FrFan
3 hours ago, PeterMP said: Viral load is poorly associated with extent of disease for most of these types of viruses and that appears to be the case here. Raoult and professor Perronne (famous virologist specialized in Infectious, parasitic and tropical diseases ) think otherwise, a study was conducted saying in case of a strong viral load, the presence of the virus also remained longer in the body. The presence of the virus would be more around 20 than 14 days, similar to SARS in 2003. In another study of about 100 patients in China, doctors also reported some success in using the drug duo to reduce the viral load in patients. The link to the chinese study I posted says " But for TTCR, the body temperature recovery time and the cough remission time were significantly shortened in the HCQ treatment group " Christian Perronne: "The shootout received by Didier Raoult is also linked to quarrels of egos" As for the european "Discovery" test, it does not take into account Professor Raoult's protocol (hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin as soon as the first symptoms appear), but only hydroxychloroquine, and this in cases in situations of aggravated pathologies. For this, this test demonstrates an absence of ethics. They are told that they will be drawn, and possibly not treated, while knowing very well the high mortality figures for this disease. How are you going to debunk Raoult's claims when you're not using his protocol ? None of these countries are using the same dosage or combo Edited April 4, 2020 by FrFan
Jumbo
smerconish is now on record with the statement that governors and other state officials, along with potus and his admin, slow to follow stay-at-home especially, but the other basic measure too, are going to be as responsible as the traveling individuals themselves for illnesses and deaths where people are listening and playing it safest, even as hard as it is to do for those folks, too it might be just (as in justice) to see ron de santis for instance, and like-minded govs/officials, brought to murder charges under some legal/constitutional form with execution as a maximum penalty at some point after this
China
Most believe stopping virus is larger priority than saving economy: poll The majority of Americans believe that fighting and stopping the coronavirus outbreak should be the federal government's top priority, ahead of fixing the country's crippled economy, a new Public Agenda-USA Today-Ipsos poll finds. According to the poll, conducted March 27-30, 72 percent of Americans surveyed said the government should focus on stopping the outbreak of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, while 21 percent said saving the economy should be the main focus. More than 80 percent of respondents said they supported restarting the economy gradually to avoid putting more people's lives in danger. Additionally, 74 percent said they believed that state and local governments were doing all they could to fight the virus, while only half said they believed the same of the federal government. This was largely split along party lines, with 74 percent of Republicans saying the federal government was doing all it could, while just 33 percent of Democrats said the same. Respondents said they expected the crisis to last for months, with 23 percent saying they believe the measures to deal with the outbreak will be in place for at least six months. No Excuses
10 minutes ago, Llevron said: What’s crazy about that Dr. Drew clip is they won’t hold the **** responsible The social contract of this country is that you mostly hold people who say wildly dumb and usually false things accountable by not giving them a platform. Unfortunately, at least 30% of the country is under the grips of right wing media, the most successful, long-lasting disinformation campaign in modern history. Only possible when you reach a critical mass of rubes, which we unfortunately did. Edited April 4, 2020 by No Excuses

China
Sweden's liberal pandemic strategy questioned as Stockholm death toll mounts STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A spike in novel coronavirus infections and deaths in Stockholm has raised questions about Sweden’s decision to fight the outbreak without resorting to the lockdowns that have left much of Europe at a standstill. Governments across Europe have closed schools and taken draconian measures to limit exposure to possible carriers with Germany for example enforcing bans on more than two people meeting in public. Among Sweden’s Nordic neighbours, Denmark has closed its borders and shut its schools, as has Norway, while Finland has isolated its main urban region. Yet Swedes are able to go to restaurants, get a haircut and send their children to school even as the number of confirmed cases and deaths have mounted, above all in Stockholm which accounts for more than half the fatalities. An analysis of smartphone location data showed that while visits to public places has fallen steeply in most European countries, Sweden is bucking the trend. But Sweden’s liberal approach, which aims to minimise disruption to social and economic life, is coming under fire as the epidemic spreads in the capital. Sweden reported 612 new cases on Friday, bringing the total to around 6,000. The death toll has reached 333, with fatalities now running at about 25-30 a day, according to the Swedish Health Agency. China
FRANCE CONVERTS WORLD'S LARGEST WHOLESALE FOOD MARKET INTO MORGUE AS DEATH TOLL SURPASSES 5,300 As the coronavirus death toll in France continues to grow, the country's police on Tuesday said the government will be converting part of the world's largest wholesale food market into a temporary morgue. The cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in France surged to 5,387 today after the European country started adding nursing home fatalities to its official data. Jerome Saloman, head of France's public health authority, said the number of hospital deaths caused by COVID-19 increased by 12 percent from one day earlier when the total was at 4,503. Paris, France's most populous city, is one of the areas that have been hit hardest by the pandemic. Police are converting the hall at Rungis Market, situated outside of Paris, into a makeshift morgue to store the bodies of the coronavirus fatalities in the region as funeral homes are already overwhelmed. China
Fox News Moguls Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch Stockpile Attorneys Against Coronavirus Lawsuits Amid the mushrooming coronavirus crisis, Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch are girding for a pandemic of public-interest lawsuits over misinformation and conspiracy theories dispensed by certain Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network personalities such as Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Trish Regan. According to a top Murdoch executive, the father-and-son media moguls are ready to go to war with potential plaintiffs such as the Washington League for Increased Transparency and Ethics—aka WASHLITE—an activist non-profit that filed suit on Thursday against Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, and other defendants. The 10-page complaint, first reported by The Times of San Diego and filed in the superior court of Washington state’s King County, seeks a judgment that the Murdoch-controlled outlets violated the state’s consumer protection laws by “falsely and deceptively disseminating ‘News’ via cable news contracts that the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19 was a ‘Hoax,’ and that the virus was otherwise not a danger to public health and safety.” Click on the link for the full article 2

visionary
Quote At least 155 crew members aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive for coronavirus, days after the Navy aircraft carrier’s captain was relieved of his post for criticizing Pentagon leadership for not acting quickly and aggressively enough to contain the outbreak. The Navy confirmed the positive cases to The Washington Post Saturday and said 44 percent of the roughly 4,800-person crew have been tested; 1,548 have been moved to shore. The Navy confirmed on March 24 that sailors aboard the ship were infected and said those who tested positive would be placed in quarantine. Capt. Brett Crozier urged higher-ups to remove nearly the entire crew of the Roosevelt for quarantine in Guam and disinfect the ship. He sent a letter to senior officials on March 30 warning that if they did not take what he concluded were extraordinary but necessary measures, “we are failing to properly take care of our most trusted asset — our Sailors.” Edited April 4, 2020 by visionary
