There will still be an America, only peeve have about that ad.

We are a point we can justify electing a different president in way he's handling Covid-19 alone, this death of the republic talk doesn't help anyone's anxiety they already have.

Otherwise, that ad is harmless.  How can Trump with a straight face say he was treated worse then a man who was shot in the back of the head while still in office?  That's the ad, play it again with some mass graves.

Well, if Trump really wants to be like Abe; we can oblige. His extermination can be the biggest ever. Why they can be conspiracy theories that rivals JFK’s.  Come on Donald, make the ultimate sacrifice.

If course we know, if such an attempt happened; Trump would throw Pence in front of him.

this kind of thing is just a mild example of the tip of the coming iceberg re: gop campaign

A lawyer for CNN's parent company WarnerMedia has written a cease-and-desist letter to President Trump's re-election campaign over the misleading contents of a new campaign ad. WarnerMedia says the Trump ad is misusing CNN news coverage in a way that's "false, misleading and deceptive."

The Trump campaign had no immediate response to a request for comment from CNN Business.

The ad, titled "American Comeback," was introduced on Sunday night. The campaign says it is spending "mid-seven figures," at least several million dollars, to run the ad on cable and broadcast channels. The ad takes a segment from CNN's "The Situation Room" out of context.

Too many people in this country want an excuse to start killing folks they disagree with, killing Trump would be the green light that can't be put out. Not worth it, less then a year left.

Trump needs two electoral blocs to win. The pandemic is driving a wedge between them.

Quote

President Trump has a math problem.

Given his strategy to govern mostly for his base, Trump must walk an electoral tightrope to win in November. He cannot afford to lose voters motivated by economic issues. He also cannot afford to lose seniors, who supported him in 2016 by a nine-point margin over Hillary Clinton.

The coronavirus pandemic forces him to choose one. He can’t have both.

Unless science develops a miracle breakthrough, Trump must choose which to prioritize: saving lives or saving livelihoods. The sooner the economy reopens, the more people will die. Those deaths will not be randomly distributed: Older voters will be overrepresented among the casualties.

That fact is not lost on the United States’ older voters. By a 6-to-1 margin, Americans 65 and older say it is more important to address the spread of the coronavirus than to focus on the economy. That makes sense. A premature reopening could kill them. If Trump leans too much into an economic message that is inextricably tied to serious public health risks, he will fall off his narrow path to victory.

According to a Josh Kraushaar analysis of recent polling in the National Journal: “In mid-March, seniors were more supportive of Trump than any other age group (plus-19 net approval). Now, their net approval of the president has dropped 20 points and is lower than any age group outside of the youngest Americans.” If that collapse of support persists into November, Trump won’t just lose; he’ll lose in a landslide.

Conversely, leaning fully into extended lockdowns would cause him to fall off the other side. In 2016, despite his multiple bankruptcies and countless failed business ventures, voters saw him as a better choice for managing the economy than Clinton. His campaign planned to ask voters the perennial presidential election question: Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

Until recently, the answer for many — especially those invested in the stock market — was “yes.” Within the past six weeks, however, 30 million Americans have lost their jobs. Few have confidence that their pensions or other investments are safe. And the economic damage done by the lockdowns will hang like a millstone around Trump’s neck as he makes his precarious march toward reelection.

More at link.  It's helpful that Biden is very popular among older folks.

I would love for him to end now but I also have to balance that with wanting him to live until he sees he has lost everything.

Trump is spends his final days in a prison cell.  He has lost his freedom.  He has lost his money- though in reality, does he really have money?  Or is it just a house of cards financed by debt?  He has already lost his celebrity status.  He can no longer hang out with the real A lister stars.   Trump is lying in his prison bed and the end is near.  He is watchig Tv coverage as with his end near; the media looks back at his presidency.  Trump expects to be praised, as the greatest president ever.  As he tunes into CNN, MSNBC, etc.... he sees that he's regarded as the worst president ever.  He flips to Fox and even there, the acknowledge that Trump was among the worst.  That's the last thing he sees, then he dies.

Noone, other than his family; comes to his funeral. Only Fox broadcasts it.

Oh, one thing.  Win or lose; Trump isn't going away.  Trump will be dogging Biden, throughout his administration. I firmly believe he would be run and win the 2024 GOP nomination. If he wins, well we are ****ed.  Trump is going to be a big factor on the 2024 GOP nomination regardless.

If you are going into the election assuming Biden has won; you will be disappointed.  You have to go into, like your 10 points  downs; even if the polls say your 10 points up.

A little look at Trump's superstar athletic past:

https://slate.com/culture/2020/05/donald-trump-baseball-high-school-nyma.html

Trump could have gone pro, but was discouraged by a tryout he went to where he saw Willie McCovey. Which is understandable, since McCovey went pro when Trump was 8. A little unfair to have 3rd graders competing with 17 year olds. It's also a little odd that a someone from Alabama, who was signed after a tryout in Florida, would be at a tryout with someone attending high school in New York.

Obama should challenge him to a game.

I'm not sure one-on-one baseball is a thing.

yes it is. Grew up in the middle of nowhere and played it all the time with my two brothers. 2 v 1 or 1 on 1 when another didn’t want to play. Basically pitch to yourself, hit the ball and the other person has to chase it down (usually starting in the outfield) and throw it past home before the runner gets there.

it was fun for bored kids in the country with no friends or ability to go anywhere

And you picture the last two leaders of the free world doing this?

OK, so I assumed it was basketball.  (Just in case anybody was wondering in what way I screwed up.)

I thought that was maybe what you thought. But then again, there was always the possibility that you were also picturing two old men chasing baseballs 300 feet repeatedly for several hours.
