  1. You’re in your own head, no one has suggested anything close to “white washing” snyders tenure. I get that he personally damaged your life but let’s be real here.
  2. Check back in and still dumb ass smack against a guy who was a good backup and stepped in and helped won some games for a team that has not won a whole lot of games over the years. Yes I’m aware of what side of the fence I lie on and I ❤️ Taylor Heineke. Got it tattooed on my ass too. On a more important note, I have to say I continue to be impressed by this teams football operations. General Operations is a whole different story, but on the football side this team has finally started building the right way. 2017 was the start and Jon Allen kicked it off. Ever since then we’ve generally drafted well, developed well, retained our own, even gotten some comp picks over the years (not referring to Kirk which we could have traded for so much more). There are plenty of glitches by football Ops since then and they are far from perfect, but they’ve made large strides over the last several years that will eventually translate to a winning product on the field. This off-season has done nothing to disuade me from that opinion. But then I remember we’re Washington and we suck and will never start a season better than 1-5. Jacoby Brissett is a money signing, he’s definitely an upgrade over heineke and represents a true competition for Howell. Either guy that wins should be better than what we’ve fielded last several years. Please let it be enough to have a great year for the first time in a long time. I mean start to finish.
  3. Just curious, what’s your view of the roster? Im guessing they have to be one of the best in the league? (I agree with this by the way but curious your thoughts).
  4. Backup QB is one of the most important positions in the game. And you don’t realize till you don’t have one. Hope we land a Dalton or Bridgewater.
  5. The entire last 5 pages is littered with hallelujahs hahaha how can you type that out with a straight face? No one on here at least thought he walked on water, he was good enough to win games with, which should not be taken for granted in the NFL where there are backups out there that will absolutely lose you games. Best of luck to the guy, I loved him as a backup and sincerely hope we find someone that can keep the ship afloat should Howell go down. And 10 a year from a different franchise should basically end any and all discussion that heineke is the worst QB to walk the earth like is ascertained and believed widely here. For that i am grateful. A lot of people saying he wouldn’t get a single dime from any other team and we were probably negotiating against thin air. Lol.
  6. A guy that can win games as a backup is a guy that has value, shame some people don’t get that.
  7. 20 years from now once everyone zooms out from the current state of affairs, Dan Snyder will go down not only as one of the worst owners in sports, but also one that didn’t have any true pattern with regards to how the team was constructed on the football side of the house. There is stark contrast between two different Snyder eras in my mind. We have half a sample size if not more of Dan Snyder’s tenure spending money on whoever the hell we wanted whenever the hell we wanted. Draft picks flying off the shelves galore. We were quite frankly reckless, as everyone here knows. Then we went pretty much MIA from free agency over the past 10 years outside of the big contract here or there and have built our team almost exclusively through the draft, with the past 5-6 forming the core of the current team. The most talented young team since Snyder inherited the team I may add. Which lends credence to the fact that drafting and developing is important, and I think is the single most important quality Ron has brought to the table. FO and coaching staff are on same page and Ron serves as an excellent liaison between the two (wild to think that there’s actually some benefit to a coaching centric model). What gives? What changed? I’m genuinely curious to know what caused such a drastic shift in philosophy with several coaches spanning over those two time periods (for example we were aggressive with both Gibbs and Zorn as coaches and we’ve been conservative with Jay and now Ron). It’s something I began thinking of with regards to Lamar and remembering how we used to just chuck the most money at someone and they would come play here which feels like a lifetime ago. And yes I know we aren’t going after Lamar and all about our current financial and ownership situation. It’s just what brought the question to mind and curious what y’all think.
  8. This reminds me of some of the heineke discussion. No one, even @wit33 is suggesting we are the most attractive place for FAs. He’s not. Read what is actually being said. Money is and always will be a huge driver. So is the coach in place and the team of people on board to recruit said player. So is the vision for that player and what the surrounding pieces on the roster already will enable them to do. Same with scheme. There are a ton of variables at play, but money will always be a huge driver and it’s why when we want someone (Norman, DJAX, Pierre, Terry, J Allen, etc) will sign here. It’s kind of silly cause you’re missing the point and then throwing shade at that person. Can’t stand it.
  9. Bienemy ain’t taking this job if he didn’t truly believe in Howell the prospect and/or believe in the young talent already on the team. I don’t think people truly appreciate how much talent we’ve assembled on offense. Dotson Terry and Samuel is an OC’s dream. Robinson is going to be a bonafide stud idc what his stats say about last year, he passes the eye test. And Gibson is an awesome chess piece. And then you’re backed by a defense that makes it hard to score 20 on a good day. Anyone that thinks this is a “trash” franchise that is some dumpster fire is just regurgitating a bunch of BS cause Snyder and the team have always been and will be an easy target until he sells and the team actually wins more than 8-9 games at their peak. I can confidently say this is the most talented young roster we’ve had in town in 20 plus years and that’s a big reason bienemy took the job.
  10. Bruce had a ton of faults, but he did clean up the bad contracts and for the first time the team started to build through the draft. He oversaw a personnel department that brought us Terry, Jon Allen, Payne, and Sweat. There’s no denying those are some of the best homegrown players we’ve drafted/developed in Snyders tenure. Vinny and Bruce were both bad at the end of the day, but to label Bruce boring as the reason why we sucked is just a weird take imo. For years fans wanted to do what Bruce finally instilled and was a major criticsm against Snyder. Boring is what some of the best franchises around the league are. Ravens, Steelers, Patriots, Packers, etc are all examples of teams that are relatively boring when it comes to team building. Some teams like the Eagles and Rams a couple years back were far more aggressive and it worked out. But that’s not the only way or path to a Super Bowl. The 4 players I mentioned above are the core of a team that I finally believe is talented enough to compete and become a contender. I’m glad Bruce is gone and he screwed a few situations up royally, but if you can’t appreciate what he left behind so to speak then agree to disagree. We have a ton of financial flexibility and a homegrown roster, and he kicked that process off for us or at least oversaw the coaches and FO that did. No more trading a 2nd for Jason Taylor or a 3rd for TJ Duckett.
  11. You speculating that its impossible is equally as crazy to be honest. We get it Snyder sucks, most people wouldn’t be worse. But to take it the bank as fact that he couldn’t be impulsive or overall bad at owning a sports team is laughable to me. Look around the league, plenty of awfulness out there. And being rich, efficient, and cut throat doesn’t guarantee wins or success in the national football league. It’s an emotional tale based on the hope no one could do worse. But in turn you’re turning a blind eye to the possibility of what else could happen. This is coming from someone who loves the possibility of Bezos owning the team.
  12. My biggest fear. However the hell we finally got here under Snyder I’ll never know, but we finally have a homegrown roster with talent at most positions and even a young promising QB prospect to boot. I’m praying new ownership recognizes that the team on the football side is finally being built the right way, and to not go scorched earth and just shake it up to shake it up. I agree with this, but you need to have the right core and foundation to do this imo. I think we are one year and a decent year from Howell away to be able to go all in and have people WANT to play here for once.
  13. That Howell touchdown run is so friggin awesome. As pissed as I was to piss the postseason away, this is as excited as I’ve ever been going into the offseason. And seeing the roster as strong as it was all year, and then Howell the last game and it’s the little things that stuck out. No idea if it works (knowing us it won’t) but at least it’s fun to think about and better than having a bare cupboard completely.
