Spiderverse was awesome. Even knowing about the good reviews going in I have to say, it far exceeded my expectations. Great animation style, voice actors, story...definitely worthy of the hype. Re your question:

you anti-mixing meat people are crazy. And, for the anti-CFA people, i would add that the chicken egg and cheese on a biscuit from CFA is the best fast food breakfast out there. Last Crusade is better than Raiders of the Lost Ark. I really don't hate the Patriots that much at all. No more than any other decent non-NFCE team. James Cameron is a hack. He hasn't written a compelling character since Sarah Connor.

Let me summarize the bombshells in the memo:

by doing the little things. Don't take politics too seriously. Try to unplug from it from time to time. It's good for you mental health. You didn't become friends with them for their political beliefs in the first place, I assume. If you can't have civil conversations about politics, talk about something else, and don't engage on that topic if they bring it up. If they post a lot of crap on FB that is getting in the way of your friendship, unfollow them. It's good to have friends with varying political positions. Helps you remember that people who disagree with you aren't a bunch of monsters who want to destroy this country. Just good people with differences of opinion on issues that are infinitely more complex in the real world than we treat them in conversation.

Okay. Same hypothetical but this time you want to move to a new state for a job or to care for a relative or for one of the many other reasons people move. Your current insurer does not sell policies in your new state. The folks who do sell there won't sell to you because you had cancer. Or your insurer decides to get out of the private health market altogether. Now what?

Because if they don't, then any insurance purchased on the market (not through your employer) is illusory. Let's say you have a privately purchased plan. You've always been insured your whole life, and paid your premiums every year. Then this year it turns out you have been diagnosed with cancer. When it comes time to renew, your insurance company can (and will) jack your rates to something astronomical. Way more than you could possibly afford. You can't go to another carrier because you have a preexisting condition and they won't cover it. Now you've lost your coverage, permanently. Non-employer based coverage, without a mandate to cover pre-existing conditions, is little better than emergency-only coverage.

Obviously the devil is in the details, particularly the detail of exactly how much of the Medicaid reduction is being left in place, but that first part at least seems like a good idea, and maybe one of those elusive "fixes" to Obamacare everyone has been pining for, with one caveat: IMO they should have to offer plans at each tier if they also want to offer non-compliant plans. Offering only a bronze catastrophic plan, or only a platinum plan, doesn't really further the goals here.

T is a 30k foot guy, not a details guy in any respect. And if you're part of the team and having these convos with Russia, there are a few good reasons to keep T in the dark about it (he's a blabbermouth, plausible deniability, etc.). Whatever was going on there, I don't think he knew the full scope of it. But he's plainly concerned about SOMETHING that Flynn knows, and has gone to great lengths to try to stay in touch with him, end the investigation, etc. to keep him from flipping and spilling the beans.

This is not correct. Handel got 57k fewer votes than Tom Price (134k to his 192k). That's about $420 spent per vote under Price. Ossoff got about 5k more votes than Stooksbury (124k to his 119k). Compared to Romney . Romney won the district by like 20+ points. T won it by 1 Weather update - just drizzle in Cobb county as of about 530. After work crowd should be fine

Update: It actually turned out to be a pretty heavy in spots, and a lengthy storm. Still going at my office, a few miles southwest of the district. For people who were planning on voting at lunch or after work, there is a definite possibility this is a deterrent. The question is, who does that harm the most? I seem to remember reading that expectations were Ossoff would be performing better in early voting and Rs get a lot of Tuesday voting and would be relying on great turnout today to overcome the difference, but that may be apocryphal. Maybe it comes down to who's more motivated to vote, and enthusiasm numbers should definitely be favoring dems. On the other hand, maybe all that enthusiasm only translates to early voting. I would be surprised if we know the winner before early morning.

A number of those are Trump questions, and I would posit part of the reason why he was -20 in this district compared to Romney. We have plenty of jobs and opportunity in this district already. Some of the ones who are already profiting live in places like Ga-6. Like I said, it's a pretty wealthy district, and iirc one of the top 15 house districts in the country in terms of % of adults with a college degree. A lot of these people want tax cuts for the rich, a low regulatory environment, etc. because that's what benefits their pocketbook.

Overreactions are guaranteed no matter the outcome.

GA-6 resident here. I'm interested to hear why it is you think that people voting for Handel in this district would represent a vote against the interests of themselves and their communities. fwiw, I despise Trump, voted Ossoff this morning, and think Handel is a terrible politician who deserves to lose this ruby red district because her campaign was just atrocious...but for a highly educated upper middle class community that is somewhat socially conservative (i.e., more liberal than much of Georgia, but not "liberal") a chamber of commerce republican would probably reflect a lot of the interests of this community. I think you see that reflected in how Ossoff styled his campaign also.

This is not a DIY question, but a home maintenance question about hvac. In short, my house is about 20 years old and the units are original. One has been leaking refrigerant for a few years. We've had it refilled twice, but it's a band aid not a solution. After spending $400+ on a refill last year, that unit went again yesterday. (bonus - they're phasing out the old R-22 refrigerant, so each time it gets dramatically more expensive to refill). So we're going to bite the bullet and replace the units. here's the question: How essential is it to replace the furnace with the A/C units? Those things are 20 years old also, but we haven't had any problems with them yet. Obviously more cost effective to replace everything at once than do it piecemeal, and I know the HVAC guys like to talk about the harmony of the system and whatnot...but is it really in my best interests as a consumer to do both, even if the furnace isn't clearly on the brink of dying? I'm financially able to if that's the best thing to do, but not looking to drop an extra couple grand that I don't have to. Thanks!

I think it depends on how old you are and what you are planning on doing with the money that you have in the market? Timing it right, both when to pull out and one to get back in, is extremely difficult. Very easy to leave too early and get back in too late and end up losing more at the end of the day. Eventually the market will go down. Maybe a lot. But then it will eventually come back up again.

Exactly so. And not just any felony, but a felony that would have constituted one of the most severe crimes/abuses of power ever committed by a President. Recklessly accusing someone of a felony is libel per se. Is libel a "high crime and misdemeanor"? Well that's a vague phrase and I don't know. But I'll tell you this - if perjury meets the bar then I see no reason why libel wouldn't also. Dismissing that as a "petty squabble" is giving short shrift to the gravity of the allegation.

That's called AR (augmented reality). Sounds pretty awesome. That's where FB and Google and all the big players are focusing. Going to have a much bigger effect on our lives than VR will. The possibilities are endless. Ever been on a Disney vacation before? The Mouse has sticky fingers. Hotel room for 2 nights at call it $250/night. 2 days of passes to an amusement park (over $100/day). You're already over $700, and it's not clear if "all inclusive" in that article means food too. Granted, if it is literal when it says $900-$1k/person so that a couple would be paying $1,800-$2k, that's a bit much. But since the hotel room is part of it I'm assuming that would not be the case.
