I hope tonight's game erases any illusion about the "talent" level on this team.

Whoever comes here next will have something to work with. That's all Red Lobster could do in 4 years. Not bad but certainly no cigar.

Rak was drafted by Cerrato wasnt he??? I also dont think we should resign him regardless....unless its for what an average player gets paid.

this team sucks from front to back, I wonder if waterboy sucks too? there is no drive and no passion, RG3 is just terrible and looks like more of a bust than savior. I cant stand this team anymore, I dont even know why I keep buy crap that says redskins. infact all of it can go to trash as of tonight. call me whatever you want, go be a proud fan and protect this joke of a team. Snyder screwed this team from first day he owned and it still continues to hurt the team. there is just no shortage of blame to go around, I wouldnt be suprised if RG3 is out of washington by 2015 and out of NFL by 2016. he just sucks....there is no talent there at all, it was fun for one year but to give up so much for a player that gives you one good year ( and that was with some luck) is just stupid. should have stick with Cousins from get go, used that pick on someone else and keep rest of the picks to build the team. we just dug ourselves into a bigger hole and we didnt even needed Ceratto to help us. F this team!

When will fans get it? What does it take for some of you to understand that you need an OL and receivers to succeed? We did this to Ramsey then Campbell and now RGIII. This is no different, well except for the fact that RGIII is uber-talented. Nobody could succeed with this roster.

suck ... suck ... suckity suck suck suck ... suckin' SUCK!

outside of the kicker and punter ... did any Skin have a good game?  OK that's harsh ... Morris got his and more.  But yeah ... absolutely ... this team isn't good

O-Line can't pass protect and can't run block

D-Line can't pressure the passer

LBs can't pressure the passer, can't really defend against the pass (*Riley did have 2 passes defended)

DB except Hall most of the time can't cover

Passing game sucks

Running game sucks

Blitzes don't so much as touch the QB

Helu on 3rd and short ... not just once ... what the SUCK is up with that?!

Nothing close to a back-up for the FB

No return game ... at sucking all

QB getting hit in 2 seconds ... SUCK right ... 2 seconds ... about enough time to duck and cover

Polumbus keeps the DE out of the pocket and escorts him back about 7 yards ... and the DE still gets to the QB ...

Trent .. the words you're looking for are ... Ole and Toro

SUCKS to listen to Chucky disect the bad decisions the QB makes over and over with slow motion and video graphics

I swear I don't think Kyle realizes he's coaching the Redskins offense with the Redskins' players

I am SO glad I have Caps season tickets

Here's the problem with that logic.  In preseason we ripped people up running vanilla schemes and other QBs.  The fact is simple RG3 should have sat the whole year, he isn't ready, the media are vultures, and he is taking a beating.  Cousins should have played.  It would have benefited both of them  I just hope we don't beat the crap out of RG3 out there a la Patrick Ramsey.

Why do I worry when shanny defends the offense by saying "we are top five in offense, we just didn't play well tonight"

It's as if he's trying to hit goals in terms of rankings and thinking it's going to add up to a good football team (see- sd chargers a couple of years ago)

He seems oblivious to game feel, adjustments, and things like clock management .

Honestly , I think he just plays for rankings thinking it'll convert to wins.

Wtf?

Yeah its about talent.  Coaching, or lack of, seems to be greatly overrated by many fans.  We have a lot of average talent, and that's being kind.  An average boarder-line player is going to get owned a couple times per game. If 3/4 of your starters each get owned/are a half-step slow/drop or miss a pass, a couple times per game.....

Then comes tonight's game against the 49ers.  A chance for this team to step up, make a stand and say "STFU ALREADY" and guess what?  They go out and get physically pushed around all over the field.

havent even read the whole thing yet and this stood out to me the most. Were getting man handled up front both sides

Shanny propaganda sir

It's basically him saying hey, my offense is good Dan keep me and my son.

you forgot cousins who might be a legit QB and is already a legit backup QB.

Yup, sorry add Kirk and get ready for an RG3/Kirk preseason QB competition

I think shanny has been ok, not great, with talent all things considered.  I could finally see why 84 plays he busts his butt out there.  its just these guys dont coach or something its like we are unprepared and unmotivated to play.  I saw so many guys give up on plays and blocking today it was hard to watch.

Horse manure. What does the talent level matter when the team is so listless and is displaying the body language normally assossciated with funerals and homicide scenes? Teams that are not only well coached but in complete unison with their head coach overcome adversity and history has proven this to be true over and over again. The 2007 Redskins are a prime example of this, and I think what this group is going through is a 5 star luxury cruise compared to what the team had to overcome in 07.

Well they wouldn't get us to a superbowl with our talent.  Keep kidding yourself.

I'm not saying we have the most talented offense, but there's no way in.hell we're THIS bad. Is the Rams more talented on.offense than we are? Are the Giants? Are the Seahawks anymore talented on offense?

I think we have the talent to compete, but we fall short in the coaching department on.both sides of the ball.

Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls fan base don't think it's that simple...

I don't buy that the team has given up on the coaches, because if that was the case, why wouldn't they have done it at 3-6 in 2012? Unless they all figured hey, Robert can't bail us out this time, so lets just quit.

Team shouldn't have been 3-6 last year. You guys have short memories

The replacement refs lost us the Bengals game and the giants game was a blown coverage both games were before the Carolina loss that left us at 3-6.

The team was fighting every week and coming up short. RG3 was heathy and everyone was believing.

The OP is 100% correct but most people here just don't get it. The simple minded blame coaching because they can call plays on madden so the think it's easy to that's all there is to coaching. Some just don't like Shanahan. Some, like children, simply want a new coach because Whaaaaaaa!

But the reality is that after years of mismanagement Shanahan was saddled with the monumental task of rebuilding this team with a 100 million dollar boat anchor and a dysfunctional organization where inmates were running the asylum.

As for why we did OK last year, it's painfully simple. RG3 was brilliant last year and no one was ready for him or the read option. This year he has struggled and teams are better prepared. On top of that this was the second year of our cap penalty and after two years of everyone else using cap space that we don't have, it caught up in a big way. Add the diminishing skills of London Fletcher and a few key injuries and it's amazing we aren't worse than we are.

I knew this **** was coming, I predicted 9 points knowing we were not getting into the endzone tonight. Look at the WR on the 49ers, thats what your suppose to give your QB. Look at their play calling, they go down field, the Redskins play around the damn LOS. Coaching is the reason this team is failing.

I have no friggin idea what game you were watching. But it wasn't the game on TV tonight.

football is much more intense.  I mean I think basketball players have it kind of easy compared to the wear and tear on football players and RG3 is critical to every play.  So if he's a little off we problably lose more often than if AP is a bit off.  If RG3 gets hurt this year we have truly f'd up especially after seeing what happened last year.

Its like we are admitting something terrible by letting a backup play, there's a reason why we have him, to protect our should be starter.  Playing Cousins is not the same as Cousins taking over the starting QB position.

2012 was about sticking it to "the man" Shanahan after he gave up on the season after the Carolina game by his statements in the press conference.

That kind of motivation without respect for their leader is not sustainable.
