One has nothing to do with the other. He may be a jerk himself but still be right abotu this. What Will Smith did should never be accepted, period. Was it a tasteless joke? Probably. But there is never a reason to hit someone from words. He is in the front row of the Oscars not like his life sucks and has to know he is fair game on jokes. Had he immediately truly apologized to Chris Rock when he won the award then OK people do stupid things. But from what I can tell he has no real remorse. I mean seriously we were supposed to learn at an early age sticks and stones... etc. Take it up with him after the show. Leave the show right then. That would have made more sense. Just get up and leave. Also, not nearly enough is being discussed in the media about how well Chris Rock handled it. He did not strike back but held his ground. Then gathered himself and moved on. And unless I missed it he has not piled on after preferring to stay quiet. If I missed that then my mistake. I have honestly been trying to ignore most of this.
