn't a clown, she's a weapon in their war against us.

We need to stop behaving like this is anything less than it is, because the worst you can think is exactly what it is.

AOC is a 31 year old who grew up in the Bronx. MTG is a 46 year old from bum**** GA. AOC would probably have gone HAM on her ass.

That being said, while it would have been insanely satisfying to see AOC knock MTG into next week, it would have only given the right wingers ammo (along with possible criminal charges against AOC).
