Warhead36
I'm no Republican supporter but at least they're organized and committed to their cause. The Democratic party is a joke.

Democrats shouldn't let Iowa be first because Iowa doesn't represent the party very well, not because they can't run an election (but that certainly doesn't help). DogofWar1
Just now, Warhead36 said: I'm no Republican supporter but at least they're organized and committed to their cause. The Democratic party is a joke. I think this is more of an "Iowa" problem. Sure the DNC didn't help, but it sounds like more of this is at the feet of the state D party, not the national one. Everybody bends over backwards to try and make the caucus work, and it's just an inherently TERRIBLE system. Like just the worst. The problems will be rapidly gone once we get to actual primaries with, y'know, actual election infrastructure.

PiLfan
Someone asked me how the Iowa caucuses work, and I said it's basically like a jump-to-conclusions mat. Except nowhere near as fun.

Springfield
If Bernie pounded that caucus, would it really be a big deal? Frankly, I hope that Bernie gets the nomination and mother****s all these republicans who are pulling for him now because they think he’s some sort of socialist loon who could never bear Trump. Yes, Biden's platform is beating Trump, so if he gets blown out in Iowa it will have a ripple effect to his black support in South Carolina like Obama beating Hillary did in 08. Jus my opinion, but even the rumors this is what's happening that's what I was seeing while watch CNN last night, even if the results come out after New Hampshire the damage was done. Biden winning Iowa coulda dented what's looking for a Bernie blowout in New Hampshire.

Are there polls showing Bernie winning in a blowout in New Hampshire? https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/481327-sanders-leading-in-new-hampshire-ahead-of-primary-poll Quote Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is leading in New Hampshire one week out from the first-in-the-nation presidential primary, according to a Boston Globe/WBZ-TV/Suffolk University poll. The survey, released late Monday, showed Sanders with 24 percent support among likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters. Former Vice President Joe Biden trailed at 18 percent, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) at 13 percent. The poll is likely to bode well for Sanders, who overwhelmingly won the state's primary in 2016. Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg received 11 percent support, while the rest of the field polled at single digits. Quote The candidates are set to hit the ground running in New Hampshire on Tuesday as they await the results out of Iowa. Buttigieg is slated to hold at least five events in the state, while Sanders will hold a town hall and deliver his response to Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday. Warren will also hold a town hall in the state and campaign alongside former 2020 Democratic contender Julián Castro.

I'm jus trying to put two and two together, I think it's fair to say Biden needed Iowa to win New Hampshire, maybe not South Carolina, but definetly New Hampshire. Devils advocate, huge complaint about the caucuses is you have to stay in there for a long period of time, it's not an in and out vote like we get with primaries. If folks got jobs or kids, thatd doesnt sound realistic. Caucuses need to go, it's not cute anymore.

You never know who might wind up being the compromise candidate if you have two larger factions that can't agree and a 3rd person hanging around waiting for an opportunity. Don't know if she has the cash to do that though. As far as the caucus thing goes, I admit this sucks but a small part of me would like to experience it once. I don't know if I'd want to go through a full day of listening to people badger me about why I should switch to their side, but to by a fly on the wall while it is going on, could be interesting.
