If you're mediocre and not playing well enough to make a run, staying pat isn't going to do anything to improve your chances. This team is a mess this year and we did absolutely nothing to improve it in the short or long term.
PleaseBlitz
I wouldn't mortgage any part of the future to try and save this team. I'm also fine with not selling a whole bunch **** off because they aren't going to get much for players on expiring contracts and next year they have a solid core and a ton of payroll to reallocate so there is no reason to burn it down. They can challenge for the division this year if things change in a hurry, meaning Harper turns it on, Murphy continues to hit like he's healthy, Soto doesn't hit a wall, Stras comes back and has a second half like he did last year and Gio and Roark stop sucking miserably. A lot of ifs, but they are all revert-to-the-mean stuff. Then they need ATL and Philly to falter just a little bit, which isn't out of the question. skinswillwin06
Wow Murphy looks like he's aged 20 years in the past month. Dude is atrocious in the field now, not that he was any good before
skinswillwin06
Not complaining, but the odds they get shutout tomorrow are high.
CRobi21
A little post trade deadline relief was all the lineup needed I guess..
CRobi21
Murphy can still rake. Wouldn't mind bringing him back, but you gotta hide him in the field at this point. Sticking him at 1B works.

skinswillwin06
A Red Sox win would be huge today. Down 2-0 in the 5th vs Arrieta

Mournblade
Record for most runs in one MLB game is 36 set by the Chicago Colts in 1897. So we're a little more than halfway there

I want to see more 6-4 last 10 instead of 4-6 last 10. This is going to happen.
