The number of people here who rush to make excuses for the defense after they get a few early game stops just because the offense didn’t do anything is just astounding to me. The mark of a defense playing well is, well….playing well. Not instantly folding because the offense does nothing. Not to mention time of possession in the first half was damn near identical. NoCalMike Posted September 25, 2022 Share Posted September 25, 2022 If these same passes were called in the first half they would have had a chance to go for bigger yards because the Eagles were determined not to get beat over the top. That first play to Curtis Samuel was a good example, gets a ton of yards because it was a play designed to actually attack what the Eagles D was doing. Now it is late in the game, the Eagles D has just crept up in the shorter and intermediate areas of the field so Turner is calling plays that just go right into where the defenders are.
