The Mayo Clinic should have escorted Pence off the premises.  The ****er.

Or before going inside just hand him a surgical mask and say "Sir, to ensure the safety of everyone in the building, this is required to enter the premises".

"Completely ignore the well documented fact that I absolutely ****ed up almost every aspect of dealing with this pandemic that will probably tally 100,000+ American deaths by the time the election rolls around...I'm definitely the one you can trust to bring us back from it though!"

Stupidity got us into this mess.  Why can't it get us out?

I work at Mayo.  This is exactly what happens when anyone else shows up without a mask.

This fiasco is generating some discussion.

Am I right in thinking that, ultimately, the antibody test will be a better indicator of our national “health/status” than just endlessly testing everybody all the time?

Seriously, I’m asking...

This is like asking since the first project is too late to be submitted for a grade will we still pass the class if we do well on the next one?

Federal government is handling this as well as someone with no hands trying go jump rope.  Will the car drive without gas? What if we put gas in it?

I'm curious if they said that to him but he refused (why??). That would have been super awkward and weird. Do you deny entrance to the VP in that situation if you're in charge of the facility? Clearly someone made the decision to let him go in regardless.

I'm starting to wonder if Pence is nearly as dumb as Trump is, or if it's simply Trump rubbing off on him. We're talking about the same guy who did this:

Unless you planning on eating it raw. Cooked food has no virus. Heat kills.

I'd like to know if food is coming from a factory that the owners wanted to shut down because they knew they couldn't operate it safely, either for the consumer or the workers.

The antibody test is one aspect of determining the extent of virus spread, who has been exposed. Although it's been observed that persons who had it again tested positive. That's dangerous because if they are positive again they could infect others.

Democracy Now: Known U.S. Deaths Top 56,000 as New Study Shows True Number Likely Much Higher

Quote

A new study by a team at the Yale School of Public Health found there were over 15,000 excess deaths in the United States during the month of March and first days of April. The figure is nearly double what officials have been citing as the death toll from the pandemic during that period.

Yeah that one U of W study at one point said 67K by the end of May. We're gonna be close to that by the end of this month.

It may have been changed again...not sure if these projections are for the end of May or not:

"The University of Washington’s IHME model, which is used by the White House and other government agencies for guidance, is now projecting a higher US death toll from COVID-19.

Late Monday, the model increased its projected death toll to 74,073, up from nearly 67,000 a week ago, and 60,000 two weeks ago."

Not sure if anyone noticed this, but there is a 70,000+ range of uncertainty that they've included into their projections. There is more to an estimate that utilizes scientific modeling than one absolute figure.

The range they have is 56,000-130,000 dead by August.

Pretty sure that 56,000 projection is probably too low...

it’s like when Trump gazed at the sun during the eclipse. Even if you could for a flash, why do it? You like like a dumbass to everyone with a brain. So, congratulations?

they are all performing for an audience of one. 45 probably would have mocked him for being weak if he wore the mask. even in the face of a pandemic, subservience to the dumbest mother****er walking the earth is the priority

As I get older I find myself less & less bothered by stupid people. I used to feel sorry for them or try to offer help. Now? Even if it means sure death to somebody, I really dont care any more.

I won't encourage it, but please, if you feel the urge, drink it.

"It’s like a Venn diagram,” she said. “What they all have in common is the idea that the government is hiding something from you. These people not interested in what scientists, doctors or the mainstream media has to say.”

What I am thinking is why shut down the whole plant and not just quarantine it after it is discovered who it is. Shut down for a day or two. Sanitize and continue the work. My friend who got covid-19 at Amazon warehouse was quarantined and they santazied the whole place and the operation continued.

I was being facetious about eating raw meat though. I hope you got that. If you don't know if the meat came after or before the infection news then just make sure you handle and cook the meat properly and the cooking temp is 165+.

Iran: Over 700 dead after drinking alcohol to cure coronavirus

More than 700 people have died in Iran after ingesting toxic methanol, erroneously thinking it can cure the new coronavirus.

The national coroner's authority said that alcohol poisoning killed 728 Iranians between February 20 and April 7. Last year there were only 66 deaths from alcohol poisoning, according to the report.

We were talking about the Federal government ordering factories to operate when the owners felt the best policy was to close. I'd chose not to use that produce as I do not know what health and safety risks are involved for the workers, or for my family as consumers.
