You are about a decade (and change) late. From what I remember,  the Tailgate was decidedly more conservative back then.

Then... Stuff happened.

1)  Coming soon - The Strategic National Stockpile isn't for (blue) states, but it is for the RNC.

2)  And what do they want PPE for?  Any person wearing a mask there will likely get assaulted.

Pure fantasy.

Biden Campaign Is Secretly Building a Republican Group

>>>

Appearing in an Instagram live chat with soccer star Megan Rapinoe on April 30, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden made a spontaneous, vague statement about how he’s been “speaking to a lot of Republicans,” including “former colleagues, who are calling and saying Joe, if you win, we’re gonna help.”

Then he showed his hand: “Matter of fact, there’s some major Republicans who are already forming ‘Republicans for Biden,’” the former vice president said. “Major officeholders.”....<<<

:rofl89::rofl89::rofl89:

Other than never Trumpers; no current Republican will be jumping ship to Joe.  All current Republicans will sink or swim with Trump.  Instead of courting GOPers; maybe Joe needs to spend more time to Democrats.  He needs to get the Dem turnout up in the key states or else he isn't winning jack.

Why not if these Republicans are calling him. The actual voting booth is private or vote by mail. Secret ballot and all.

The point is he can get both and is probably one of the few candidates that could. He won’t get all of them but if somebody like Kasich endorses Biden that will go a long way for that side. Bernie’s endorsement did a lot for the left as well except the hardcores but they were always going to be entrenched in their guy/side

Well, I was more or less thinking of drowning accidents, but yeah, sharks too. (I'm such a water baby, I don't even think about them...when we lived on Tybee Island, I would go swimming at midnight).

Hindsight and whatnot...won't do it again.

Driving on the highway is probably just as dangerous.

Add: ehh, maybe not, but not a ton of shark deaths on the east coast.

In his WaPo Op-Ed today, Biden isn't trying to appeal to getable Republicans or far-left progressives.  He's appealing to people that want competent leadership during a crisis (while noting that the Trump circus is both incompetent and doesn't really care about regular people).

The truth is that everyone wants America to reopen as soon as possible — claiming otherwise is completely absurd. Governors from both parties are doing their best to make that happen, but their efforts have been slowed and hampered because they haven’t gotten the tools, resources and guidance they need from the federal government to reopen safely and sustainably. That responsibility falls on Trump’s shoulders — but he isn’t up to the task.

It’s been more than two months since Trump claimed that “anybody that wants a test can get a test.” It was a baldfaced lie when he said it, and it still isn’t remotely true. If we’re going to have thriving workplaces, restaurants, stores and parks, we need widespread testing. Trump can’t seem to provide it — to say nothing of worker safety protocols, consistent health guidelines or clear federal leadership to coordinate a responsible reopening.

In addition to forgetting the tests, he seems to have forgotten that ours is a demand-driven economy — you can shout from the rooftops that we’re open for business, but the economy will not get back to full strength if the number of new cases is still rising or plateauing and people don’t believe that it’s safe to return to normal activities. Without measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus, many Americans won’t want to shop in stores, eat in restaurants or travel; small-business owners know that a nervous public won’t provide enough customers to ensure they thrive.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) began “reopening” his state’s dine-in restaurants on April 27 — 12 days later, according to data from restaurant-booking service OpenTable, there were still 92 percent fewer diners than there were on the same day a year ago. States and cities that have attempted to reopen are discovering that the economy isn’t a light switch you can simply flip on — people need confidence to make it run, and that confidence must be earned by credible leadership and demonstrable safety.

Again, the solution isn’t a mystery. The Trump administration could focus on producing and distributing adequate testing and protocols that conform with the guidance of public health experts; doing so would speed up the reopening process considerably and make it a whole lot more effective. The administration is fully aware that this is the right path, too — after all, the president and his staff are now reportedly receiving daily tests. They knew exactly how to make the Oval Office safe and operational, and they put in the work to do it.

They just haven’t put in that same work for the rest of us.

If Trump and his team understand how critical testing is to their safety — and they seem to, given their own behavior — why are they insisting that it’s unnecessary for the American people?

There is so much to governance than just getting your favorite policy prescriptions filled out. Plus, this never happens to the extent people want anyways, because our government is structured in a way that prevents radical policy changes through legislation.

At this point, I am just looking to get sensible people back in charge of federal agencies who answer to a voting bloc that is informed and educated. Enough with the conspiracy peddling, bleach drinking ghouls.

Clearest sign that the GOP is worried about re-election:

It is once again time to get serious about deficits!

I really dont see any other solution than something that, quite frankly, this country doesn't have the guts to do.

These people aren't going to just go away, unfortunately
