Because he know's he is screwed in a lot of ways, and this fanbase has had it with him. Not extending TM will be the icing on the cake and dan may be lynched because of it. Wasn't there a poll a few years ago (when BA was still here) in which Danny Boy was shocked at how disliked he was by the fanbase? Look at the teams that are doling out the big guaranteed contracts with huge bonuses. They need lots of cash to pull that off. Snyder doesn't have that kind of money. He has on real business ventures outside of this franchise and its been one of the least revenue generating in recent years with the name change, scandals etc. That's the reason why our contract extensions come so late if at all. And you don't have to put the money in an escrow account. It's a terrible idea, of course. Will anger Terry and be non-stop drama. So bank on it happening. He knows full well he is getting a deal from somebody this year. I'd say bare minimum, the org is at least stringing him along with the promise of a new deal, or has flat out told him it will get done at some point.
