Who should be the next GM?

We already have a thread for who should be our next head coach. I think the bigger question should be WHO SHOULD BE OUR NEXT G.M. Now this is obviously assuming Bruce gets fired. My best guess would be, at least 95% of Redskins Nation wants Bruce gone yesterday. I believe that before we choose a new coach, the proper way to do so would be to hire a G.M first, then the new G.M. can hire the new coach. I personally do not know who would be considered as the best G.M. candidates on the market today. That's why i'm hoping he can have this thread to discuss G.M. candidates.

-This is probably a pipe dream option that would never happen, but here goes. Could Nick Saban be a candidate for the G.M position, and not be the coach? He and his staff at Alabama scout, and recruit the best talent across the country, and get the very best of the best to come to their program at Alabama. He obliviously has an eye for talent. Alabama has dominated at the college level year in and year out now for several years. We already have many of his former Alabama players, which one would think could make the job more attractive for him. I guess the biggest question for Nick Saban would be if he was ready to move on from coaching to take on a different roll. Maybe at age 67 he would be ready for a different challenge. Who am I kidding, he will probably never leave Alabama, especially for a non coaching job. Or maybe he should be the G.M. and coach, I don't know. I think I would rather have a G.M. and a coach though, not one person with both rolls. I don't know the answer, but I do know that Bruce's time needs to be done. Who would you guys want for the next G.M.???

Will McClay, though I doubt he'd leave Dallas. I'd take him by a mile.  I wouldn't mind Kyle Smith but I'd take McClay over him.  Almost anyone over Bruce.

Will McClay remains Cowboys' NFL Draft secret weapon

The Dallas Cowboys have had an impressive run of making the most of their draft picks over the last several years and a lot of that success can be attributed to player personnel specialist Will McClay

DALLAS — On Wednesday, the trio of owner Jerry Jones, chief operating officer Stephen Jones, and coach Jason Garrett sat at dais that also included former personnel boss, Gil Brandt, as the Dallas Cowboys held their pre-draft press conference.

Who was absent, but nonetheless as vital as the two Joneses and Garrett, was assistant director of player personnel, Will McClay. In a draft where the Cowboys won't have their first round pick for the first time since 2009, McClay may be the significant piece that still allows Dallas to draft well.

NFL teams can’t steal Will McClay away from the Cowboys, so they are going after the next best thing

My biggest fear is El Dano will bring in another proven loser like Casserly or Riddick. Most likely scenario though, is he's going to hire a big name coach and do his usual disastrous set up of giving the coach full control over personnel.

Anyone else wish we would hire Cooley as a scout?

Which competent worthy GM will accept to deal with a meddling fantasy football fan ?

I can't believe that meddling, nerdy, "please be my friend and think I'm cool", dip**** is the owner of my former favorite team.  Ugh,....

Get Joe Douglas from the Jets.   He was the guy in the front office with the Eagles that helped them get to the Super Bowl.  Now Howie Roseman is failing

again without him for the Eagles.  Allen and Roseman are twin bookends.  Have contract negotiations backgrounds and no football wisdom whatsoever.

Both know how to suck up to their owners.

Most likely scenario is not that.  Most Likely scenario is a year from now we will be gnashing our teeth over Bruce's latest inept move.

Imagining for a sec that someone divine could stop time itself and take the brain out of that loser in that clip and implant it with a brain capable of an ounce of self awareness and remorse, I'd get in contact with Bill Polian, hire him as a consultant, walk him  through my building and tell me me everything I'm doing wrong, how to fix it, and commence with a Godfather I level purge, starting with Bruce.

Then I'd probably promote Smith to GM, complete with title, no shadow ops like we've been doing.
