The owner of a Central Florida gun shop that recently declared itself a “Muslim-free zone” announced that he is teaming up with another Floridian, George Zimmerman, to raise funds for both of their legal bills by selling prints of Zimmerman’s painting of a Confederate flag.

 

In a newly posted 10-minute “mini-documentary” about the burgeoning friendship between Zimmerman and Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hallinan, the pair discussed how they believe “the media twists the truth” about them and argued that the Confederate flag must be defended by Americans against a “cultural cleansing” campaign waged by the media and the political elite.

 

Then, the pair announced that they are selling a series of prints of Zimmerman’s Confederate flag painting, which includes the inscription, “The 2nd protects our 1st.” Zimmerman described the inscription as a “double entendre.”

 

“I was painting the American flag when I heard of you getting sued by CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations), and I decided that I would do for you what the American people did for me,” Zimmerman told Hallinan, in reference to his own fundraising campaign for a legal defense fund. In 2013, Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder charges for the shooting death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

 

The prints are going for about $50 each, and Zimmerman and Hallinan have promised to give the original painting away to one of the people who purchase a print. Most of the proceeds will be split between Zimmerman and Hallinan to use for legal bills and living expenses; an unspecified portion will go to the Boys and Girls Club.

 

“We’ll see what the media does with this one,” Hallinan said at the end of the video.

How is that video 10 minutes long? I got through 3. First Stalin/Hitler reference was all I could take.

 

It's so worth it.  In a 3 minute span, he refers to himself as a patriot, but then calls the duly-elected President of the United States a racist (among other things), and then says that HE is not a racist, and then offers to sell you a confederate flag drawing by a guy that shot a black kid for being black.  Its like watch the living embodiments of Nonsense and Stupidity play ping pong.

I wonder how well Zimmerman can defend himself without a gun in his hand. I'd pay good money to be given the opportunity to whoop his ass.

During his trial, his MMA gym coach said he was one of the worst fighters he'd ever seen. Probably why he packs a gun.

Keping gun stores Muslim-free is apparently dangerous work, especially for gunslingers who are tasked with keeping Muslims at bay.

 

A member of a self-described “patriot” group accidentally shot himself outside the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store in Oktaha, Oklahoma. Store owner Chad Neal said he received death threats after recently posting a sign on a window at his establishment declaring Muslim customers unwelcome. Hence the extra security. According to the Tulsa World, Neal has called Islam a “cult” and said he would not allow “jihadis” to purchase weapons or work on their marksmanship at his shop.

 

On Tuesday, one of the men protecting the store dropped his Colt .45 revolver, which discharged and shot him in the wrist. Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson, who visited the store Monday and Tuesday, said the unidentified man’s injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening. He was less than complimentary on how the patriot group handled their weapons.

 

“I saw several of those gentlemen out there yesterday,” Pearson told Muskogeenow.com. “The way they were holding their weapons, with the fingers on the triggers, you can tell a couple of these gentlemen have no idea about weapons safety. It’s like the Clampetts have come to town.”

Yeah I'm having a hard time with this. How is this real life? There's so much stupidity, insanity, and cognitive dissonance here that I'm starting to believe we've quite recently been shunted into a parallel universe.

 

I don't even know where to begin with this so I'll just leave this here, as it makes more sense to me.

Addendum: that video is absolutely awful from a technical standpoint (not even going to get into the "content" because...holy crap). Terrible camera work and focus (seriously, you can't afford a freakin' tripod?) and some of the worst editing by anyone over the age of 10.  Fail
