Literally the first time I heard of this Jo Jorgensen person was when I filled out the ballot.  But for the rest of American history, when somebody looks up the 2020 Presidential election, her name (and Kanye's for that matter) is gonna come up. I have to say, that'd be kinda cool.

The shock from the left that this is a close race just goes to show that they didnt learn from the loss in 2016. To me that loss was people being fed up and pissed off at the arrogance from the left, and this election is just showing that it hasnt changed. Will this being so close, whichever way it goes, get the left to finally realize that something needs to change if they want reach more people? I think so many people that would normally be in the middle are voting Trump because of that.

Trump is extremely divisive, but I dont think the left is that far behind just in a different way.

And you would be wrong again. This has NOTHING to do with the left at all. It’s about media manipulation ( FOX News) and power over weakness. That’s it. If you want to thoroughly stamp out corrupt power, you Must get your hands dirty and stop worrying about doing things the “right” way.

Agreed.  They didn't learn.

It's easy to call Trump voters idiots, hicks, rural rubes, low information voters, racists, because...well, they are.  :ols: But calling them those things isn't going to want them to see the left's point of view and come around to them.  The beatings will continue until the morale improves, as the old saying goes.  You bring up being fed up and being pissed off at the arrogance of the left, well, they still are and it's not a wonder as to why.

IMO, the politicians and elected officials can only do or say so much.  True change should start with us.  It's really easy to dismiss a family member or a friend as a Trump Humper and yell at them or ignore them altogether.  Some of them can't be reached, that's just the nature of things.  But I believe that some of them could come around on logic and facts if they're presented in an eye-to-eye type of way, not being yelled at, insulted or talked down to.  Won't happen overnight, won't happen next week, might take awhile.  Unfortunately we're a society of people that's grown accustomed to having everything happen immediately, the long game is a foreign concept.  People on the left shouldn't be surprised to go "Hey, check out these facts and how they affect you..." and then not have it take immediately.  It'll take persistence at an eye to eye level.

I agree, I think that's one of the biggest things. You are not going to get anyone on any issue to see another point of view if you are busying slamming their head against the wall telling them how horrible and awful they are. Kindness wins people eventually, of course not all, but its not as satisfying for people. We want to really let people know how stupid they are to think differently, have different beliefs, etc. Big reason I think that the polls tend to be off is people aren't going to say they were voting for Trump, because they didn't feel like getting called a racist, or an idiot, or any other name. And they are not going to be voting for a party that comes across that way.

With the electoral college this country is just ridiculously divided and has been every election since 2000. The only time it wasn’t was with Obama, a generational campaign. How many more of those are around? Dems need to take every edge they can and push for every change they can get in voting rights to actually give fair representation to all votes. If they do, we will have elections that better reflect the makeup of the people

I don't think its about satisfaction though, I think its more out of frustration. I live with a four year old, I love him to death, but he doesn't listen at all. I always talk to him calmly and understanding the fact that he's a four year old, but damn! It can be tough sometimes! I would never do it, but I totally understand why some people spank their kids. It isn't done out of hate, its done out of exhaustion and frustration. Spanking is the last option when all else fails. Trust me, there are plenty of Trumper's heads that I would love to smash into walls...but I don't. I'm a calm person, a calm, high person.

So what you're trying to say is Democrats should placate Republicans and Trump voters that have been brainwashed for the last 20+ years and like to demonize "the liberals" as un-American, socialists, communists, Marxists that want everything handed to them and have beliefs that racism doesn't exist and America is just all-around good, clean and wholesome?

Alright people, I wasn’t that drunk

When you were all cheery this morning all I could think of was that scene from a few good men when Tom cruise goes from drunk, angry and hopeless to all energetic and dunking his little basketball the next day.

Are they generally accepting the likelihood of Trump losing?

Not on Twitter. It’s 100% fraud. Dems rigged it in their favor in the middle of the night manufacturing votes while everyone was asleep

Michigan just got closer. I don't know how anyone can be relaxed with these margins. We hope we know what votes are out there but..

They have 31% left in Wayne county.  Currently 447k to 211k Biden. It's 67% now, it was 67% in 2016, indicating that remaining 31% is unlikely to be a pocket of Trump skewing votes
