I like the posts of Haskins isn't ready based in last week. The fact is we have no idea if he could be competent now and If the reports are true and Gruden didn't want him, Gruden could actively be sabotaging his development.  When this game is over Gruden is going to do verbal acrobatics to praise and justify Colt and he is putrid after being in the system forever.

Here's the thing for those that need it. Which is about 98% of the fanbase. :)

Jay didn't want him at 15 because Jay is on the last year of his deal. Without an extension, & the 15th pick, Jay wanted someone that could come in & play DAY 1 as the 15th pick. Doesn't mean Jay didn't want him, just not at 15. This shouldn't be difficult to comprehend or understand.

This also has no bearing on Haskins development.

This is not as bad a shellacking as I predicted, but there's still time. Gotta be at least one pick-6 on the horizon as Colt tries to make Jay proud of him. He doesn't know it, but he doesn't need to do anything for that to happen--Gruden is a good father, he is always proud of his children as long as they try their best.

I always thought this was obvious. A coach on the hot seat doesn't want a project at 15. He wants an instant impact playmaker that can help him keep his job, no matter if he actually likes Haskins.

That's why it's so interesting that Sweat was the coach's guy and trading up for him was the compromise...because he is also a project and not helping us win.
