Dan should sell the naming rights to the highest bidder.

The team could be the Washington Exxon-Mobil or the Washington Facebook.

Why not?  Everything seems to be for sale these days.

The Washington Pornhub? I would imagine that the logo would be amazing.

Things will never be the same for me and I am sure everyone on this board.

The Warriors looks above, the first one a bit too Sons of Anarchy and the second made me think of Wonder Woman but liked that one better.

I would like to go back to Braves but don't think that will resolve the issue and pressure would still exist.

The most palatable option for me thus far is Warriors and go with the spear logo.  Red Wolves is likely a distant second.  Red Hawks was done by Miami of Ohio as they were the Redskins and changed to the Red Hawks.  I don't think its a good look for an NFL team to have to follow suit of a MAC team.

Warriors is such a yawner.

How bout the Klingons. Paramount could take over for Fed EX and we could remove the stupid color scheme from the top of the stadium.

If we're going Star Trek. We should be the Borg.

Resistance is futile :silly:

There is a part of me that would love Snyder to sell the team to Bezos and then to rename the team the Washington Amazon or Washington Amazons.

To honor American Indian's (Navajo Tribe) service to our nation during World II.  The Navajo's were recruited to speak their language so the Japanese could not decipher radio communications.  These brave American-Indian soldiers were attached to forward deployed combat units, that communicated grid coordinates, troop movements and enemy activities in the Navajo language.  These American heroes were known as, "WIND TALKERS."  The Japanese Army feared these heroes and hated to hear their "TALK," ... Patriotic, honors American Indians, and cool

Bjorn Borg approves of this suggestion.

In addition to Warriors fitting into the Fight Song...which I think you HAVE to keep...I wouldn't mind a few "Fear the Spear" chants (if you can get fans in the seats) as the team is introduced.

While I couldn't of hated the name March more if I tried, I like the Borg suggestion.

Let's be honest, it's much cooler and still embraces the theme that has gotten us to this point.

I didn't like the Redwolves suggestion at first, but that artwork is awesome. Would prefer it to be two words though; "Red Wolves".

It's Red Wolves or Warriors for me so far.

Wolves are one of the highest regarded native American symbols... Red Wolves are native to East coast... they are an endangered species just like us fans.

Whatever name they choose, people are going to complain about it. I'm certain that Snyder will ruin the whole process of renaming the team too.

They should focus group some Gen Z'ers and get their input, because they'll need some youth from all the old folks who say they're going to stop watching once they team is renamed. I'm fine with Washington Warriors or any number of nondescript names that are out there. Keep the same color scheme and make the helmet a blank burgundy. Maybe update it in a few years if they team finally has an identity (which it won't cause of Snyder).

Finally, we can break from the tradition of losing that is the Snyder Redskins and establish a new tradition of losing which is the DC Snyder Football Team (still losers though, probably). Can't wait!

Ah, we’re on very different pages when it comes to March. If it’s any consolation, I don’t think there’s a chance it is picked, but this country has a rich history of protest and whether it was for women getting the vote, desegregation, etc. it has so often addressed things that led to our country becoming better. Besides that imagery, soldiers marching is also a noble thing.

We're not even on the same planet.

Not to drag this into the weeds, but protesting is one thing, and I support the right to do so.  Violent mobs, looting, and overall destruction are very different.

From what’s been mentioned so far, I like:

(in order)

1. Americans

2. Red Wolves

3. Apaches (this would need approval from the tribal leaders even though it’s a bad-ass helicopter)

4. Warthogs (or War Hogs)

5. Red Tails

6. No Name. Washington Football Club. (This could be temporary)

7. Braves (walking the line here, but it’s ours)

8. Battles (reminds me of Cliff Battles)

9. Blitz or Red Blitz

10. Warriors (this is like punting instead of going for it)

People are just too ingrained with the Redskin name.

If we were the Washington Warriors for the past 100 years and had to change our name, and eventually deciding on “Redskins”, we’d 100% think it was a stupid name.

I like red wolves better than red tails.

Has Renegades gained any traction?  I know it’s anti-establishment but we are in a pretty anti-establishment mindset as a country these days.  And it sounds cool and would allow us to keep the scripted r and httr.

Warriors is already taken by golden state and doesn’t address the issue unless we disassociate it from Native American culture (meaning lose the spear and feathers).

1. Americans - Lord, no..."What, so the rest of the players are NOT Americans?"...plus the name sucks lol...doesn't roll off your tongue when paired with Washington.

2. Red Wolves - Sounds too much like an energy drink

3. Apaches (this would need approval from the tribal leaders even though it’s a bad-ass helicopter) - Too specific

4. Warthogs (or War Hogs) - Hell no...everyone would think of Pumbaa instead of George Allen and Joe Gibbs

5. Red Tails - As mentioned, lots of "spanking" jokes especially when we lose (an lose badly)

6. No Name. Washington Football Club. (This could be temporary) - We have a bingo! lol (and not just because it's my suggestion...heh)

7. Braves (walking the line here, but it’s ours) - Eh, I could live with it I guess

8. Battles (reminds me of Cliff Battles) - Nah, plus it would be better if singular and not plural. The Washington Battle sounds more like what we do...don't like the name lol, but remove the "s"

9. Blitz or Red Blitz - Arena league-type name

10. Warriors (this is like punting instead of going for it) - Warriors is actually far more appropriate than almost any other name suggested. I still don't like it much, but I get why it's being considered. Even officials with the National Congress of American Indians approves or the term "Warrior" in connection to NA culture. Plus it serves the double duty of being connected to the military, which the Skins have been honoring for years.

It actually addresses the issue perfectly.

Ties to a warrior culture

Many Native American nations have strong roots as warriors. Throughout the modern US, there were tribal clashes, alliances, and outright wars as long as there have been people living here. Tribes fought over territory, horses, and for honor.

Robert Holden, Deputy Director for the National Congress of American Indians, is a veteran and member of the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes. He believes that many Native people are still drawn to the warrior mentality of the US military thanks to their cultural heritage.

“It’s the warrior cultures,” Holden said. “Warriors have always been in our presence and always will be. . .not only in times of conflict, but in times of peace as well. They became the leaders.”
