Fan since a Fetus
I just don’t see how you get the Jackson evaluation wrong. He had a ton of film on him prior to coming here. Well, we thought Nick Chubb would be a good QB, but I guess our evaluation was wrong. We thought we saw him throw it one time. We were wrong, it was a lateral.

CommanderCarson
At least they identified the mis alignment, admitted they were wrong, and saved some money while getting a higher pick in a few years (minimal I know). The bigger problem would have been hanging onto him too long out of a desire to prove the decision right in the first place. We’ve certainly done that before.

dswerdlw
So, do we add another CB to the active roster to accompany Fuller, St. Juste, Wildgoose, Johnson, and Holmes? Perhaps we wait for Castro-Fields to come off IR. Elevate Elder or, dare I say it, Apke? My guess is we sit tight for now.

"our bad" The question that wasn't asked is "Coach, why do you think you'll get it right next time? What specifically will be done differently via scouting and your front office that got it wrong with Jackson?"
ExoDus84
It's official. The bad man is gone. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34926422/sources-steelers-acquire-william-jackson-iii-commanders Quote PITTSBURGH -- After dealing wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Chicago Bears for a second-round pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers completed a trade with the Washington Commanders for cornerback William Jackson III before Tuesday's deadline. The Commanders received a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2024 for Jackson and a conditional seventh-rounder in 2025. And that’s one thing I’ve learned during Ron’s tenure, he will not bend one bit on his defensive principles/how it should be done. If you don’t do it right, you will receive the blame and eventually be out. It’s a total, do what we say or get out.

That's going to be a solid need going into FA next year and they'll probably have to draft a CB as well i thought shawn springs was solid for us and carlos was solid, he just couldn't get interceptions with his blindness.
JSSkinz
How much of his contract are they absorbing, lowering that $9MM in dead cap would be my priority knowing he stinks and wont bring much in the way of draft picks.
glongest
Anyway you crack it, this was a total disaster and this coaching group has to own it. It is really shocking they got it so wrong. Well maybe not all things considered.
Forehead
I'm not even that worried about what pick we got. Freeing up any cap space there was a win as far as I'm concerned.
