My only hope is the polls are on who they prefer but a lot of republican voters will listen for Trumps request not to vote anymore in these elections.  If its this close it won't take much.

Any numbers on counties early voting?  If NOVA voted a lot early, that's a good sign from a participation standpoint.

I'm hoping that's the case too honestly. But as dumb as I think some of these people are, I don't know that they are that dumb. We will see.

I think the Dems loose badly in Virginia.  The governorship and , I think it's control of the house will be in top house. There's a chance they loose in NJ.

Yea this is what I wanna see from you lol. My man!

More:

Virginia gov. election gets more than 3x early votes as 2017

At least 667,000 Virginians — over 3 1/2 times more than in all of 2017 — have submitted early ballots for the general election taking place next week, according to data from the Democratic data firm TargetSmart.

Why it matters: The state's bellwether governor's race is expected to be close. It's hard to read much from early vote counts, though, given Democrats have generally been more likely to vote early than Republicans, and early voting has become more accessible and popular only recently in the state.

By the numbers: New state voting laws and the coronavirus pandemic have made early and mail-in voting more popular in Virginia. By comparison, fewer than 190,000 votes were cast early in all of 2017 — when Virginia last had a gubernatorial election.

55% of early voters so far are likely Democrats, according to TargetSmart's models, compared to 30% likely Republicans.

Early Virginia voters also are far more likely to be consistent and dedicated voters. Only 13% of votes so far were cast by infrequent or first-time voters, according to the data.

I’ve spent some time comparing 2017 turnout to 2020 turnout.

I looked at three areas of the state: Nova, Richmond and surrounding counties, and Tidewater area.  Now, I may have not picked up all of the correct localities when I grouped them together, but I think I have it mostly right.

These three areas make up 57-58% of the state turnout.  (I’ve excluded third party votes here and am just looking at Dem/Rep results)

In areas that are not in those three areas, the results were almost identical 40.52/40.5 for Northam Biden.

If the turnout increases to 3M and those three area remains at 57-58% of the total turnout, and McAuliffe falls from 69% to 62% there AND he falls from 40% to 35% in the other areas, he’d still eek out a win.

Edit:

There were 2.57M votes in 2017 and 4.38M in 2020.

Thankfully I'm not subject to the VA Gov ad blitz,  but I'd be curious if the Dems follow the current

model elsewhere of taking over the airwaves the last week.

Newsom and Brown have use that model in California. Not sure if it applies to toss-up states.

There are some good nuggets in this article.  One is that, according to the polls, Education is the most important issue for Republican voters.

If, by "education", you mean "the 'right' of lying Republican Karens to demand that schools not tell people that they're lying."

Re: Patti Hidalgo Menders

Wow, if anything we don't do enough to teach "critical thinking theory" about racism. Poor lady doesn't even realize what a racist POS she comes off as.

From one of the richest and well educated areas (is Leesburg part of Fairfax County?).  Who even knows if Fairfax County is the best public schools in US... anymore?  I was shocked when my South Korean born wife knew about my school district...

It will get worse in 22, where the gop victory will be big enough that baring a Dem landslide in 24; the Dems won’t be able to win back enough seats to take back control.

I agree with the sentiment even if I disagree with going along with it.  Truth is, Dems are centrists and will act as such.  If a party emerged that was as far left as the Republicans are far right, it would put a lot of things in perspective.  Thats never going to happen though, so we will have to continue these games and act like the billionaires dont own both parties.  I mean, Bernie is viewed as a communist and his whole gig is just hey guys, everybody else in the free world has these things and we probably should too.

Ugh, its so frustrating! Now, we how to "worry" about the GOP getting some ground in the suburbs. Everyone is treating these signs like they're the doctrine or something, you're seeing more signs in the burbs because that is what Youngkin is targeting. I think its funny that some of you think that the few houses with several Youngkin signs, somehow usurp the equally spread out Dem signs because they're bunched up in yards.

He won't come to Virginia until after the election (if Vest Guy wins).  Trump cannot put himself in the position to have tried and failed to get that guy elected.  He has to be able to take credit if he wins and not be blamed if he loses (and say the guy wasn't MAGA enough).

I don't like either of these two bums, the same thing as the presidential election, Mcaulife saying parents shouldn't be involved in what is being taught in schools is stupid....Using a book that's a Pulitzer Prize winning title saying it gave a 17 year old nightmares is also stupid....All these elections are sad where are the people that are moderate, Debates turn into look that guys TRUMP vs Look that guys a SOCIALIST....yet these are suppose to be people with advanced degrees and success and they both look like children running for SGA president in an elementary school...

If getting spammed by the Dems is any sense of anxiety (or just that they are doing their jobs for a change), Virginia is getting their full attention.

I'm not sure how I got on a Dem email list but I'm getting three emails a day ... from Terry, Mary Trump and more.
