How the hell did Haskins become the "We need him to make the playoffs" QB? lol...I'm having an extraordinarily hard time processing this train of thought.  Unless it's mainly about practice, in which case I get it.

Right? A 4 game suspension minimum. This is ridiculous. No accountability. Same old football team....

You can support Ron, like the hire, appreciate what he's been through, but still disagree with the decision.  I know everything is about choosing one side or the other these days but it doesn't have to be.

I'll be hoping for the best on Sunday and I feel a bit better after hearing Alex say he plans on being out there on gameday.

I’d argue that having him near the team would be a reckless and unnecessary risk.

Covid list him now and keep him there as long as possible.

Unless you know

A Smith is a lock to play this week

or

B You are cool w/ basically punting on getting into the playoffs

it is not unnecessary. It is reckless tho.

If they had any kind f confidence in the other QBs on the roster one of them would be getting some blow. They are trying to lock up the div this week.

I have to assume it is because the alternatives are as follows:

- a QB with a leg attached by bubble gum and paper clips.

- a QB who is mostly recognizable because he is confused with our DE.

- a QB who may or may not be a ****ty German beer.

If Alex can't play, and its not Haskins then you got an undrafted FA who has never played in the NFL including preseason and another dude who they just pulled off the street.  I am not a big Haskins guy but I'd still put my bets on him versus the alternative in a must win game.

I guess I see it as we can win with Alex starting. Anyone else just adjusts how much we lose by lol...With the QBs other than Smith it feels like you need rent money and your choices to raise the money are buy lottery scratch-offs or go to the casino and play slot machines. I think either way you're gonna be late on your rent.

Just a thought, but is the Covid protocols suspension and fine less, because he was at a Hotel Party and not actually in a club?  I don't like what he did, but it might be a difference in being around 15 people or less in a Hotel Party compared to being in a strip club!!!!

I actually would feel more optimistic with Heineken lol...

"Less"? it was the largest known fine for a COVID-19 protocol violation so far in the NFL.

Do they really think revoking his captain status and fining him is going to help him learn?  This slap on the wrist is only going to enable him further.

He's probably already got a "C" tattooed on his chest in the same spot anyway to show off to the strippers.  🤮

Forgot one other thing from the Keim podcast

He talked about the contrast of Haskins celebrating his performance against the Ravens in spite of the loss to Chase Young taking the Lions loss hard and his part in it, punched the walls, a reporter tried to placate him and Chase would have none of it and went on about that they lost.  Young being in a foul mood after the loss.  Haskins not so much.

That’s not German dammit.  It’s Netherlands.  My Bavarian side says FU

No, we can win the division with 2 losses by us...if Philly and Dallas tie Sunday, and then Dallas and NYG tie in Week 17

We're counting on multiple ties now, are we?  I seem to recall getting some guff a few months ago for mentioning the NFL's glory days of multiple ties.  Ok then.

Don't make light of this injury!  Josh Doctson would've missed 6-8 weeks if he got slapped on the wrist.

It's more of a testament to how not viable Heinecke and Montez are.  I dont think much of Haskins as a QB, but he's still the best chance to win this game if Smith cant play.  By a mile, IMO.

Doesn’t matter. He shouldn’t play regardless. He could put players on Carolina in jeopardy as well if he has it.

If Smith can’t go we roll with the punches. It’s the right thing to do.

That, and I'm sure if they thought Montez was better, he'd be starting this week.

Exactly. He is the best chance behind Alex to get the team into the playoffs. That was the extent of the calculation.

The rest of it can come after the season is over.

Consider that he would have time between last Sunday night and this Sunday to have a positive test, if he is positive. If he’s tested everyday then he loses minimal risk to everyone involved as long as they continue to follow the protocol. Social distancing. Wearing masks. Washing hands. That’s what all that’s for.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong on the science, but you test positive if you are either shedding off viral load, whatever that means, or you show you have the antibodies. He can’t be contagious unless he’s shedding the virus.....so wouldn’t that mean he’s safe until he is?

Im seriously asking if anyone knows....cause I’m not 100% on that but currently that is my understanding

That’s a good question. I’d like to know as well. I was under the impression you can pass the virus (ie you are contagious) if it is in incubation and you test negative. Maybe my interpretation is incorrect.
