****in' Aquaman was like the white-helmeted window-licker of the Justice League. Superman was all like, "OK. So everyone's got their assignments, right?"

Aquaman's all jumping up and down, waving his hands, "Munh! Dunhhh!! Ghaaaaaaaa!!!!"

Superman's all like, "OK, and Aquaman, you go make sure no fish get hurt by this evil genius that's 1300 miles inland."

And FWIW, if I ever had a kid that was playing in the backyard with his friends, and I heard the little **** utter the words, "I wanna be Aquaman!" I would do the LATEST of all late-term abortions.

Oh ****...I can't breathe. I'm laughing too hard...

?

But wait, he, like, had a trident, and like, lived underwater....

And he could do the mental-telepathy thing with fishes.

If he could do it with the ****es, now THEN....THEN he'd be the flyest superhero ever. :ols:

I think the most disturbing thing about all of this is the fact that I thought of the dumbest, most boring "well known" superhero of all time to illustrate my point, seriously, I went out on a limb here, and the **** is currently in production.

All we need now is for M Night Shyamalan to direct it ( he could work the fish telepathy angle since he's good at making random, boring/mundane things seem spooky/mysterious, there's no telling what he could do with an entire ocean of fishes at his disposal), and for Nicholas Cage to star in it, because, well, he's Nicholas Cage, and he doesn't know any better.

I didn't think it was possible...but as I see more and more pedantic partisan-type posters come out of the inter-tubz woodwork to fester in the socio-political threads, I think those discussions are becoming more and more frustratingly dense and, of course, often stupid. But then that does seem to be an appropriate reflection of the national scene.

Sub-Mariner WAY > Aquapuss. Subby can not only fly inland and kick near Hulk-level ass, but the Atlantean Armed Forces could take on any military in the world on land! Now that's some happenin' ****!

So I just saw one of those "My Wish" segments on SportsCenter, and the last name of the kid who was in it was Hubbs.

I have no idea what this means.

I never got the appeal of Captain Planet. Had to be the preachiest Super Hero on earth. Yes, we all hate littering, but you don't need to guilt me into recycling. Plus, heart power is bull**** and everyone knows it.

Heart is complete horse****. The guy with that ring was the Ringo Starr of the Planeteers.

I mean how can you sit through crap like Transformers unless you have extreme nostalgia? Zomg, special FX, yeah, old news. This isn't Star Wars in 1977, every big movie today uses impressive CGI. And why does having great CGI have to parallel an awful movie? Couldn't we have great directing/acting/scripts with great CGI like Inception?

Yeah, I agree. It's especially bad when it's used to make characters that could have easily been played by an actor in costume, like 50% of the characters in the Star Wars prequels.

I almost didn't watch Inception because of all the CGI in the trailer. I just assumed it would be horrible.

I saw Transformers 3 last weekend. It was almost unbearable. Way too long and I couldn't get into the characters at all. At least I found the first 2 to be somewhat fun. Also I'm pretty sure they were filming in NYC and calling it DC.

I actually liked the first one, as for the second, it didn't seem like there was enough dialogue, and the two ghetto robots made it annoying as hell at times. I honestly don't even know why they were included in the movie to begin with. I probably won't even watch 3 until it comes out on DVD.

Agreed. It was a hot day and I wanted something completely brain dead to watch, but I almost left.

Also, I'm not falling for 3D again. It's like Michael Bay let his kids make a panorama out of his movie.

An all CGI action film would probably be more on the expensive side for some of these companies, but in my opinion, that's the only way to do certain "based off of tv/comic book/videogame" ficks. Theres only so much that you can do with live action.

One of my dreams is for someone to make a CGI adaptation of the Metal Gear saga, with Hideo Kojima in charge of everything, and for all I know, it may already be in the works. That would blow any action/espionage flick out of the water, and it wouldn't even be remotely close

Yeah that's my bad.

The more I think about it, the more I realize the URL for this message board could easily belong to a porno site.

Yes it could. I read this site for a long time before finally registering, because I didn't want to get an activation email from "Extreme Skins" in my work email inbox. Eventually I just said "**** it." (Pun intended) There were too many good topics on here to not participate.

I have no issue with all-CGI films (see Toy Story), I mean why does a film with loads of great CGI have to suck?

Can't we get more Terminator 2's up in here?
