  1. 1. Should Donald Trump be impeached for obstruction of justice?

Trump is a symptom. Even if he's impeached and removed, or even if he loses in 2020, there's a underlying issue that needs to be addressed and resolved.

He'll be martyred. There will be terrorist groups that sprout up in his wake. The "civil war" thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It won't be destiny. He's already created it by saying it. The crazies will literally become the jihadists they claim to hate.

However, it will all be worth it. I'd rather we have to snuff out Trumpist terror cells than live under this ridiculous reign of dangerous idiocy.

True.  After all, Trump is the best GOP president; according to his cult.  Even better than Abe Lincoln.

If you think Trump is better than Lincoln; you are hopeless.

jeezzz... set the bar a little more appropriately, please.

if you think the trump presidency is better than a kick in the nuts; you are hopeless.

Voting out the GOP will absolutely address many problems. You aren’t fixing the country until the people who are bootlicking a deranged sociopath are shown the door in record electoral losses.

We aren’t a third world country where only revolutions can address systemic corruption. Punishing deeply rooted corruption at the ballot box is how you fix any policy issue in this country. Don’t treat it like a trivial thing that makes no difference.

I second that.

IT's too bad we can't have real discussion on the issues.  We know where Bernie and Lizzie stands.  What's the right's counterplan to that?  There is none.

we need to wipe out the gOP from power everywhere.  Then start over with an alternative. ACtually,  we really need 2 alternatives.  Have the left- which will eventually have control of the Democratic party.  The right.  The center.

Sure.

I mean, just look at how the GOP improved after the voters punished them for W.

There are a segment of voters in this country that has the attention span of a toddler that again and again bought into the BS the GOP has been selling for three decades. Hopefully they see Trump and realize that this isn't about just voting him out in one election, but getting rid of the entire apparatus of corruption of which he is only one person. Some ex-GOP'ers seem to be reaching that conclusion at least:

you do realize that this has been going on since Bush/Cheney Yellowcake.....

good ol' CIA tactics

Yep...and long before Bush/Cheney Yellowcake.

What's amazing to me is the limited effort it takes to disprove the claims these charlatans make on a daily basis.

How does voting out the GOP fix the ~40% that agree with them.  Large portions of the country want all Muslims deported, gays back in the closet, etc.  Voting people out will do nothing to fix this issue.  If anything, Trump has at least been a useful idiot by showing us just how much of the country doesn’t actually care about what America stands for despite what they say.

To stick with @tshile’s analogy, Trump is the loud, painful cough that comes with pneumonia.  Voting him out is just giving some cough drops.  It does nothing to fix the underlying issues (that a scary large portion of our people are just horrible).  Sure, it helps quiet you down some until you get better........or die.

You will never change how those people feel or what they believe.  Eventually, a good chunk of them will die off. A lot but not all of Trump’s support is baby boomers.

Each election you vote out as many Republicans as you can. Take the power away from those types and things will get better.

It is, but it’s also not necessary for them to change in order for our government to function better. We’re three years removed from a government run by a Harvard constitutional lawyer, who had zero people indicted and found guilty in his administration and campaigns in his 8 years of office. We know what responsible governing looks like.

The nutjobs can waive their Q flags and yet none of their bad opinions matter if they are losers at the ballot box.

You say this like Judicial Watch ever had a shred of legitimacy and wasn’t founded for the sole purpose of vomiting a legal-sounding sheen onto nutso FAR rightwing craziness.

We know they lie most of the time. But in a post to complain about all of this in a way that seems like he had no idea what the replies would be about the law.
