  1. I have no idea what he is like in the building. I'm sure he works a lot harder than whatever Lombardi is saying, or at least I hope he is. However, the rest of what he says about acting like the job should be is pretty much lines up with how he has acted publicly and on social media, so that would not surprise me.

Redskins.com: Redskins Name Bill Callahan Head Coach

Bruce pulled out a copy of Jay's contract and reminded him what would happen to the rest of his guaranteed salary if he walked.

    Gruden fired per John Keim

I guess that implies that you think we've truly been "in contention" at any point in the last 20 years? I think we'll find out pretty soon that the combination of dysfunction from the top down and a serious lack of talent/depth on the roster are the biggest reasons why you've felt that way. Unlike Zorn, who happened to be the guy that would accept the job, Jay was actually a well respected play caller before he came here. I'd love for you to be right, but the problems run deep and I'm not sure why anyone would be more likely to watch this week than last unless Haskins ends up playing.
  5. Jay was trying to save his job and had no time to wait for a QB to develop to do so. I'm far from the first person to say this but that is why they should have either cleaned house and hired a new coach or waited to draft a QB. Drafting a project like Haskins with a lame duck coach was ridiculously stupid.

    Gruden fired per John Keim

I have no issue with Gruden being fired and I was fine with them moving on after last season. However, you are acting like we're talking about Zorn or someone here. Until this season, the skins were usually competitive and in playoff contention until late into the season. Considering the obstacles anyone that coaches here faces, I'd say that it can (and probably will) be a lot worse until the owner changes his ways.

Contract year so hopefully he plays like it all season.
  9. Similar to my thoughts and I'll add that I pretty much hate his body language and am fairly confident that either he or someone in his camp are leaking some of these stories to the media (being set up to fail, Jay not preparing him properly, etc.)

    Next Coach?

That makes too much sense for this joke organization and this owner. Lol give Jay a little bit of credit and don't lump him in with Zorn. Not only was Zorn a complete embarrassment, he was never even coordinator before getting the head coaching job. Although, now that I think about it, might be hard to even get a mediocre QB coach to take this job now.
  11. Lol this may well be true, but the excuse making for the guy by some is entertaining. Pretty sure 6th rounder Gardner Minshew wasn't practicing with the first team and he came in and performed well as a.backup forced into the game unexpectedly.
  12. Succession on HBO is quickly climbing the ladder of my favorite TV shows of all-time. A huge surprise.
  13. I have no doubt the kid is talented and will improve as time goes on. With that said, I have hated his attitude/body language since draft night and he hasn't done much to make me feel better about it during the past week.

I thought Paulsen was a good to very good beat reporter. I have no idea why someone thought that meant he deserved his own show.

    Podcast Recommendations

After realizing I was starting to have major fatigue from DC-area sports talk radio I've recently started listening to podcasts to occupy my time during my daily commute home, etc. My current favorite is Pardon My Take which is a very nice change up from typical sports talk. Does anyone have recommendations for other good podcasts to check out?

Lol what actually happened during that segment? I saw the tattoo posted on social media, and it was definitely an awful tattoo. However, it seems like BDK deleted it from his pages and it gave me the impression they might have actually upset him with their comments. They usually make fun of him for a million different things but he usually seems to be cool with it.

This drives me nuts. I'm 99% sure "Chad Dukes" is a stage name, but I guess that wasn't enough for the guy. He had to go give himself another nickname to make himself feel good or something. I guarantee nobody has ever called him "Big Shooter" except maybe to mock him. It is truly mind boggling that Chad Dukes of all people has managed to have a 12+ year run with an afternoon show in one of the biggest markets in country. This is the guy that tweets about Monday Night Raw while the skins are playing on MNF. I just don't understand his appeal other than his producers have managed to get him some pretty good recurring guests over the years.
  18. I haven't seen this yet but was sad to learn the box office was so poor. From everything I've read it doesn't sound like the movies will make enough money to justify them renewing the license after the next one. I always loved the Kong/Godzilla movies as a kid so was happy they had brought them back for American audiences, but it seems like too many people were pissed about the 2014 movie and the box office was hurt from it.

    Game of Thrones Season 8

Posts like this make me wish I was a lot more intelligent haha. I love the show - will probably rewatch again soon - but I definitely haven't picked up on half of the stuff you mention just in this one scene.

    Game of Thrones Season 8

Yes and no, there are definitely a lot of very interesting story arcs and the series gets better as it goes. with that said, the characters and their development throughout the series (along with it being a very interesting time in history IMO) are why I loved that show so much. I was into it from the first episode so it's possible you might just not enjoy that kind of series. I will say the show is absolutely hilarious at times and this was more apparent than it was during the original run when I rewatched it earlier this year. EDIT: I was hooked from the beginning all the way through the end but @Bacon probably summed it up better than I did.

    Game of Thrones Season 8

I really don't think the majority of people have an issue with the actual plot points and/or whatever the end game is going to be. The problem is it really seems they became bored with the project the past few seasons and, if that was the case, should have handed over the show to someone else to properly finish over another full season or two. Going from the first 4-5 seasons to the last few is extremely jarring - almost like reading full novels for 75% of the series and then inexplicably switching to cliff notes to finish.
  23. Yeah, I kind of let him off the hook since he saved their asses a ton in OT but he definitely let in a few he probably shouldn't have last night. Also, that was the other thing I meant to include - the power play unit being a -1 last night was just ridiculous and probably the biggest single reason for the loss.
  24. Hard to say it was old legs when several of the older guys were the biggest contributors in the series. It's ridiculously hard to go back to back so all I can do now is hope they get some extra rest with the longer summer and GMBM can figure out a way to tweak the roster a bit in a way that can help them contend again next Spring. The biggest thing that killed them in the series was the secondary scoring from last year completely dried up. It's kind of ridiculous to get that production from Ovechkin and Backstrom and not be able to escape the first round.
  25. Didn't they let up 4 on that PP?
