Was incredible. There was a rippling effect right before the totality. The ground looked like moving water.
pjfootballer
Some co-workers had glasses. Pretty cool to look at. We didn't get in total darkness (Charlotte), but it got darker and the parking lot lights came on. Like everyone said, kind of a hazy look to the outside. Mr. Sinister
I'm in Damascus. Saw the eclipse (to a crescent) through various means. Didn't get all that dark, honestly... Right on the threshold of "Hey, it's kinda weird outside." darkness. Im just gonna have to find a place in the future so I can witness the "Jimmy, grab the Bible!" darkness

DogofWar1
It was cloudy with a 100% chance of rain here in my neck of Fairfax. Laaaaaaaame.
FanboyOf91
Orlando, we got 85% totality. Got to see it directly through some clouds that showed up at the exact minute. The reduced lighting is something you can only understand in person.

Dan T.
Felt the temperature drop in DC. It didn't get dark, but there was a weird softening of the light as the temperature dropped noticeably.

Felt like it was maybe 3 hours past the actual time. Nothing more.

Elessar78
2024 passes within 90 minutes of me. Would like to be a boat on Lake Erie for that one. It got gray here during peak. Pretty cook
JCB
Pretty modest here in Durham, NC. But my wife and I hung out with the dogs outside. Cooling, dimming, a weird smoke/haze effect to the light, and lots of trippy scaffolding effects on the ground.

They gave out glasses and everything. Around 1, the clouds rolled in. It's been overcast the entire time, so we see nothing. At least we got a free baseball game and a few hours outside of work. I'll have to catch the pictures on the internet. The clouds went away and we were able to view as it was going away. Pretty cool. I wish I could have seen it more at its peak. Just a weird kind of graying of the light. Definite temp drop. The sun didn't feel hot on bare skin.

Going Commando
I was just on the margin of totality in Pawley's Island SC. Looked like a couple thousand people on the beach around me. I was drinking aged rum and staring at the sun. It was fun.
daveakl
Swimming in the ocean at emerald isle at the peak. Got chilly outside and a strange light effect. Pretty cool.
Kosher Ham
Yep, as others stated, odd hazy look, temp drop, and yeah the moon blocked the sun for all of 60 seconds. So glad that I didn't travel to see something like this. Maybe if I had kids it would have been a really cool thing. However, I don't even think most kids were that impressed. 88Comrade2000
I was hoping that it would've gotten really darker. It got dark a little but that much. Used the selfie mode on my cell phone, didn't really see much.
