Alex should have put more air under the ball to allow Vernon to run to it, but at the same time, the ball landed close enough to Davis where I assume he could have at least got his hands on it if he sold out for it. People gonna make that one play everything, but QBs overshoot an open target like that every game. For Smith, throwing so few of them, it just feels more memorable and much less forgivable.
