The One & Only Josh Johnson Jubilation Jamboree thread

Jokes aside, I really like this Johnson.

(Ok, really now, jokes aside).

What a cool, easygoing guy who's genuinely thankful for the opportunity he has.  After the game on Sunday, he was just so down to earth, took every question that he was asked.  He was given the whole gameplan, they didn't hold anything back for him.  He talked about being around so much football, so many systems, nothing really surprises him.  He was asked if, since he's so comfortable with learning new things, could he play fearlessly?  He went "I have no choice but to play fearlessly, I was on the couch last week, I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time....what is there to lose?  What is there to really lose from getting cut so much? This is your opportunity, you take it, you take it, go with it and see what happens."

To be honest, the deck is stacked against him to become something in the NFL at this point in his career.  But if Kurt Warner can, there's no reason he can't.  I really liked what I saw, he's mobile, he can move around the pocket and his throws looked on point.  IMO, that last pick wasn't on him, he threw a great ball that Doctson could have caught but Doctson allowed that DB to get inside and just beat him for the ball.

I am rooting hard for this guy.  It's so cliche but this is a real underdog story and this is the exact type of dude everyone wants to root for.  I hope that he can be at least our #2 next year if Colt isn't back.  I think he gives us a chance to win on Sunday.  Honestly, I think the Giants game last weekend is a different outcome if Johnson started.  I think we would have held onto the ball more in the first half, won back some of the time of possession and kept our defense off the field.  I'm not saying we would have won that game if Johnson starts,  I'm just saying we might not have been as embarrassed.

I would love for him to lead a players only meeting, and basically say I don't know what the **** is wrong around here, but I am here to get us into the playoffs, and I will give my all, but I need your help.... lets do this... Or some bull **** like that

We have lost the traditional leaders, Qbs... ILBs are either benched or ****ing. All we have left is Swearinger, and his words are probably ringing hollow about now.  Even AP had to dodge some news lately.

Its time to ride the... JJ Express.... sicko.

There was a players only circle on the practice field today apparently, after practice. Went on for 10 minutes too. Maybe that’s what was happening. That would be helpful right now, if anything just to give the team some confidence going into Jacksonville that “hey, we can do this, we can beat them”. Even if it’s not true.

So we started with a wet noodle, progressed to a dirty sanchez and now our savior is a big johnson.

For cripes sakes!

"now our savior is a big Johnson..." Lol- hopefully that's not on viagra.  We would be flagged 15 yards for a Ped violation.

Can Johnson win 3 games in a row?

That's really all they need him to do

I think so.. I believe his mobility is going to make some big plays.. keep plays alive you know I'm starting to get all giddy..Reed is out so we should see more Vernon Davis I could see him and Vernon Davis hooking up we have Chris Thompson healthy Crowder's healthy..let's all believe in the ..in Johnson

Could Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Drew Brees win 3 games with this team?!?!

I know this is a joke but Bellichick + Brady, Payton + Brees, yeah, probably.

Im not sure Rodgers+who.

Reid + Maholmes might do it. Hell, Reid + a healthy Alex Smith might even have a chance...

Feels like the 'Skins are due for a "long forgotten QB resurfaces to lead team to the playoffs" kind of story.  Everything else has been the complete opposite of that feel-good kind of thing in 2018.

The thing though is, even if Josh Johnson goes out and balls, I still say the remaining season falls on the shoulders of the defense fixing whatever issues they have had since October.  Can't give up 30+ points a game and expect to win out, let alone win a game at all.

I’ll start by saying that I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Josh Johnson.  Good for him, getting a last chance he never expected to get, to not only be on a roster but start a game in December.

But I fully expect him to be dreadful against this Jags defense and for everyone to be dogging him out by halftime, perhaps even some calls for Sanchez.

Did any one of his ok every team  ever try to feature him the way Baltimore is with Lamar, or we did with RG3? Or was he to be cut from the pocket passer mold, as the only option? As per had been OCs mandate league wide for decades, even when it repeatedly cost them their jobs.

Looking at when he came into the league, Cam Newton was the closest to him in terms of a coach clearly tailoring their playbook to the QBs skill set, and that wasnt until 3 or 4 years after Josh's first year.  I believe Cam was the first modern day mobile QB whose OC clearly embraced a skill set that didn't match his preferred pocket passer playbook.

You know where I am going. The guy may be able to win games for us, when basically all of us wrote off the season. The playoff scenarios I see watching real games with real fans in attendance, still show us in the hunt.

MEMO TO JAY: Do not try to use him the way all his former teams did, where he clearly failed miserably.
