Agree.  Also, I do not understand how "Trump" and "Law and Order" go together at all.  Especially the "Order" part, his administration is the most chaotic in American history by a gigantic margin.

your problem is you don’t remove 3/4 of your brain before trying to understand the counter-narrative

There will be some attacks on Biden that can still prove to be effective, but so far the "he is secretly being controlled by the socialist shadow people" is not one of them.  People know  Biden too well.  They may not like him a whole not. Might not be enthused about him being the President, but they aren't falling for the usual nonsense you get from these ads.

When it comes to Biden going after Trump on the Law & Order stuff, this is what I would try giving a chance. I would say that Trump has no real solutions for the issues that bring these protesters out in the first place. Whether you agree with one or twenty of the issues protesters are voicing frustration over, the bottomline is that Trump has shown zero ability to have any empathy or willingness to tackle those issues, furthermore, Trump's solution is to having the streets of our cities looking like third world countries with law enforcement walking around patrolling blocks with machine guns.  THAT is Trump's vision for American cities.

Biden's campaign can't simply sit back and turn this into a "I will be tougher" back & forth.

The ads are not making any change. The polls (yes they are believable) are showing what could be described as an historic number of people that have already made up their mind. This president is so divisive you are either with him or against him. There is just not much middle ground here. I think the last i say it was like 3% undecided among registered and likely voters.

I am not sure the debates will make much difference either. We will see.

completely agree. i think most people know who theyre voting for at this point. the difference will come down to voter suppression and legal fights against mail-in ballots. ads and debates wont change either one of those, unless the ads specifically tell people how to fight voter suppression

Anyone else find a bit of irony that you see all these #SilentMajority  #GreatAwakening hastags all over social media, referring to the supposed majority of America ready to vote for Trump, yet they are also vehemently against moving to a popular vote system?

Or make it safe for people to vote.

Whether or not he did or didn't, you can be sure that Barr is going to very publicly announce investigations to find out.

I mean, he's all but confirmed he's going to announce an investigation as his October surprise. Can't wait for the media to fall into this trap again

Exactly. They have been not so quietly hinting it will be about Obama and Biden "spying" on the trump campaign. He is hopping he gets the same boost from that as he did from the last minute Comey announcement to reopen the hillary email case.

It may have some impact but not nearly as much. Again, many people have made up their minds. If you believe trump then you have already decided to vote for him. If you don't believe the spy thing then barr announcing an investigation will be shrugged off.

I am more both concerned and surprised by the poll showing Biden losing the Latino vote in FL to the point trump is forging ahead and will likely take FL. I was really hoping that state up for grabs. Without FL trump virtually has no chance. With it he has a better than even chance.

I really do not like how this is going. Hope I am just being paranoid. I just am not sure I can stand the thought of another 4 yrs of bunker boy and band of ****-ups. But it sure seems like it's headed that way.

Everything else aside, I am just astounded at how close it is. You would think with all the garbage this clown has done and presided over the last 3.5 yrs, it should be a landslide for anyone running against him. But yet here we are - the result very much in question. It's embarrassing to think we have that many ****ed up people in this country. They are crawling out of the woodwork thanks to this idiot.

NEW: Trump has not held a single mock debate session, and has no plans to stage a formal practice round, as he readies for his first faceoff with Joe Biden in less than three weeks.

1)  He doesn't plan to appeal to people who pay attention to logic or facts.

2)  And we all know he won;t retain more than 4 words of it, anyway.

I think some of how the debates go will come down to whether or not the moderators will do anything to rein Trump in when he goes nuts and starts lying over and over. If they just let him get away with it and only meekly dissent or try to intervene, it could be a cluster****. If they set clear rules and interject to vigorously enforce them then Trump will end up looking like a complete jackass.

I've thought for a long time that debates should include mic cut offs in the event that a candidate breaks the rules or veers too far away on a meaningless tangent, especially in an effort to avoid answering a tough question. Our politicians are treated with kid gloves here unfortunately, and most of the media always seem to go out of their way to present both sides as equal...even if one side is presenting a bald faced lie.

I want the moderators to have an air horn, which they will use if either candidate states something which has peen shown to be untrue on Snopes or Politifact more than 48 hours prior to the debate.

Or if the moderators simply hold him to the standard of a normal President, where his record is fair game and 180,000 people are actually dead from Covid.

Yeah, but have they ever truly done that? It seems like he leads them around and they fall for it too often. Though, to be fair, they're in an unprecedented situation where they have to decide whether to simply not cover the President of the United States at all or air him and all of his lies. It's so hard to fact check so many lies in real time. Having someone in that level of public office who lies as much as he does is completely without parallel in this country. You have to go to places like the USSR and currently NK to see that sort of thing.

As far as COVID-19, It's pretty much 100% certain that there will be over 200k by the time the first debate. That will be a bad number for Trump and hopefully Biden really reinforces just how many goddamn dead people that is. I fear that as a country we're starting to become a bit distanced from just how bad our death toll is.
