If Bernie pounded that caucus, would it really be a big deal?

Frankly, I hope that Bernie gets the nomination and mother****s all these republicans who are pulling for him now because they think he’s some sort of socialist loon who could never bear Trump.

I've pointed out the Trythebeal effect to my Trumpster colleague who is considering voting for Sanders in the Arizona primary.

BTW voting for revenge is what what brought you Trump and you want to repeat it with Sanders?

If they were smart they'd try to salvage some of this by releasing the results a few minutes before the State of the Union in order to steal some of the Presidents Thunder.

1.  What’s the Trythebeal effect?

2.  I can stand his policies, so yeah?

Trythebeal voted for Trump in the 2016 Virginia primaries thinking that would help Clinton.  Be careful what you wish for in other words.

Fair enough.

That said.  I am pro MFA, pro $15 min wage, pro collecting tax on large corps.  Just about the only policy I disagree with, off the top of my head, is free college.

I like others better, but I don’t really dislike Bernie at all.

538 seems to think Biden is the biggest benefactor from the Iowa fiasco.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/iowa-might-have-screwed-up-the-whole-nomination-process/

....In trying to build a forecast model of the Democratic primaries, we literally had to think about the entire process from start (Iowa) to finish (the Virgin Islands on June 6). Actually, we had to do more than that. Since the nomination process is sequential — states vote one at a time rather than all at once — we had to determine, empirically, how much the results of one state can affect the rest.

The answer in the case of Iowa is that it matters a lot. Despite its demographic non-representativeness, and the quirks of the caucuses process, the amount of media coverage the state gets makes it far more valuable a prize than you’d assume from the fact that it only accounts for 41 of the Democrats’ 3,979 pledged delegates.

More specifically, we estimate — based on testing how much the results in various states have historically changed the candidates’ position in national polls — that Iowa was the second most-important date on the calendar this year, trailing only Super Tuesday. It was worth the equivalent of almost 800 delegates, about 20 times its actual number......

Messing up the data is a pretty big **** up. Releasing only half of it is just dumb. Who does that help?

The person that the half of the data supports.

Cause that'll be the takeaway - that person won Iowa

Releasing the rest of the data a few days later, and having the total data tell a different story, wont' matter. First headline usually wins.

This.  Iowa is entirely about the momentum it generates, which is solely due to it being first.  The number of delegates, 41, is really small potatoes.

So if you are the first one to be declared a winner, even if it's only half the results, you still win.

the funny (or not) part of all of this is apparently it's really an issue with iowa

but it doesn't matter, it makes the entire DNC look bad (even if they legitimately had nothing to do with it)

You even got Bloomberg taking shots at the field/DNC over it.

It is one of the fascinating things (for me) about the primary - everyone's willing to crap all over the team they're fighting to represent in just a few months... I'm not positive, but I feel like sometimes that hurts and sometimes it doesn't. Funny either way.

Yeah.  Which is exactly why they shouldn't release half the result.  Can you imagine the outcry if half result shows Buttigieg as the winner and full result shows Sanders won?  Oh boy....

Which was my point but of course I post it in the most nonsensical way possible. 😑

The company behind the murky results and shady explanations is, fittingly, named Shadow.  lol

I went to the Shadow Inc site and this is in their about us page explaining their name.

Why Shadow?
When a light is shining, Shadows are a constant companion. We see ourselves as building a long-term, side-by-side “Shadow” of tech infrastructure to the Democratic Party and the progressive community at large.

They are the shadows in the light?  Reads like a not so subtle subsidiary of Hydra.

Eh, they release partial counts all the time.

Did ya'll hear about the voter wanting to change her vote after belatedly learning he had a husband?

Do these people live under a rock? :807:
