  1. Bears are going to be annoyingly good for the foreseeable future.
  2. Eh I would absolutely not say that. 2012 we had Trent Williams at LT, an aging but still productive Santana Moss plus a very good prime Pierre Garcon at WR. Run game had a 1600 rusher in Alfred Morris. Plus Kyle Shanahan >>> KK. Terry and Dotson are good but not great, RBs have more skill, Oline is definitely worse. I think the 2012 team was better. Idk what to expect with Daniels. I was so ****ing excited for Robert Griffin and remember there was so much said pre draft about his mature passing game. "Not just a runner." Gonna have to take a "believe it when I see it" approach. Honestly I might not fully buy in until he makes it through a full season or even two, bothj unscathed and productive.
  3. I flew American last week for the first time in a bit and noticed they now charge you to pick ANY seats. Used to be you could get to pick a seat toward the back included in your ticket cost. Now you have to pay them $10 per flight just to not end up in the ****ing middle seat. You can check in without picking a seat but they will auto assign you to wherever they want.
  4. Agreed. All the media reports are that league scouts and teams have a significant preference for Daniels. They view him as 1B to Caleb’s 1A (with a handful thinking Daniels is the 1A). If Washington doesn’t pick him, it’s one of two reasons: -either the narrative is dead wrong and just silly season BS or -something about Daniels spooked us (medicals, interview, etc) I think there’s too much out there from reliable reports to think the narrative is BS. So I fully expect the pick to be Daniels, but if it is not, it’s probably not based on that is on tape.
  5. Also, I'm starting to get really excited for the Nats. Pitching was still a huge potential gap for the rebuild but if guys like Irvin and Parker can both turn into decent rotation pieces, suddenly you've got a lot of wiggle room with Cavalli coming back (as well as the potential to add a FA top of the rotation arm when we are ready to really compete). I also suspect we will see Wood and Crews later this year. Winker will make a nice trade piece at the deadline and will clear the way for Wood. Crews might be a Sept call up and get some good playing time the last few weeks of the season. I think both will be opening day starters for us next year. It's happening!
  6. I’d like to get Ruiz more DH work when he gets back. I really like Riley Adams and I’m curious how much better Ruiz could be at the plate if he caught less.
  7. JJ is Drew Brees with wheels, Kirk Cousins with clutch, and he will lead us to many championships. There, you now are covered. Unless the Bears take Daniels and we're forced to settle for Caleb Williams.
  8. I’m to the point that I am 100% ok with any of our options. Even McCarthy, who I think has a decent chance at being the best QB from this draft. The main thing I’m interested in on Thursday is whether the Giants strike out in their attempt to draft a QB. I don’t want them to end up with any of these guys.
  9. I've said this before (ironically as a defense of Robles when he has had tough stretches), but we got a little spoiled with Bryce and Soto starting and doing well in their age 19 seasons. Not everyone develops at the same pace. Garcia turns 24 next month. He's definitely getting to the age now where you will know what you've got, but a lot of guys show well defined improvement as they get into their mid to late 20s and hit their athletic peak.
  10. He’s still young and needs regular playing time that he would not have gotten now that Senzel is back.
  11. Caps showing a lot of resilience and grit. Dominant game. Unfortunately Detroit scored two third period goals to force OT. That’s still going on… tbd if it will be one point for them or two. edit- Detroit won. They remain tied with the Caps. We will need two points tomorrow.
  12. I didn't read it like they'd take Maye/McCarthy over Daniels. I read it like this scenario assumes Daniels goes #2 and they have their pick between the other two.
  13. I've been on the Maye bandwagon for awhile but starting to come around to the idea of Daniels. I think a lot of the reason I've been scared of him, to the point I basically have written him off, is because both his body type, running style, and honestly his highlight tape too remind me so much of RG3. And I still have PTSD. I think it comes down to intangibles and coachability. RG3 did not do well here. How's Daniels? We don't and won't know. Hopefully the front office and coaches are all aligned if they take him. But I want to be a devils advocate about one knock I keep hearing about Daniels. "He's old,", been in college for 5 years, didn't have a true breakout season until yr 5. These are valid criticisms and you can make an argument that this means he's not as projectable (ie what will/could he be in 5 years). He's closer to a finished product. Because we've had such a trend of QBs coming out early in the past few decades, we don't really have a great sample size of 4+ year players who are taken in upper end of the 1st round. But we do know there is a trend that young QBs who sit have better outcomes. IMO there couple be two things to this. One being that they are not tossed into the fire WAY before their athletic peak (let's call it age 26) and, for some of these guys, with only a few years of QB experience post-high school. Maybe a QB's "development" can take place in college just as well as in the pros. Maybe the tremendous level of experience he has will help him with his transition to the NFL, rather than limit his upside. I honestly don't know the answer to these questions. But it will be REALLY interesting to see if Daniels is successful, whether that's here or elsewhere.
  14. that would suck for the team but then again nobody likes living in nova. At least at fedex they’d have the option of living out on the bay.
  15. I can't find any link between Adam Peters and the current UNC coaching staff. Last time a team Peters worked for drafted a UNC player was 2013 when he was a scout for Denver, and the coaching staff for UNC was completely different. I'm also not sure why he would have been in North Carolina spending significant time scouting a presumptive top 5 QB while employed by San Francisco, who did not need a QB and was not going to be in position to draft top 5. I'm skeptical.
  16. LOL it's different now. Honestly I was not even the least bit interested when they drafted Haskins. It was a Snyder pick with a Snyder team. It felt inevitable that he was going to fail. I've been freebasing pure unfiltered hope since the team was sold, and a #2 overall QB bust would be such a damn buzzkill.
  17. Generally commentary… I don’t know about you guys but I am absolutely petrified of taking the wrong guy at 2, and having the guy we passed on go on to be a pro bowler with New England. And either way. If Maye struggles and gets gun shy, and Daniels turns into the next Lamar. If Daniels has an RG3 career and Maye turns into the next Josh Allen. Or hell, if both of them turn out mediocre and McCarthy turns into a pro bowler for whoever trades to 4. We’ve been through so much collectively as a fan base and finally seem to have a glimmer of hope with new ownership and staff. If our QB busts and the ones we pass on are successful, I’ll be crushed.
  18. FedEx as a possible practice location would make a lot of sense. The team already owns land there (I believe) and it's a ton closer to RFK than Ashburn is. The training facility could be a component of whatever Maryland and PG do to redevelop the land there once the stadium is torn down. edit- LOL I missed the post at the top of this page that suggested exactly that. I'll amend my post to simple say "+1, great idea"
  19. Yeah might be 10lb of fat down, 5lb of muscle up. I mentioned these are really just guesses. I'm probably taking in a total of 1800-2300 calories per day, depending on size of dinner and quantity of cheats/snacks (I do need to button up my diet a bit more). But yeah, have been considering increasing the protein intake more and was just curious about the creatine part. The rest is really guesswork. Appreciate the input!
  20. I should have specified.. I'm not sure exactly what my goal weight is going to be but its likely in the 165lb range. Weight is fine. But I'm trying to gain ~10lb of muscle while dropping ~15lb of fat if that makes sense. I still had a bit of visceral fat left to lose when I dropped to 158.. that process would have had a much better outcome if I had been focused more on strength training and protein intake. I was working out daily and maintaining a calorie deficit, but ended up losing a lot of muscle in that process too. At the moment, in order to avoid that this time around I'm focusing on not having a big of a calorie deficit (ideally 200-300cal a day but that's just an estimate) while consuming a decent bit of protein. It fluctuates based on what I eat, but I'm guessing I'm between 100-120g per day (goal of 136g for 0.8g of protein per pound). As mentioned, this level of protein intake does seem to be helping, I'm really just curious about people's experience with creatine since I've read it's a great way to help during the kind of body recomp I'm aiming for.
