If no money is exchanged and it never is, they should be fine. You cant suspend people for talking about it.

If they exchanged 10k, especially after this because you KNOW they are getting it from the organizations now, then they ****ing deserve it.

Yeah at that point the punishment would basically be a stupidity tax.

There's nothing to sweep under the rug. It's not like they placed the bet in a casino lmao.

Moving on

That doesn't make any difference, the rule clearly states that they cannot make bets between teammates, It's not like they would do that in a casino.

Now I agree that this is unlikely to amount to anything since they haven't exchanged money or even signed their contracts yet but If this was next year and ten grand had been exchanged they'd be screwed.

Either way it's a nothing story since the rookie symposium hasn't taken place. In what world can you be penalized for something you haven't agreed to? This is a friendly wager, not drugs or an arrest.

I don't think the NFL has the power to punish players who are not NFL players.

Unless these dudes signed a contract, they are free to make bets as they wish.

As long as they shut up about this thing when it all becomes official, I don't think it will be a problem.

SO... I just heard about the bet thing between Nabers and Daniels.

And whether its allowed or not... it's pretty stupid to talk about. Watch our 2nd overall pick get suspended for gambling.

I'd laugh. And then cry.

Nabers is the dummy who couldn't keep his mouth shut and oddly felt compelled to tell people. Might be an early sign as some have said during the process that Nabers is a bit of a personality and not always in a good way.

You can tell in the interview that Daniels was reluctant to talk about it but he's too willing in these interviews to please the interviewer, he will learn not to be that level of a pleaser in the future I assume.

Only good thing to me about the whole thing is while I accede Nabers is a big time talent.  I've also heard he is a bit of a headcase.  Him setting this issue afire is maybe an early sign that the Giants have a player that isn't the easiest dude to deal with.

Post draft interviews demonstrated that, doesn’t look entirely wired up right IMO 😂

That said, great talent. Could go either way that one…

Edit -

and Daniels needs to learn the pro ropes fast…

They signed NFLPA contracts. Marvin Harrison was the only one who didn’t. Regardless, it’s not an issue other than off season fodder. No one getting suspended over it but it’s a good lesson for the whole team to never mention bets of any kind.

All they have to do is say the money is gonig to charity and then do that and it's much dabout nothing. No money has exchanged hands yet. Florio making a mountain out of molehill.  He really needs to just STFU.

As for the competitive advantage of the VR system, that will not last. The other owners will whine and the copetition committee will make it so either all teams have access or no teams. So they better use it while they can. That will go away soon. Still cool as hell though! Washington football in DC technology pioneers! Who knew!

Really ready for some football, even if it's just traing camp and it's only May!  I think I may actually go to TC this year. Will be interesting to see if they move it back to PA. So far Josh is pushing all the right buttons. Now all they need to do is win....   😜🤪:rofl89:

I was in a union for 30 years. The fact that they join doesn't instantly make them subject to policies and procedures. Employers must train new employees on their policies and procedures and get a signature of acknowledgement of receiving the training before they can be held to account. If they didn't break the law, the NFL cant discipline either one yet.

Expect both of them to say publicly that there is no more bet.

Signing a union card doesn't have anything to do with it. Marvin Harrision not signing yet has more to do with HIS contract negotiations as he thinks he's worth more.

It absolutely is an issue if they've broken any laws. If not they both publicly said it, so they both will have to publicly cancel it, then it's fodder.

What a banner day for DooDoo Brain Daniels - front page of ESPN for entering into, what was at minimum a questionable wager (spoiler alert -- neither of them are going to win it, you CAN bet on that) and then pressures the team MVP for the last several seasons into giving up his jersey number (edit: he made Tress cry, seriously who can get behind that ??).  Reeks of the entitlement we all saw coming - not a good start.  So far Daniels Disparagers 1, Jayden Joyfuls 0.

Yep, absolute franchise killer move. Quinn has lost control of the team already. Mariota is the clear #1 in the locker room and JD won’t be able to recover from this. :(

I mean… I think it’s obvious nothing is going to happen here. Having said that, I hope this was a learning moment for him and not the start of many dumb decisions.

Given his overall track record, he appears to learn from mistakes and improve himself every step of the way. He should be fine. Still no worries.

But man… If I were him I’d be careful of what I do with Nabers moving forward :ols:

(Not neighbors. I see you giggling… stop it)

How many times a week do bystanders mutter “you suck” in your general direction, do you think? If you had to put a number on it
