But coaches seems to have less patience with Kickers than QB.

I think it's fair to say that kicker is a much more cut and dry position than QB though.

Now I'm not so sure. We seem to even have trouble getting guys able to kick it over the LoS...

I kind of feel bad for Blewitt. Gotta suck that after 5 years of hanging on tooth and nail to his NFL dream, in his first real chance to be legit in the NFL he got blocked 3 times. I think he's played his last game as a professional player.

Paired with a qb who can move the chains between the 20s, but can't throw it deep and lacks the arm strength to be effective in the redzone.

This is both premature and unfair. Sure, Mr. Blewitt had a block or two, but when nobody got in the way, he never missed.

Which raises an interesting question - has any other NFL team ever cut a kicker who made every field goal and extra point that wasn't blocked?

Remember when we cut Forbath because his kickoffs didn't go deep enough, or when we cut Gano because it looked like he folded under pressure after missing a couple potential game winners. And then there's those losers Akers and Suisham.

Not good enough by our standards.

The 49ers only signed him as an injury replacement for Robbie Gould. Now that Gould is healthy, he wasn't needed. And they sure as heck weren't going to release Gould instead.
