At 6 generations, we are talking about 1/64, or around 1.5% Native American ancestry. I understand that Bustamante is a world-class specialist when it comes to Native American ancestry, but on some calculators even I get close to 2% Native American. And guess what, I am South Asian. A lot of Northern Europeans (not White Americans, I mean Northern Europeans like Swedes) also score some Native American on some calculators. The reason for that is that Native Americans went to the Americas from Siberia. Both Europeans and Native Americans share an ancestry called Ancestral North Eurasian. There aren't many Native American populations that are 100% Native American remaining in the world. I remember looking at genetic data of Mayans. They scored close to 10%. One group that is 100% Native American is the Karitiana from Brazil. I just don't buy Elizabeth Warren's claim. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't.
