Trump is in so much personal debt and is such an undisciplined, unpatriotic moron it's all but certain he'll commit treason and espionage after he leaves office right?

I’ve seen National Treasure 2. I know there is a book of secrets among presidents. Trump is the first person that would actually reveal it after leaving office.

I want answers. Give me my aliens!

he would literally sell the nuke codes if such were possible

he will be peddling all kinds of info to vlad, chi, anyone else that qualifies

He's apparently starting a PAC. This isn't to actually support candidates in the future but to pay himself and his family big salaries. Grifters gonna grift.

He's going to juice these plump, juicy, MAGA loving rubes for a long as he, and his family can.

i'm just a guy who wants to be part of the solution , not the problem :D

and though not a 'believer', i do like the construct of "seeking our better angels"

Best part: “It is critical that candidates act responsibly by presenting and arguing legitimate claims before the courts, not unsubstantiated or harmful speculation in the public media. ...Baseless allegations of systematic deficiencies, notably by the incumbent president, including on election night, harm public trust in democratic institutions.”

Somehow, all of this episode is showing every democracy in the world that they aren't protected enough from anyone that is not ready to surrender the power to the next guy if the election results doesn't suits him.

I do know a few politicians in France that could act like Trump is doing right now. Most of them are coming from the extremes and would better have things getting nasty than just accept defeat.

Which is becoming a serious problem nowadays as democratic institutions are being attacked from both the outside, and the inside...

Perfect. It'll be easy to identify them all.

i agree that "defund the police" absolutely needs better messaging, but progressive views are way more popular than you think. FL, where Trump won by way more than expected, voted in $15 min wage and to allow felons to vote. Montana and South Dakota (both VERY conservative states) just legalized marijuana. Every single candidate that ran and endorsed medicare for all won their races.. almost every single candidate that endorsed the green new deal also won...

for sure, progressives need better messaging, but the policies themselves aren't the issue. its how they present them

I think some progressive views are popular. $15 minimum wage, restoring voting rights, and drug legalization are also popular with moderates. I am all for pushing those issues at a national level and think they are winning issues.

Progressives are good at messaging to other progressives. You have probably seen the chart floating around twitter about Dems who ran on M4A and the GND. They are almost exclusively in extremely blue areas, and ultimately the downballot did worse than Biden who represents the centrist wing. I have no problem with progressives running on what they believe in for very safe seats, but I think it has a cost on a national level.

I don't think the evidence actually supports the idea that Biden and Dems overall should have run on AOC's platform. Opinion is trending toward progressive views but I think it's important to view this stuff as clear eyed as possible. It should scare everyone that Donald Trump is getting 72 million votes and we need to understand why.

That's quite interesting that Biden have so much confidence in the process, because I wouldn't trust Trump in any way here.

Do he have any kind of insurance on this?

you're not going to like this either, but if you ever really come to understand  the nature/origin and forming of their 'whys', your not going to feel better or will have solved anything

so even if you had it, the knowledge would only be useful to you to manipulate in any number of commercial manners for potential profit or for power or 'fun' etc.

now if you're the kind of person who would sink so low as to do those sorts of things with such knowledge, and have a working visa card, pm me for more info

Just watched Joe's presser, he was careful not to fan the flames, several times he paused to make sure he didn't say anything too divisive.

I don't know how worried he is about the transition but it was obvious to me he's holding back his true feelings to take the higher ground, at least for now.

Or defected to Russia.

I think the only thing that could keep the Trumps from selling state secrets and fleeing is the hope they'll still be players in GoP presidential politics from here on out.

I thought of that possibility and it blew my mind how not out of the realm of possibility it was that he'd run for the hills and hide out in Russia to avoid prosecution.  Basically what Michael Jackson did once upon a time.

You think the NSA and the CIA are monitoring Donald Trump closely as an ennemy of the nation?

With respect to Cal Cunningham, I only followed the NC race in passing.  Question for those more knowledgeable about NC politics, was it only that close to begin with thanks to Cunningham or could it have been a Dem pick up if the candidate was someone who could keep it in their pants?

I'm not going to quote all of @Momma There Goes That Man tweets, but The DNC and DCCC and the DNCC needs to get younger and I would recommend a person running the DNC from GA or SC(looking at Stacey Abrams or Jamie Harrison). These are the folks who know how to get the right message across. Perez to me failed to do that this cycle. He knew that the message from the GOP would be about they are socialist and they want to do away with the police. They should have listened to both the Progressive Wing and Moderate Wing to combat it, and maybe they wouldn't have lost so many House seats. Yes the message was clear from what the Republicans ran with this cycle, but the Democratic Leadership failed this one as well. While AOC is right on what she is saying, I think by her putting it out in the media what happened, this will spark the GOP for the special election and rally their base. Dems lost the NC senate, now it's a must win in Georgia for both seats. Run with what is popular with the actual electorate in those states. That should be the part of the strategy.

The later. That seat is there with a good candidate. That idiot Cal had the seat won. Had to do something stupid. Tillis is not very well liked even among conservatives. He is pretty useless all the way around. I lived there for 10 yrs until moving to GA 3 yrs ago.

Although he just took office in 2015 I wrote his office several times and you should see some of the trash i got back - if i got anything. I offered to meet him in his office in DC anytime to discuss issues. I had very specific plans around the election process and gerrymandering that I wanted to share. I didn't expect him to agree but I kept on him anyway. I offered Burr the same thing and he also was a coward.

Of course I am probably now on some kind of watch list - lol   They are certain all us liberal/progressive - well anything but them are totally crazy. So there's that.

Overall NC is poised to go blue with the right candidates. The increase in educated people throughout the state helps. But they need good candidates. Roy Cooper needs some help. The outgoing congress before he took office did all they could to try and neuter him. And if I remember right republicans have a supermajority in the house and senate. It's due to gerrymandering. One of the worst states for it.

I actually take pleasure knowing that the only money they’ll receive is from idiots

every dollar they receive will be a dollar taken away from actual GOP campaigns.
