Thats weird.  We had our civilians get shots right along with us.

Basically laid around all day yesterday and went to bed at like 9. Usually go to bed between 12-1 am. Woke up and still feel like I got hit by a truck. 
 

don’t feel sick. Just incredibly exhausted and sore over my whole body.

I’m getting mine end of April. By that time it will be 89 with a matching humidity. Being hot sweaty and sick sounds not delightful.

Guess I got lucky with Pfizer #2. My arm hurt like hell for less than 24 hours and that was it. Felt a lot like a Tdap shot.

Ok, got a nap in and went on a 3 mile walk and I feel pretty good.

 

So, the 2nd shot had much worse symptoms but pretty much the same 24 hour turnaround time.

So after getting the 2nd Pfizer shot on Tuesday I spent the day totally cool no issues.  Then, late that night my arm started hurting significantly and I had trouble closing my fist and had a really ****ty pain in the veins of my forearm. Went to bed and woke up to body aches and chills, the typical kind I had expected.  Took a shower and notice swelling in my armpit. Looks like it mega activated my lymph nodes which startled me, I hadn't heard of that.  Googled it and sure enough, 12-15% have this symptom. The swelling can last 7-10 days. Overall I now feel fine, the swelling is less but still around.  Not sweating it too much now and will be happy to get past this whole dang scenario. What a time to be alive, lol. smh. thankful.

I had a brief tinge of soreness in my arm after the second dose.

Two weeks since the second shot week ago last Friday.  I've sat down for a meal at a restaurant every single day, except today, since then.  Still masking and hand washing and being careful for others.  But it's wonderful.

Vaccine passports are latest flash point in COVID politics

 

Vaccine passports being developed to verify COVID-19 immunization status and allow inoculated people to more freely travel, shop and dine have become the latest flash point in America’s perpetual political wars, with Republicans portraying them as a heavy-handed intrusion into personal freedom and private health choices.

 

They currently exist in only one state — a limited government partnership in New York with a private company — but that hasn’t stopped GOP lawmakers in a handful of states from rushing out legislative proposals to ban their use.

 

The argument over whether passports are a sensible response to the pandemic or governmental overreach echoes the bitter disputes over the past year about masks, shutdown orders and even the vaccines themselves.

 

Vaccine passports are typically an app with a code that verifies whether someone has been vaccinated or recently tested negative for COVID-19. They are in use in Israel and under development in parts of Europe, seen as a way to safely help rebuild the pandemic- devastated travel industry.

 

They are intended to allow businesses to more safely open up as the vaccine drive gains momentum, and they mirror measures already in place for schools and overseas travel that require proof of immunization against various diseases.

 

But lawmakers around the country are already taking a stand against the idea. GOP senators in Pennsylvania are drawing up legislation that would prohibit vaccine passports, also known as health certificates or travel passes, from being used to bar people from routine activities.

 

“We have constitutional rights and health privacy laws for a reason,” said Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff, a Republican. “They should not cease to exist in a time of crisis. These passports may start with COVID-19, but where will they end?”

About 36 hours after Pfizer #2, I started to feel feverish and chilled. But it never got worse than that. By next day I felt normal.

In a weird way, I'm jealous. I worry that since I didn't have worse symptoms that my immune system isn't as ramped up to fight COVID as yours.

Funny you bring that up. My cousin has had health issues (unrelated to the virus) these last couple years and has been getting help from Cleveland Clinic. The virus had him super concerned. They told him that yes the lymph node reaction is an indicator of a more robust protection from the virus. Who the heck knows though, they are trying to figure this thing out on the fly. So, as long as I am “protected” and don’t grow a third arm I’m happy.

My fat banker buddy took the familia to Honduras to go diving and such.  All vaxxed up but wifey, who works in the medical field, tested positive when she went to go back to work.  Rest of the family is ok, and tested neg, but it goes to show.  Fourteen day quarantine for her.

 

She's prolly loving it upon further consideration because my buddy and the kids are in a hotel.

So your cousin did or did not have a strong reaction?

Did they wait the full time after the second dose? it's anywhere from 2 to 7 weeks to get the full immunity after the second dose, I think.

 

There's still a chance one gets it, after all it is "only" 95% effective—it's just great at keeping you out of the hospital if you do get it.
