Has your team support wained due to ownership or can you see past it?

  1. 1. Will you attend a game and support the team while Dan Snyder is the owner of the team, regardless of success?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I would start attending games if Dan was no longer the owner of the team.

We can only hope there are more emails that somehow tie Dan in with all this, but it's probably unlikely at this point considering the burial of the "report" that was put together.

Between all this crap, the relentless commercials, the mafia-like power structure of the "shield," the horrible state of the WFT, it's really, really hard to keep enjoying this **** on even the most basic "Hey, football's on" level.

I don't really care about whatever dumb stuff Gruden said (quite possibly on his private email account) a decade ago, since I'm not a wokester.

The one Gruden angle that interests me is that he was an ESPN/ABC/Disney employee when at least some of those emails were sent--back when he was on Monday Night Football. If he sent them from his work account (not talking about Bruce's emails, here), then what did ESPN/ABC/Disney know and when did they know it?

What interests me most is who leaked this info about Gruden, and why...and of course, what else is in Bruce's toxic email bilge and whether any of that has also been leaked. I haven't read every single account of this, but does the NYT has other emails from this tranche that it's working on for further stories (corroboration, defamation concerns, etc.)?

The "Dan leaked it" theory is the most interesting I've heard so far, although I suppose anyone in the league office with an axe to grind against Gruden could have done it.

You know every sports reporter in America is feverishly working their NFL sources to try to get in on this gold rush.

Gruden sent it from his personal email account

Again I truly think he’s clueless.  The guy clearly needs to be in the building more or something because it’s shocking this all happening without him seemly knowing.  Can you imagine if somehow the McVays were tied into this and Snyder was completely innocent? Wild.

We used to have a thread of attractive women (though clothed, mostly) in the Tailgate.  Before the Dark Times...

Well according to the NY Times piece, Bruce Allen was not only sending hardcore pornos through his work email but also topless pictures of Redskins cheerleaders. Pictures taken without the cheerleaders' consent

A beautiful women thread seams like a G rated Disney movie compared to Bruce Allen's internets usage

Email-gate has the ability to set the League back 10 years and no one... not even Snyder... is safe when it comes to the integrity and business goals of the NFL.  The Redskins investigation is just the tip of the iceberg.  Do not forget players who felt like they were colluded against (Kaep, Paxman, Dez etc), and the union may find that the owners dealt in bad faith when negotiating new deals.  This is going to be bad for off-the-field news for a lot of organizations and owners.  Also, the cheerleader stuff is probably pervasive with each team.  The lawsuits will come fast and often if those 650k emails are ordered to be released.  Politicians etc will take a gigantic poop on the League and public opinion can/will destroy the 'good ol' boys' club.  This is not good for the WFT and Snyder, most likely, will not survive long after the upcoming Super Bowl.

My thought is this stuff got leaked NOT because of anything racist, misogynistic or homophobic he wrote.  It's about him taking shots at Goodell and some select owners.  Then the good ole boy club decided to make an example of him.  I wish they'd make an example out of Snyder, but they don't want to set a precedent.

Not defending Gruden, although he was just a 48 year old teenager when these emails started ;).

This is very interesting to me regarding the topless cheerleader photos/images. This sounds a lot like the videos, where the women were filmed topless while adjusting props they were using to cover their bare breasts. I wonder if these were still images from the videos? I doubt the cheerleaders would've purposefully posed for topless photos, but ... maybe I guess.

You can’t make a example of Snyder without proof he knew or participated. Currently no one has said he was involved. No former executives, no women in the harassment case, no players, etc. Even players only spoke of Allen since this broke.  You can’t drop the hammer on Snyder on the basis of “How did you not know this was going on?”

Snyder did not have an email account. He’s safe. Period.

Yeah....start reading everyone's emails and see what happens. Careful what you wish for.

I get it. People say stuff all the time in private emails. Problem is when you are dumb enough to do it on a work email system you deserve the consequences of your stupidity.

I am sure there are clauses in the ownership papers that cover 'loss of confidence.'  It is a helluva stretch, but there have been many high-profile political and workplace accusations with the WFT in close succession.  Workplace issues are federal issues and the last thing the League will want is the feds sniffing through emails etc.  Imagine a sub-committee issuing a subpoena to investigate racial, misogynistic,  anti-gay, and sexual misconduct in the NFL.  It's a wrap and the owners will eat each other to prevent that level of scrutiny which will make it harder to control the flow of information that develops or the info the League has stored that will be self-incriminating.  This is not over.  Snyder is not safe.  If you think his sabbatical is self-imposed, I guarantee you're wrong.  I'd bet both of my ring fingers the League mandated he stay out of the limelight to allow the cheerleader/ workplace investigation to die out.  Snyder is safe if the Gruden thing dies a quick death... If not, especially with the topless cheerleader emails now in the lexicon,  Snyder is undercooked toast... and the heat is rising.

Agreed.

Beyond that, I think everyone always expected that Jon Gruden was a knuckle dragging neanderthal.  The e-mails just confirmed it.

Seriously though, what the **** is next?

Are we gonna find out del Rio and Rivera have been running midget tossing at training camp?

Is it possible for this not to be rock bottom for this **** bag of a franchise?

Im sorry but I laughed at the idea of Ron telling Taylor to throw midget spirals to Terry at training camp

yeah I’m going to hell for that…

That's probably how we ended up with Taylor.

He was brought in for montez and chase to throw at a bullseye and they said, hey this guys got some moves.

At this point this is like the Big One at Daytona.  Pass the popcorn and bud light and watch cars flip everywhere.

Funny though ESPN was saying earlier that if we fired people for emails like Jon’s we would have to fire half the league immediately.

For the WFT, this is the issue that's going to keep the team lawyers up at night. Any releases in settlement agreements with cheerleaders might extend to cover this, but then again they might not. Sending topless photos out beyond the organizations is a whole level of legal risk above circulating them within the building.

It won't get traced back to Dan the Email-less, for sure, but it could still put the organization at risk.

Snyder might not be directly involved in anything nefarious, but at some point you have to look at it from the perspective that everyone Snyder hires seems to have such a poor opinion of the guy or just feel they can get away with running this frat boy circus under his nose and he is too oblivious to notice at all and/or get involved to put a stop to it.   This stuff has pretty much reached as high as it can without touching Snyder directly (yet) but I think there is a legitimate case to be made by the NFL at large that Snyder is incapable of running a functioning NFL franchise.  Whether that alone is enough to pressure him to sell? Who knows, but you couple all of this with the fact that the franchise has been a loser on the field for the majority of his time as owner and......ugh.

I’m 99% sure now that Goodell and the owners actually viewed the Wilkinson investigation as an opportunity to blackmail and control as many people as they could.

That’s all it ever was for them.

I never considered this but you are probably right. And they probably got so so much dirt.
