One of my favorite coworkers is 60 years old, and a Trumper.(super sports fan, great guy other than being an Obama hater for no reason other than the obvious).

I was leaving when he came in today wearing a mask, and he made a point of telling me to make sure I have my mask on if I have to go anywhere. 😊

To me this isn’t just about opening up society too early.  Society eventually has to open up.  It’s about the administration creating guidelines for re-opening society, pushing governors to go against those guidelines, and not level setting with the people of this country that this is serious and that everyone needs to adhere to the guidelines in order to get back to some level of normalcy.

When you constantly pander to your base and their wants vs. do the right thing, you get what we’ve got.  A mess.

keep your eyes peeled for quite the clip of fla residents in some legislative chamber (didn't catch the specific setting) railing against this area making masks mandatory now....the part i saw was this string of apparently trump supporting white women speaking out at the podium and it's special...they ridicule the credential of the doctors, say they're brainwashed by tv (themselves being loyal rush, fox, and oan supporters no doubt), and one said they were rejecting god's marvelous breathing system

awesome

I saw that.

Found the video of that:

MAy all those Trump loving bimbos get Covid-19.

I see it was already posted, still it warrants a 2nd look.

Our jackass president wasted 3 months of lockdowns by convincing his foolish supporters that science is black magic and that wearing masks is for liberal cucks.

Just imagine what the situation would currently look like if he had told the country that the liberals DIDN'T want them wearing masks. Oh, if only.

The state of VA had like 520 cases today.

Palm Beach County alone had roughly 450.

Couldn’t imagine being a frontline med worker down there right now.

Its gonna get out of hand.

...and Virginia is starting Phase 3 on July 1st. Northam doesn't look like the dumbass chicken**** Governor he was portrayed to be a 4-6 weeks ago.

Edit: Oh...and **** you Ted. Your master spoke. You choose now to go against his wishes? Eat a bag a dicks.

As I said a few days ago.  The policy was patient and firm.  The Governor (who is a doctor) spoke...and the people listened.

Now, things could change quick.  But as of now, VA is hanging in there.

Meanwhile locally, things got a little better today,(or worse depending how one looks at it). A few days ago,I almost walked off the job. Didn't,but was that>.< close to making that day my last. I looked up an hour or so in to my shift and noticed several people not wearing masks. I kept track of this during the rest of the day. Rough estimate. 75% to 80% of the people I saw there did not wear masks. Too damn many knuckle heads for me. Just not worth it. I still have some living to do and I know my wife does. She's a nurse and has to risk things every time she goes to work, much less having to be at risk from me.   I'd prefer not to play the odds with this little virus. I then thought about the high probability of what is probably coming economy wise  and decided to hang in there. Practicing very strict personal guidelines when it comes to this thing is the rule here. Today, the Governor helped with this. Nevada is in the beginning of its own surge. So.

Some are already pissed and I imagine things are going to be edgy around these parts for a bit. Oh well. Perhaps I'll offer them some cheese and crackers to go with their whine. :)

He should get ahead of this, the virus doesn't care about state lines, if some states are already talking about making folks from southern red states self-quarantine, Virginia should do the same.

At some point states like Arizona, Texas, and Florida may throw up their hands again, and that's whether they lose control and careen the whole country towards herd immunity or not.  The "wishful thinking" phase of this global catastrophe by our governments need to end.

The country is filling up like a bathtub right now because of what's going on in the south, if folks can bunker down they should instead of waiting until the water gets to their neck of the woods.

Virginia is still in the bottom third of tests administered per 100k with a population of 8.5 million.  I get wanting to give Northam credit for not being a total ninkumpoop, but we still have a ways to go:

People of color won't be required to wear masks in an Oregon county

(CNN)People of color are exempt from an Oregon county's mask mandate over concerns about racial profiling.

Lincoln County, Oregon, requires most residents to wear face coverings in public settings, indoors or outdoors. The overwhelmingly White county will not require non-White residents to wear them if they fear harassment, the county said this month.

It's one of the first counties in the US to exempt people of color from wearing masks to prevent racial profiling.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/oregon-county-people-of-color-mask-trnd/index.html

This is ridiculous.  We know that people of color are seeing the largest infection rates in the US and they're the ones that won't have to wear masks?  This takes the most vulnerable groups, and make them more likely to be infected and infect others.  If I was an advocacy group or minority church in that area I'd be telling my people "ignore this nonsense and wear your mask."

it's not on these people to stop police violence, that is the job of the police and local government.  PoC shouldn't have to put themselves at greater risk for a problem that isn't there's to solve.  If Lincoln County wants to help them, then they can do so be making sure their police are held accountable and by forcing them to deescalate before using any force.

Breaking radio silence to share an update as to what is going on with the military.  Not offering an opinion or anything, just a statement that can be found readily available on social media.  Surprised the media hasn’t mentioned this at all.

And I’m going quiet again.

We’re all gonna catch it.  There’s never gonna be a vaccine.  Bank on it.

Your best strategy is to balance yourself economically, socially and medically for as long as possible.  Both on a personal level and a broad statewide level.  Last 6 months of 2020 will be worse than the first 6.  Hope for a miracle.

The military knows.  Tip of the cap to Buzz.

IT'S UP TO US.

We've been left without a working government.

Trump is essentially trying to get this global natural disaster over with as quickly as possible so he can see who's left and get unemployment down.  For all we know he's thinking if folks die that's less people out of work.

At minimum that's less government has to spend on unemployment. If ever there was a reason to 25th Amendment this guy, it's him telling us to grab on tight to the merry go round while it spins out of control.

**** this guy, impeach him again.  All it's going take is Texas to finally get it and he's gone before November. He's trying to kill us FFS, how do we know Putin isn't telling him to do this to us?
