You better have your own house in order before you rake somebody else over the coals for things that are also going on in your organization. Once you go all self-righteous...expect a thorough examination of what goes on under your roof as well. Not saying that it's right, but it's the way of the world. Please correct me if I wrong as I’m far from an expert on that, but I don’t think any criminal action can be taken. And none of those mentioned work for the organization anymore either. So there just isn’t much else left to do other than profusely apologize and take a deep dive into making sure it doesn’t happen again. Santos allegedly did some groping. Even without that this whole situation links to making the cheerleaders escorts, this stuff stinks from the top down.

When you consider all the rumors that were floating around, about "bribing refs," Snyder being "linked to Epstein," Gruden's thing with Capri Bibbs, "drug and alcohol abuse" from Snyder ... the "that's it?" response, while wrong at its core, is at least understandable as an initial gut reaction, especially considering how so many of our hopes were tied to the idea that this could FINALLY be the end of Snyder. It isn't. At least not right now. And that's a disappointment for me. I'm glad all this came out, though. The people involved needed to be shown for who they are. It's just ultimately disappointing that the person I've always considered to be the real culprit is still relatively safe. It's like arresting the Joker's minions and not getting the Joker. As long as the Joker is still at large, he'll always find more minions.

Again, Mark Cuban and the Mavs dealt with almost the exact same situation, but actually on a more intense level and removing him as owner was never even discussed. I am not sure how pointing that out makes me more of a homer.

Whether or not people like you or don’t like you shouldn’t determine whether or not you are held accountable for essentially the same offense. I am sure his fellow owners aren’t big Snyder fans. Even if some of them have nothing against him in a personal manner (Jerruah apparently gets along with him) I am sure they view him as someone who doesn’t bring anything positive to the table for the league. So yes, I bet there are some that wouldn’t mind finding a reason to oust him. BUT... if they read this story I imagine many will be VERY reluctant to set this type of allegation as the precedent for being removed.

Burgundy Yoda
I need to hold onto optimism. My hope right now is that either more is going to leak out, or that Snyder made a secret handshake deal to soften this article up with the NFL/WaPo if he agreed to sell the team. I think this whole thing is so much deeper and we just got chicken feed for a story in comparison to what it probably really was. Califan007 The Constipated
Speaking of the NDAs (well, some of you were on the last page or so lol)... I've signed more than my share of NDAs over the last 30 years. I think I signed most of them at the time I was hired, not at the time I parted ways with the companies--I've been an independent contractor almost all of my adult life, and have worked with a wide variety of companies trying to get products to market, so making sure I didn't say anything about what they were doing was paramount. Anyway, I did notice that the article never said the women were made to sign their NDAs when they left--actually, very little is said about the circumstances behind them no longer being with the team. It's presented as if it was their choice. At any rate, it would be almost impossible to get someone to sign an NDA when they're quitting and especially if they're getting fired...that's why you sign them up front, not on the back end. I mean, if you refuse to sign it what are they gonna do? lol...at least in the beginning you can say their employment is contingent upon them singing the NDA. The only way you can get someone to sign an NDA when they are either being fired or quitting is 1) they are quitting on good terms and have no problem signing it, or 2) you pay them a large sum of money on their way out but only if they sign the NDA. Since the article did not mention that happening I'm gonna assume for now that was not the case here. By comparison Richardson and the Panthers absolutely paid women to keep quiet, and it was passed on to investigators and the press that they did. I'd tend to think that would have been passed on here as well if payments were associated with the NDAs after the fact. tl:dr - I'm doubting that the team made these women sign an NDA on the way out a way to keep the sexual harassment under wraps. Conn
Yeah, I think it's fair to assume most of the people working in the building probably have to sign an NDA to take the job in the first place. 88Comrade2000
USA Today: Opinion: Daniel Snyder is no longer just a headache for the NFL, he's become a liability >>> We’re about to see what, if anything, the NFL has learned in the last six years. In the weeks that followed the release of those horrific videos of Ray Rice knocking his then-fiancee unconscious and the searing criticism of his laughably lax suspension, Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged that the league had fallen short. That its approach to domestic and sexual violence had demeaned and devalued women, putting their health and safety in danger. Six years later, here we are again. The painstakingly detailed, damning report Thursday by The Washington Post does not allege sexual or physical assault. But the sexual harassment and verbal abuse that more than a dozen women said they were subjected to by Washington team executives, including some who were members of owner Daniel Snyder’s inner circle, is just as debasing and just as harmful.<<<
wilco_holland
Its bad and terrible. It should never happen, not even once but Redskins had a hole culture of sexual harassment. I feel bad for all the women who took this job and has to go through it. But... D.C. media made a mistake. The hype overshadowed the real story. We all know it's bad but it's not at the level it was hyped for. We are not a drugs cartel with bungabunga parties with all the employees. Now it feels like "oooo just sexual harassment". And that is terrible. Edited July 17, 2020 by wilco_holland
