Re: Bilal

Where's my "Wheel of curse of les boulez"?

Freak injury.  Off the court issues.  Something random that never happens to other teams (like he'll try to force a trade so he can play with Wemby).

Let me count the ways...

Give up on a future HoF basketball player due to freak/chronic injuries.

Put all your money in on re-signing his best friend. Double down when he doesn't want to be with your team. He's good but not great.

Trade away another Hall of Very Good player

Trade 2 players to team to that become solid starters for a future championship team.

Constantly draft the wrong players.  Or trade draft picks.

One of the biggest #1 draft pick busts ever... (but he actually is just a servicable/functional big...)

Make a steal of a signing but that player has his career cut short by injuries.

Actually get the #1 pick.  Actually hit on that player. Guess what.. injuries...

Can't really complain much recently about the curse other than unable to put together a winning team. Jordan Poole needs to stop thinking his place in the league is safe.

I don't believe there's a way to rename to bullets and folks not think shooting.

Bullet Trains won't work, even the old logo has it's hands up to not get shot.

...

And Poole is A knucklehead, doesn't mean the whole team.  This ain't like the Blatche days, we just aren't good.

Our players suck seriously, err, seriously suck...professional losers, very professional ...we're rebuilding damn good culture...

Pfff...defending this team is hard, still trying to go to the Bucks game.

I had forgotten Blatche existed until I just read his name @Renegade7. lol

Apologies for any painful flashbacks that may have caused : )

It's seared in my memory that game he threw a tantrum and just stopped playing middle of the damn game.  I thought he'd at least be benched, suspended, traded, fined, something to send a message that that was not okay.

He started the next game.

We are much better place culture-wise then that, Poole is on an island, and if he keeps it up he won't be here long with new folks running this show now.  That I truly believe or truly nothings changed.

Fellow fans: I'm announcing my earliest "bail on the Wizards" in my entire history of watching the franchise. No way on Earth will I spend my winter agonizing over this turd.

Free yourselves NOW!! They won't deserve a minute of viewership or a single game ticket. It feels SO good to let it go in mid-November, knowing I'll have a much better Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Spring.

I'm 57 years old. I've followed the team loyally since I was 6, so there's certainly no feelings of guilt over not being a "true fan" in 2023-2024. They're dog poop. No false hope from a short win streak, no accepting them as a "work in progress," even though I do understand that it's exactly what they are. You blow a 23 point lead and you lose me for the year. There will be PUH-LENTY more blown leads just like last night and it's simply too pathetic to witness.

See you in the Fall of '24!... maybe. (HUGE sigh of relief......)

Makes me kind of happy that Monumental owns the TV channel now. Zach and Ted have to deal with the horrible ratings themselves and don't even get a rights fee for this miserable product.

The network has basically become a propaganda station now. It always was, I guess, but now it's another level. Part of the fun when watching the horrible Wizards teams in the past was Buck and Phil. They at least made it watchable. Gooden is worthless and Chris Miller is fine I suppose, but no way am I tuning in to listen to them call this garbage.

I became a Bullets fan, I think it was 5th or 6th grade when they drafted Juwan Howard and then traded for Chris Webber.

I was a fan all the way through jr high, high school, college and after college. The Wizards threads in here during the Arenas/Jamison/Butler/Hughes era were awesome.

I was excited when they drafted John Wall but sometime during that era my interest waned.

The sports teams I’ve followed through my life (Orioles, Redskins, Wizards) have been largely ****. I’ve watched countless amounts of bad baseball and awful football and yet I’ve always come back for more.

But there’s something about bad basketball that I just can’t stand to watch. I used to tune into practically every Wizards game I could, now if I watch three or four games a year that’s a lot.

I'll always follow my teams. But who really has time to religiously watch sports with a job, family and other commitments?  I don't even care enough to catch Commanders highlights.  I was a die hard sports fan since I discovered sporta, but it's is kind've just background noise for the most part.

The Wizards have been background noise for me for roughly 15 years.  I have been in California since 2000, so it makes it way easier to tune out since I have no television access.  I could stream the games if I wanted to, but I don't.  There have been years where I was more interested than others - those years with Gilbert, Antawn, and Caron were really fun.  Those couple of Wall years were cool.  Aside from that, trash.  This year I will be paying little to no attention.
