  1. Priorities 1 - O Line (RT, C, LG, OT Depth) 2 - Linebacker - no remarkable LB talent currently on the roster (Davis is not good) 3 - Tight End - we don't have the impact TEs other good teams have 4 - Edge - add one game planning impact rusher 5 - QB ... if you think Howell can't win behind a quality line them make QB #1 but only if you can build a quality line. No QB can play well behind the current line. 6 - hidden gems if any, high potential talent if any
  2. Bleacher Report article this morning about smaller stadium in VA with "least popular" team undertones. Seriously don't believe Cooke's stadium is under attended exclusively due to team popularity. Personally I stopped going because it's in a bad location for me, traffic sucked, everything there is way too expensive, and the seats were sized for children under the age of 12. It's uncomfortable, expensive, with far too many terrible views. I think that's why the current stadium struggles to sell seats. Compound that with the incessant piped in music and crowd noise, and far too many visiting team fans (which I suspect is due to the inability to make going to the stadium attractive and affordable for the very many (still) local fans. Just my opinion but I'm getting a little sick of the standard dump on this franchise and owner. It's like everyone's favorite off-season pass time. Let's focus on the team and provide a really enjoyable stadium for players and the fans.
  3. I think it's glaringly obvious ... WFT needs a serious improvement in LB talent ... particularly MLB, and a coverage/free safety. I think the heat the D line is getting is more a reflection of the defense's inability to cover receivers, and a huge missing run stuffing LB. I get that the LBs aren't great or maybe even good in coverage but that isn't very unusual and could be addressed (more or less like it has been) by having a big safety play "LB" in certain sets. More coverage time means more QB hurries/hits and sacks. Run stuffing LB in the middle means those gashing hope killing runs are fewer and farther between. I hope there's good reasons the WFT hasn't snapped up one of the still excellent MLBs on the FA market or found/converted an answer for free safety. I'm not down on Jamin but I am curious why he's a virtual bench player when LB is such a problem. Again I assume there's a good reason.
  4. come now ... Josh got open ... he just couldn't catch balls that hit him in the hands ... remember "50-50?"
  5. he's good ... he just didn't take the game away from Clemson. Personally ... I think Simmons is the better immediate and long term player in the NFL ... also a freak ... felony fast at any size and he's got size. Fills the painfully empty Sean Taylor hole in my heart.
  6. the one about Redskins pressure leaders? Yeah 29th sucks ... but seriously think there's larger or at least a number of similarly sucky issues with the D ... and O for that matter.
  7. that was "the" one play of note ... and it was a late hit ... and it was teasing for a personal foul if not targeting ... one play out of ~ 50 the Texans lost with a solid offensive tally because they had no answer on defense ... telling it's not just sacks so I really couldn't say about Mack is zero sacks the only measure of merit ... nope ... what else did they do or not do. 1 tackle is telling ... especially if there's a guy making more in similar circumstances I think he vanished in that game because I watched it ... I expected to see him dominate or at least rock Clemson ... it's not the stats the lead me to say he vanished ... its the way he played. I watched that game hoping the Redskins would pick him in the draft. I got the memo. I didn't see that guy in that game. I'm no more of an expert on this topic than anyone else in this forum. He's got great measuring tape numbers, he's a freakish gifted athlete, he's plays some great games. In the playoffs, in that particular game ... he wasn't dominate. He should have been, and they needed him to be. Did you watch the game? Did you see him take control of it, force Clemson to do things they didn't want to, make game impact? If you did ... what was it?
  8. ESPN says he had 1 QB hurry in the game if you don't like the stats then impressions ... he didn't take the game over, he didn't make a splash, his one QB moment was a late hit to the helmet after another player has taken the QB out resulting in targeting, there weren't plays where you were left with ... "wow ... Young is a beast." You never had a moment where you were wondering what Clemson could do to avoid Young taking the game away from them. I'm not saying he's not good. I'm saying he wasn't much of a factor in this very important game and personally I think Simmons would be a better impact player as well as a better add to a more significant weakness on the Redskins roster. You also don't hear people talking about how the Clemson tackles are the best in college football ... or their TEs. Yeah he was doubled ... the issue is it worked and it worked when he wasn't doubled. If it was coaching instead of O Line play ... it's not like coaching isn't going to do the same thing in the pros.
  9. I watched that game ... Chase was a virtual non factor. He wasn't mentioned for what he was doing in the game much, he got some notice for tackling the QBs helmet and avoiding a targeting penalty ... and that was about it. Did you see something else?
  10. Buckeyes loss to the Clemson Tigers in the semi-final ... Chase Young, DE … 2 tackles, 1 QB hurry, 0 tackles for a loss, 0 sacks Isaiah Simmons LB/S … 4 tackles, 1 INT This season ... Young 46 tackles, 16.7 sacks, Simmons 104 tackles, 7 sacks, 4 INT 2 tackles, 1 hurry, no sacks
  11. meanwhile back at the farm ... Breeland sits a game because of a recreational drug that is legal in "Washington"
  12. Total redesign please ... built around burgundy that's actually burgundy and gold that doesn't look like safety vest yellow. Use white and black for contracts and complementary colors.
  13. Mara, his lackey/butt-boy Goodell and the Redskins Cap penalty re: http://thelawdictionary.org/collusion/ ... i.e., patently illegal
  14. I'd be happy to see a complete redesign ... something current and new. Maybe as the lead for a complete new approach to playing/winning football games. Keep the team colors Burgundy and Gold ... tweek them a little as a function of artistic licence (dark burgundy, red "burgundy", gold "gold", yellow "gold", whatever). Something that gets most people saying "damn those are nice ..."
  15. nice bump ... I'd nit pick and suggest that the approach to building the offensive line has been FELONY-STUPID ... but I'm still a little PO'd about yet another humilating loss. Even so ... I don't think he has a fair understanding of the importance of the offensive line to the potential of the offense in general, or its ability to take ordinary athletes and make then special ... QBs, RBs and receivers ... and for that matter above average players turn into pro bowlers (e.g., Mark Rypien behind the hogs).
  16. gonna be hard pressed to find anything that looks as good as #21 in any color scheme
  17. got my vote ... this would be awesome! I'm good for 1 home and 1 away jersey if they make this switch.

  19. ditto ... very dated and more than a fan generation old sure they wore the current uniforms when they won the super bowl ... but as far as holding onto traditions etc. ... they wore the current uniforms through about 20 years of primarily terrible performances and socially humiliating conduct that we've had to suffer through and been associated with. NY, Philly have both updated their uniforms in that time and even Dallas has tweaked their ever so basic and boring blues white and star set. I say go new and cutting edge (and "really" use "burgundy" and "gold" as opposed to cardinal red and green bay yellow) ... or go back to the actual roots like the current 80th anniversary colors and style (with a non-leather helmet design) as the standard uniform
  20. freshen it up and start being relevant to the times ... I do think the club should stick with the established team colors burgundy and gold though as the main theme
