Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - I didn't much care for it.  It got decent reviews (68% on Rotten) but I just didn't like it.  Slow and boring.  C-.

Masterminds - Probably the worst SNL cast movie I've ever seen.  It was bad.  Turned it off about 30 minutes in, won't ever finish it.  F.

Don't Think Twice - This film saved my weekend when it came to watching movies.  It was awesome.  Dramedy about an Improv theater that puts out a lot of people to SNL but the story focuses on the ones that don't make it.  I loved this movie.  99% on Rotten.  Gillain Jacobs is hot as ****. A.

miss peregrine's home for peculiar children - I thought it was pretty solid.  Strong Harry Potter universe vibe to it.  Apparently there are like 7 books in this series so maybe they'll make a few more.  Didn't know Sam Jackson was in it.  Eva Green is such a good actress, and she's beautiful too.  B.

Moana - Wow!  Great movie!  Nothing different really, same formula as every other Disney joint....and yet it worked beautifully.  Don't wanna get ahead of myself, but Moana could be approaching top 10 Disney animated films territory.  Really, really good.  A+.

WarcraftRussell-Westbrook.jpg Maybe you had to play WoW to appreciate it?  Didn't like it. Ben Foster is above this garbage. D.

I used to play WoW, never cared too much for the story line, but I'd say that it looked like it would be horrible just from the previews.  No way they weren't going to try and cash in on it though, that game is the most popular mmorpg out there.  I read that they estimate something like 4-6 million active players still, and it came out in 2004.

But, to me, this looked like one of those wait until it comes on HBO or Netflix, rainy day movies.

There are 3 books (so far) in the Miss Peregrine series (Hollow City and Library of Souls being the other two). I'm unsure if a 4th one will be announced.

And a few days later..totally agree with Moana. It was beautiful, the songs were catchy, and the story was solid. Reminded me a lot of the often forgotten and criminally overlooked Brave.

Movie doesn't cover any of the events in WoW, it all takes place long before that game.  I was kind of bummed by that, but more so by their decision to go live action.  Their cut scenes were a great argument for their making an CGI animated movie.

Watched Black Hawk Down yesterday. One of my all time favorites. It had been awhile, and every time I watch it I realize another person that has hit it big. Seriously, look at this cast.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265086/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast

Obi-Wan
The Incredible Hulk

Legolas

Bane

Mr. Fantastic

Lucius Malfoy

Tig from Sons of Anarchy

Ari from Entourage
Jaime Lannister (1st American role?) He was the one I just noticed.

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, but even this many is ludicrous. Make the same movie today with this same cast, and your casting expense would be egregious.

^^ agreed!  I caught BHD a few weeks ago on TV and I was like "dang there's a lot of people in this movie!"  As you said, that was before most of them had really come into their own in Hollywood.  Tom Hardy, Orlando Bloom, Josh Harnett.  They were all babies in Black Hawk Down, all under 24 at the time.

13 Assassins - Samurai fighting porn.  I really enjoyed the build up to the climactic scene --- all the eggs were put into that basket, and it delivered.  Build up of the evil Lord was intense too... if you are a guy who likes intense action movies... watch it.

Machete Kills - I was woefully unprepared for this one despite having seen the previous movie.  They really upped the ante with the ridiculousness of this one.  And just when I thought I'd seen everything, Elon Musk is brought in to send him up in a Space X rocket!  Oops, spoiler alert, he goes to space. (Not actually a spoiler since they play a trailer for the sequel before the movie: Machete Kills Again... In Space!)

Fantastic Beasts - It's Harry Potter: Starring some guy who should probably be the 13th doctor.

Hacksaw Ridge - Interesting WWII movie following the exploits of a man who refused to touch a gun.  Got a bit preachy/bible-thumpy, though, which I guess I should have expected from a movie directed by Mel Gibson.

P-Sway :(.  "You're dead, Willie!"

Race - Pretty good movie about Jesse Owens in the '36 Olympics.  Had no idea Jason Seudekis (sp) was a supporting actor in this as Jesse's coach.  It could've been 30 minutes shorter, but it flowed well enough I guess.  Never heard of Stephan James before but he did a good job as Jesse.  Never heard of the woman who plays the wife either but she's friggin' gorgeous.  I'd give the movie a B.

Going old school, like The Longest Day:  John Wayne , Robert Mitchum , Sean Connery , Richard Burton , Henry Fonda , Rod Steiger, Robert Wagner , Peter Lawford , Roddy McDowell, Eddie Albert, Sal Mineo , Paul Anka , Fabian, Red Buttons, George Segal.

The Accountant - It was okay, worth the watch.  Ben Affleck did a pretty good job portraying someone with Asperger's.  A wee bit predictable, but overall solid.  Lots of good action.  J.K. Simmons is so good that, even in a limited role, he still has a strong impact on a movie.    Anna Kendrick is really pretty, but man is she skinny.  John Lithgow and Shane from TWD were a nice surprise.  B.

The real tough guys are the ones that wear micky mouse shirts

it sucks to be the other two guys in this picture that nobody knows

that could just as easily be a pic that rob Lowe took yesterday.

Umm...Which 2 guys ?

Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, C. Thomas Howell, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, and Matt Dillon ?

Seriously, which 2 guys ?
