Has your team support wained due to ownership or can you see past it?

  1. 1. Will you attend a game and support the team while Dan Snyder is the owner of the team, regardless of success?

    • Yes
    • No
    • I would start attending games if Dan was no longer the owner of the team.

This follows along with what I said about reason for taking so long to rename the team is because there might be a shift in ownership

This is why most of us haven’t given up. Irrational optimism despite overwhelming facts to the contrary. Not only is he not leaving, he’s much stronger now and will leave it to his kid who didn’t have the relatively difficult life Dan had in comparison, meaning the kid will be 100x worse.  For those hoping to outlive Dan be careful what you wish for. 😂

The NFL does not plan to reopen its investigation into the Washington Football Team and does not intend to publicly release any written materials related to the investigation conducted by attorney Beth Wilkinson, a person familiar with the situation said Tuesday, despite calls for more transparency.

The league remained unwavering in those stances on Tuesday even as the NFL Players Association and others connected to the investigation sought access to more information about a trove of emails obtained by Wilkinson during her probe of the Washington team’s workplace.

Jon Gruden resigned Monday as coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after reports that he used racist, homophobic and misogynistic language in emails to Bruce Allen, Washington’s former team president, and others.

Allen faces no immediate formal discipline by the NFL, but it would be “highly unlikely” that Allen would be permitted to work in the league again, the person with knowledge of the matter said Tuesday.

According to that person, it is not expected that any NFL franchise will pursue Allen, who has been out of the league since being fired as Washington’s team president by owner Daniel Snyder in December 2019. But it would be highly unlikely that the NFL would allow Allen to be hired even if any team were to be interested, said that person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.

This is the reason behind the email leaks.  Bruce talked to Schar and is now paying the price. He’s black balled forever. Knifing Jay’s brother is a nice bonus.

Quote

"It is truly outrageous that after the NFL's 10-month long investigation involving hundreds of witnesses and 650,000 documents related to the longtime culture of harassment and abuse at the Washington Football Team, the only person to be held accountable and lose their job is the coach of the Las Vegas Raiders," lawyers Lisa Banks and Debra Katz said in a statement. "If the NFL felt it appropriate to release these offensive emails from Jon Gruden, which it obtained during its investigation into the Washington Football Team, it must also release the findings related to the actual target of that investigation. Our clients and the public at large deserve transparency and accountability. If not, the NFL and (commissioner) Roger Goodell must explain why they appear intent on protecting the Washington Football Team and owner Dan Snyder at all costs."

No chance these will get released.

Owners and NFL want this investigation gone and forgotten. The idea that they would actively use it hang daggers over people would go against that desire since it keeps the investigation in the forefront.

This is not some blackmail conspiracy. Its either a the completion of a completely understandable offshoot investigation, or a leak.

But it's not a leak. The article states the NFL contacted the Raiders directly concerning the emails. Is it a leak if they purposefully submitted the emails to the organization? It's not like someone acted independently of the league, the league itself has stated they sent the emails to them.

The NFL having the information is expected and is not a leak. They were the ones in charge of the investigation, they are the ones who would likely hold the results of it after its conclusion.

The possible leak would have been the information getting to the public the way it did.

I think it was inevitable the emails got out once the Raiders received them. They tried to get out ahead of the story and say it wasn't a big deal but then more emails came out. Once the NFL sent those to the Raiders org. it was only a matter of time.

The league also voted to ban Dwight Schar from ever having an ownership interest in an NFL team again. Schar was using information from Bruce against Dan. This simply closes out that betrayal and eliminates a 10 year coaching contract no NFL owner liked as a precedent.

You can’t go after the owners as an employee or former employee. The second the Beth Wilkinson  report was leaked to 106.7 any chance of real discipline against Dan ended. The owners are not going to put up with any leaks from an investigator or the league. That was the best thing that could happen to Dan. They all protected him after that and made everyone else pay.

I lost any hope of Dan having any competence after he hired Zorn, but the way he played this one is impressive. I tip my hat to him.

There was no report, it wasn't leaked to 1067 the fan, they even issued a correction. The whole investigation was a sham that lead to an oral report being given to the league. The only thing that the NFL seems to have in writing is all these emails.

On Monday, 106.7 The Fan issued the following correction: “On Friday morning, we reported on excerpts of a report prepared by the NFL’s independent investigator into the Washington Football Team, Beth Wilkinson. We believed, based on information provided to us by our source, that the report was final and had been delivered to the NFL League Office. The League has denied receiving a final report, however, both in a general statement and in response to specific questions from us. Based on those unequivocal denials, we now believe that our source was mistaken and that the excerpts of the report that were shared with us have not yet been sent to the NFL. We do believe in the authenticity of the documents we reviewed, and that they are from the Wilkinson investigation, but we are unable to confirm that the report was a final draft or that it had been delivered to the League Office. As soon as we are able to report anything further on this, we will let you know — both as to what occurred in our Friday report and regarding the Wilkinson investigation generally.”

It's also possible that NFL leadership didn't want the info out but that someone lower down the food chain there did. The Raiders also had the info. Maybe Jon angered somebody in that organization.

This is the most likely IMO. Someone is leaking and talking to the Times. I will be shocked if more stuff doesnt come to light.

So, Jay gruden today in his weekly radio show on team 980, was asked if he was ever questioned by Beth Wilkinson about the teams toxic environment. He said he wasn’t ever questioned by her, and that he was never made aware of anything happening with Dan and Bruce and that he thought his coaching staff worked really hard and the players too, to do their best to win games.

Jay doesn't seem like he has enough guile to participate in Bruce's reindeer games. I believe him. It does seem odd that the "thorough" investigation never contacted the head coach during the time in question.

It's possible the first thing the Wilkinson outfit did was go through everyones emails and once they saw Jay wasn't actively participating in the ring of debauchery they decided not to press him.

There was a draft report with recommended discipline including forced divestiture. Your quote  of the correction outlines that fact. As soon as that was leaked it was over. Seems like Wilkinson completely went rogue and over stepped her role. She even tried to put private team information into the public record in a dispute with one of Snyder’s lawyers. Availing private team information in a public court setting is the biggest blunder a lawyer working for the NFL could ever make. Controlled private arbitration with the owner’s lackey, the NFL commissioner, as the ultimate arbiter is the NFL model.

Maybe if Beth had acted with more professionalism with the information and reports in her care, then maybe this might have ended differently. With her going rogue and Bruce betraying Dan with Schar, the owners were not going to put up with it. Would have set a horrible precedent. Not only did they not really do anything to Dan, they completely further empowered him.

I missed all this with the draft report and the leaking and what-not. What exactly happened? Or where can I read up on it? All I heard (was not closely following) is that she gave a verbal report to the League which seemed pretty toothless.

Putting 2 and 2 together: Wilkinson likely leaked the draft report to 106.7 and she tried to leak more info in public court that Dan was sued and paid off an employee he sexually harassed on the team plane. That was way outside the scope of what she was hired to do. The NFL shut it down, slapped Dan on the wrist and decapitated the minority owner Schar from ever being involved in the NFL again and just did the same to Bruce with the Gruden emails.
