Rodgers definitely has a little bit of a prima donna in him. But then again, so does Brady. So did Manning. Part of what drives these guys to be so good is the belief in themselves that they are indeed that good. I think he'd fit in incredibly well in our locker room with our alpha male young talent, particularly on D.

No unvacced player should be a captain going into the season. They should lead by example and being unvacced is very clearly not in the best interest of the team. Even if you don't test positive you'll be sent to the covid list all the time due to contact tracing. 

This whole situation is a mess...

I do find it odd how many people complained Tebow was even in camp with someone. Can't recall so much handwringing over the 89th man of a potential 53 person squad. Hell, Washington just cut a tight end that hadn't played football since 2018. And in 2018 that same player was a WR, not a TE. And that player had one reception for 8 yards at a school no one here has likely ever heard of as it's in Division III. And I'm not even talking about Sammis Reyes. Teams sometimes bring in crazy longshots.

Unsure about Fuller; his dead cap # is 6 mil next year. And his struggles have only come this year. He was pretty decent last year so maybe they give him another chance.

If St Juste really proves himself, Fuller is gone. No one should be paying slot corners what he is earning

Sherff should not be here full stop, as soon as we offered him the best contract out there for a G and he turned it down, goodbye should have been Rivera's answer. Even if it meant we got only a 3rd round pick for him, now he will leave for nothing 🙄, and after the game Rivera praised Schweitzer by saying we never missed a beat without Sherff in the lineup. That 15m cap space could have been spent on 2 good LB'S instead.

Was anything mentioned on how Washington plans to go about about replacing the two players (Bostic, McTyer) who are out for the season?  

 

"Next man up" is the traditional answer, but Washington didn't have much depth at either position

 

Unless someone of starting caliber can be brought in quickly, it seems like Washington might have to start relying on the special-teamers to step up into starting roles for the defense.  😑

We wouldn't get a 3rd round pick for him because of the FA spending we did.  It would have offset.

Rivera on The Junkies this morning said they'd be looking at the LB situation.  They would bring him a list today and he said these days they really are only playing 2 LBr's anyway, they can use more Buffalo nickel, etc.  Not sure but he did mention they'd promote Jordan Kunaszyk.  The Junkies were pressing him on Mychal Kendricks but he wouldn't bite.

Well, Bostic was the worst player in the team and actively tanking the defense each week.  And McTyer is a JAG who was playing about 20% of snaps the first 3 weeks before St. Juste got concussed.  

 

I guess you could say its not all that concerning.

Yeah it seems like coverage is the bigger issue thus far than stopping the run.  Sadly, really no one has played hot in coverage consistently.  I know some say William Jackson has but IMO he's had 2 bad games, 2 good games, that's not that hot but agree he has the greatest potential among the CBs.  Fuller has struggled.  St. Juste has struggled.  The safeties have struggled in coverage.

 

What appeals to me about McKinney is that he's not just a good run stopper by reputation but also a really good pass rusher.  Our LBs aren't getting home on the blitz.
