Impeachment

  1. 1. Should Donald Trump be impeached for obstruction of justice?

The argument that "if they do this with every conversation it isn't a cover up" is kind of flimsy.  You could easily make the argument that because the extra secret method of record keeping is not for this kind of standard transcripts, then Trump is probably hiding other things that warrant a deeper (ooh DEEP STATE) looking into.

Also, I think the bigger assault on our institutions that is coming out from the info we have seen so far is not so much that Trump broke the law (he did) but the lengths that those around him have gone, and likely are still going to, to cover his tracks and conceal his misconduct.  It makes you wonder if they are simply scared of his wrath if they are viewed as being disloyal, or if they are more actively involved in aspects of the actual crimes being alleged. Either/or it isn't good.  If all these guys aren't "on the take" themselves, then I can't understand why they would stand idly by for all this.  Do they feel they have too firmly entrenched themselves onto Team Trump or Die that there is no going back?

Also, the more Rudy has been talking the past couple of days, the more he sounds like a giant rat trying to scurry off the side of a sinking ship hoping it will salvage him somehow.

I'll also say that the longer we go and the more info that leaks out about this, the wider scope this is becoming. It started off merely about a phone call in which Trump was pressuring a foreign leader to concoct some dirt on a political opponent, but the scope of what was going on seems to be growing, and now we have found out that a CIA agent made the same complaint during the time frame in which the whistle blower complaint was being examined by the White House, so looks like there is already some corroboration on some level of stuff.

They really need to hear from the whistle blower. I am already tired of things being leaked a sentence at a time and being over examined and dissected.

Agree. The other thing is, if they did do that with every POTUS conversation then team Trump would have already told us that like 5000 times today.

It is procedurally impossible to do this with every convo. You can’t just shove call transcripts that are not intelligence sensitive into a computer meant to secure confidential intelligence documents.

Forms need to be filled out and justification has to be given to the NSC.

The FBI began investigating Team Trump when they found out that

1)  Russian intelligence had targeted the Dem campaign, and was leaking the "take"

2)  And Team Trump knew this, (and was bragging about it), 7 weeks before the FBI did.

For someone who whines about so called fake news; he sure watches alot of the so called fake news.

It's been reported (and the facts sure seem to bear it out), that he hires people to watch all of the news, and to video every story that mentions him.  So he can watch all of the news stories that mention him.  (And nothing else.)

I don't think for a minute that russia cares if his calls with Putin are made public.  What they are doing is highlighting that Washington can’t be trusted and make the media and others want those conversations between trump and Putin.  If they’re released Russia will use that again to show that Washington can’t be trusted.  The worst part is that they will be right.  No leader will be willing to discuss sensitive issues with the US President if that President can’t keep those conversations out of the papers.
