Primary Overhaul:

Round 1 – 3 states from 3 “regions” – Regions A – 3 total

Round 2 – 3 more states from 3 “regions” – Regions A – 6 total

Round 3 – 4 states from 4 “regions” – Regions B – 10 total

Round 4 – 5 states from 5 “regions” – Regions C – 15 total

Round 5 – 7 states from 6 “regions” – Regions D – 22 total

Round 6 – 7 states from 6 “regions” – Regions D – 29 total

Round 7 – 7 states from 6 “regions” – Regions D – 36 total

Round 8 – 14 states from 6 “regions” – Regions D – 50 total

 

For rounds 5-7, the 7th state is determined first by random draw of the region, and then by random draw of the state.  The region from round 5 with the 2nd state cannot have a 2nd state in round 6-7, and region from round 6 with 2nd state also not allowed a 2nd state in round 7.

 

TERRITORIES: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington D.C. – Assigned a random number 1-8 (2 numbers have nothing), random number is chosen for each round, meaning 6 of 8 rounds will have a territory, and 2 will have no territory voting)

I think this is more of an "Iowa" problem.  Sure the DNC didn't help, but it sounds like more of this is at the feet of the state D party, not the national one.

 

Everybody bends over backwards to try and make the caucus work, and it's just an inherently TERRIBLE system.  Like just the worst.

 

The problems will be rapidly gone once we get to actual primaries with, y'know, actual election infrastructure.

Yes, Biden's platform is beating Trump, so if he gets blown out in Iowa it will have a ripple effect to his black support in South Carolina like Obama beating Hillary did in 08.

 

Jus my opinion, but even the rumors this is what's happening that's what I was seeing while watch CNN last night, even if the results come out after New Hampshire the damage was done.  Biden winning Iowa coulda dented what's looking for a Bernie blowout in New Hampshire.

I'm not a fan of these polls, but it's what we got, I trust you when it comes to sources, sometimes I dont get what I'm looking at because of so much conflicting information.  I'm jus trying to put two and two together, I think it's fair to say Biden needed Iowa to win New Hampshire, maybe not South Carolina, but definetly New Hampshire.

Devils advocate, huge complaint about the caucuses is you have to stay in there for a long period of time, it's not an in and out vote like we get with primaries. If folks got jobs or kids, thatd doesnt sound realistic.

 

Caucuses need to go, it's not cute anymore.

Sucks for anyone who can't devote an entire day to this very undemocratic process. I would never caucus personally. It's really dumb that we're still doing this, in Iowa of all places.

if she somehow finished 4th ahead of Biden, she'll stick around awhile.  You never know who might wind up being the compromise candidate if you have two larger factions that can't agree and a 3rd person hanging around waiting for an opportunity.  Don't know if she has the cash to do that though.

 

As far as the caucus thing goes, I admit this sucks but a small part of me would like to experience it once.  I don't know if I'd want to go through a full day of listening to people badger me about why I should switch to their side, but to by a fly on the wall while it is going on, could be interesting.
