You and I may be the only two ES'ers who thinks any forum here could use more Oscar Wilde. 😛

Oscar Wilde was actually talking about this message board when he wrote …

At various points, he hired four veteran coaches. Marty Schottenheimer, Joe Gibbs, Mike Shanahan, and Ron Rivera.

Those four men, when working for owners other than Snyder, won more than 500 NFL games. They had a regular season winning percentage of over 60 percent. They routinely took their teams to the playoffs. They won multiple Super Bowls.

Under Snyder’s ownership, none left the team with a winning record. That winning percentage of over 60 fell to 43%. They won no championships. Combined, they won a single playoff game. Prior to working with the Commanders, those four coaches had won 32 playoff games.

Heck even Bruce Allen, for as incompetent as he was here, was actually a fairly respected executive before. His Raiders made the Super Bowl and I believe he won an Executive of the Year award.

The Suck of Snyder brings down everything. EVERYTHING. Coaches. Players. Executives.

We could even add Jason Wright to that. Supposedly he was highly respected at McKinsey (which I cannot prove and think is debatable), and his tenure here has been nothing short of a PR disaster.

One could cynically argue that Snyder was a successful businessman before he came here too...(ducks to avoid projectiles)

He was financially successful before he bought the team.  That’s not debatable.

However, how much of that was luck, good circumstances, others work he got credit for, or good business tactics, who knows. Probably some of each.

One thing, prior to buying the Skins, Snyder didn’t really build or run an organization.  He put it together through acquisitions, and managed to maximize profits of existing businesses.  It wasn’t until he bought the skins where he had to actually run an organization.  Of which he has failed spectacularly.

And some really underhanded business practices.

This should be required reading for the Coaches Thread to remind people of what it's really like here.

Marty was only there a year. He showed his worth by finishing 8-8 after that horrible start and with poor qbs.

Joe still the only coach to take team team to playoffs twice.

Shanny did nothing after Elway retired. He was living off that for years.

Ron’s Carolina success was due to having Cam.

Also, both Mike and Ron were fired from their previous jobs.

Little confused here. How is this relevant to the sale of the team though?

Washington Kastles owner Mark Ein joins group led by Josh Harris to buy the Commanders

Quote

Ein, who is the Citi Open tennis tournament chairman and owner of the Washington Kastles, has been friends with Harris since their childhood growing up together in Montgomery County. Together they attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Quote

Ein is a key piece to the puzzle that brought the group together. He has friendships with Harris and Mitchell Rales, who is the other central figure in this bid.
